Armageddon (1998)

Factual error: The nuke is provided by the military, not NASA. There is no reason why the NASA guys should have any access to the bomb. So, the idea of some random technician at Mission Control punching in a few numbers on a keyboard and somehow shutting off the bomb makes absolutely no sense.

Factual error: It wouldn't have mattered that Ritter had his "autographed get out of jail free card" given to him by Cutter or authorized by the President, it was still an illegal operation that Congress didn't know about. Anyone involved in it would be going to prison regardless of position.

Suggested correction: The point Ritter is making is the operation was personally authorized by the President behind closed doors. If Cutter and Ritter were arrested for their involvement, they would be pardoned by the President. The President of the United States has the authority to pardon someone even before they have been charged with a federal crime, as Gerald Ford did for Richard Nixon. Jack doesn't have this protection because he is to be the scapegoat if the scandal is exposed.

Arachnophobia (1990)

Factual error: Jerry Manley's corpse wouldn't have been returned to his home town as depicted. He died in a foreign country outside the U.S. from what was thought to have been a fever, his corpse would have been quarantined for possible contamination and autopsied which would have quickly determined his real cause of death from the spider.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Factual error: There is a modern 1960's car in the background when Forrest says Bubba's grandmother cooked shrimp. As young as his grandmother appears to be, no such car would have existed at that time.

Suggested correction: Bubba's grandmother is never seen. The person we see serving shrimp is Bubba's mother and then it skips to his great-grandmother.

Moonraker (1979)

Factual error: There are way more Marines in the American shuttle than it should be able to hold.

Outbreak (1995)

Factual error: When the camera is panning through the different rooms of USAMRIID it exits out of BSL-3 and as it does a female technician takes her breathing mask off before she opens the door. This is supposed to be the highly infectious room that tests things like Anthrax or H.I.V. yet this woman not only takes her mask off she's not even quarantined or decontaminated.
