Other mistake: The Kramdens' lock on the door is just a slide bolt that is only operable from inside the apartment. It's impossible for them to lock the apartment door from outside. The Norton's on the other hand have a regular dead bolt lock.

Hogan's Heroes (1965)

Klink for the Defense - S6-E19

Factual error: About 8 minutes into show, Major Hochstetter asks Schultz how long Colonel Hogan (an American) has been running the camp, and Schultz says 3 years last November. This is impossible. The US didn't get into the war until December, 1941, He would have to have been captured November '42 or earlier but the war was over by November 1945.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Not necessarily. Quite a few Americans served with the RAF before America declared war. The Eagle Squadron American volunteers fought at the Battle of Britain in 1940 for example.

stiiggy

Hogan was an American bomber pilot.

Gunsmoke (1955)

Sanctuary - S11-E23

Revealing mistake: At 40 minutes in Doc is treating a gunman. Look at Doc's eyebrow. His right eyebrow is sticking up on the right side and you can see his real eyebrow underneath it. His left eyebrow looks OK.

Hogan's Heroes (1965)

Request Permission to Escape - S1-E32

Other mistake: Carter is washing things in front of the barracks. There is snow on the ground and on the windowsills and they are wearing winter jackets but the cold weather doesn't bother him putting his hands in the water over and over. He even gets splashed in the face but it doesn't faze him.

A House Divided - S4-E18

Other mistake: Heidi turns off the gas, saying that the shutoff valve has to be moved perpendicular to the pipe to shut off the gas, which is correct. But Heidi actually moves it parallel to the pipe, which turns on the gas.

Barney Miller (1974)

The Wheaton Recurrence - S3-E19

Factual error: Sheldon and the team are league bowling and have a match with Will Wheaton's team. They are bowling on lanes 2 and 3. In league bowling, you have to bowl on lanes that start with an odd number because the ball return is shared between those lanes. In league bowling, you take turns with each lane so that any differences in the lanes evens out, and this lane layout wouldn't allow that.

Barney Miller (1974)

Ramon - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: A criminal steals Fish's gun and holds the squad hostage. He has a handcuff on one wrist with the other one hanging. The hanging cuff goes back and forth between being open and being closed throughout the scene.

terry s

Cousin Virgil - S2-E30

Other mistake: Barney's cousin is coming to Mayberry but gets off the bus in a previous town and misses it. Barney and Andy go out to find him, leaving from Mayberry. They are driving down the road when they come upon his cousin. The cousin is walking in the same direction as Andy and Barney are going, which would have meant he was walking away from Mayberry when he should have been walking towards it.

Hogan's Heroes (1965)

Hogan's Double Life - S6-E22

Plot hole: Five minutes into the show, Klink and Hogan are in Klink's office when a gestapo major comes in. When Hogan leaves, Klink mentions Hogan's name and the major realises with surprise that that is Hogan and then says he knows all about Hogan and his description. That alone should have led the major to know that this was Hogan. Hogan also has his name on a tag on his jacket.

Hogan's Heroes (1965)

D-Day at Stalag 13 - S3-E3

Factual error: While the show always made it winter time by having snow on everything (salt piles strewn about) and icicles on all the windows, this episode has an actual date of occurrence, June 6, 1944. They help to solve the snow on the set by taping the whole episode inside. However, the windows still all have the ice formations on them. It's late spring.

terry s

Anyone for Suicide? - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the show, the squadron has to land on a carrier deck. The shots from the sky go back and forth between a straight deck carrier and an angled carrier deck. Also, an angled carrier wasn't put into use until the early 50's by the British, Black Sheep takes place in WWII.

Hogan's Heroes (1965)

Show generally

Other mistake: Throughout the show, they always show snow on the ground and ice on the windows. It is almost always freezing weather. They regularly use a periscope viewer that is placed it a 55 gallon drum containing water, yet the water never freezes or shows any kind of icing up.

True Lies (1994)

Other mistake: During the bathroom shootout scene, the terrorist shoots the bathroom stall walls from a heavy angle. When the walls and doors are shown from the front while being opened, the bullet holes go directly through both walls of the doors, which would only look like that if they were shot from directly in front.
