Aladdin (1992)

Corrected entry: In the dungeon scene, Jafar in disguise as an old man has just told Aladdin of the treasure. Iago, the parrot, pokes his head out from under the shawl to say, " Jafar, can you hurry up, I'm dying in here." The creators of the film must have intended for the audience to know Iago was concealed in that disguise for a reason besides to point out Jafar in disguise, but Iago was never heard from again throughout the "Cave of Wonders" scenes. Maybe Jafar dropped Iago somewhere when he picked up the horse he rode to the cave.

Mike Wotton

Correction: It's only the submitter's opinion that the animators had some ulterior motive for showing Iago hidden in the costume. That doesn't make this a mistake.

Krista

Corrected entry: I'm sure everyone knows that the movie was based upon a true incident in France at the time of King Louis XIV. What people do not know however is that the prisoner, originally did not wear an iron mask, but instead wore a leather mask. There was also two guards in the cell with him all of the time and were ordered to kill the prisoner if he ever took his mask off.

Correction: Although there was a similar incident in real life, such errors should be overlooked since the movie is in fact based on the book "The Man in the Iron Mask" by Alexandre Dumas - a work of fiction.

Krista

Corrected entry: In the tunnel chase scene where Marty is on the hoverboard and Biff is in his car, after Marty gets the almanac, Biff drives to the end of the tunnel and spins his car around. The next shot is a close up of the front of Biff's car and you can clearly see his license plate. The year is supposed to be 1955, but his tags expired in 1951. (01:33:24)

Correction: Doc states that Biff's car is a '46. Lots of people drive around with expired tags - this just shows how irresponsible Biff is.

Krista

Corrected entry: For a city who had not seen snow in 36 years, it seems a bit strange that early the next morning there are children outside playing on sleds. Where did they get them? It doesn't seem likely that any stores would have stocked them when they didn't expect snow.

princesskelli

Correction: It's not uncommon for people in the L.A. area to travel to nearby mountainous communities for skiing and wintry weather. They could have bought the sleds there.

Free Willy (1993)

Corrected entry: When Jesse is trying to get Willy to jump over him and the barrier at the end of the movie, Jesse is perfectly still and Willy would have to jump over the barrier AND Jesse.

Malaver

Correction: I don't see how this is a mistake; Willy DOES jump over the barrier and Jesse.

Krista

Corrected entry: Sarah Connors armpits are clean shaven. Would mental patients with a history of stabbing people have access to razorblades?

Correction: I don't know what the rules are in mental facilities, but there are plenty of safety razors out there which would be difficult to cut yourself or someone else with, even if you tried. She may have been allowed use of one of those under supervision. Or she could have used an electric razor, or hair removal cream.

Krista

Corrected entry: As Black is leaving on Buckbeak, Buckbeak only takes a few steps and climbs rapidly in to the air. But when Harry is riding him it takes quite a distance to get enough speed.

Correction: It's never stated that Buckbeak has to get up any speed to take off. It may just be easier with a running start, which he has room to do in the forest but not on the rooftop.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: If Rose and her mother both survived the Titanic, why didn't her mother go looking for Rose, seeing as how she became an actress?

Correction: First of all, we don't know that Rose's mother never went looking for her. But even if she picked up on "Rose Dawson" as the name Rose gave for herself at the end and did look for her, Rose could have run away to another town to become an actress, and used a stage name. She could have been a theater actress instead of a screen actress as well, so her mother may never have seen her.

Krista

Correction: Rose talked with Cal on board on the Carpathia. The dialogue was a deleted scene. Rose said to Cal: "Tell her (Ruth) her daughter (Rose) died with the Titanic."

Thelma and Louise (1991)

Corrected entry: There is a time problem in the first part of the movie. Thelma and Louise get to the Silver Bullet bar just as it is getting dark, which at the latest could have been at 9 p.m., if the movie was set in summertime. The events happening inside the bar are all shown in real time, and no more than 10-20 minutes later Harland gets shot and the women speed away. Then they stop by the side of the road, change drivers, and stop at a diner where Louise calls Darryl - which we later learn was at 4 a.m. That's a 7-hour stretch to do only those things.

Correction: The events in the bar are not in real time. We see Thelma and Harland dancing to several different songs, a purposeful indicator of time passing. Thelma also ends up getting plastered, which would have been difficult to do in just a few minutes. And finally, Louise later says that no one will belive Harlan tried to rape Thelma, because everyone saw her hanging on him all night. It's safe to assume they were at the bar for several hours.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: A shot near the end of the film shows a burning alien ship over Sydney. Given the speed at which the aliens destroy major world cities, Sydney should have been leveled long ago.

Correction: While Sydney is one of the more famous cities in the world, it doesn't even come close to being one of the most populous. (At the time of filming there were at least five cities in China alone that had more than twice as many people.) And since the aliens' goal was simply to kill human beings, it makes sense that Sydney was not on the top of their list.

Krista

Corrected entry: At the the scene with the flying keys, Harry flies his broom through the door and the keys crash into the door when the gang close it, and in the next scene Harry's walking to the chessboard. Where did the broom go?

Correction: As the kids come through the double doors into the chess room, you can see the broom leaning against the wall behind them.

Office Space (1999)

Corrected entry: When the two Bobs are going through files, discussing who to fire with Lumbergh, Bob Slydell mispronounces Tom's surname. It's "SMYkowski" throughout the film, but here he pronounces it "SYMkowski" in this scene.

Chris Blower

Correction: This could be done intentionally to reinforce the fact that the Bobs are jerks who don't give a crap about the people they're firing. They can't pronounce Samir's last name either, and they laugh about it.

Cold Creek Manor (2003)

Corrected entry: The setting is a deep country area, if you listen carefully it is obvious that Ruby has somewhat of a northern/New York accent, along with a few others.

kurt hudson

Correction: The town is within a day's drive of New York City. Who's to say some of the people didn't originally live near there?

Krista

Corrected entry: Nick says "we're about an inch tall" and yet the ant, which is only a baby ant, is much longer than any of them.

Correction: He says "We're a quarter of an inch tall" when he's making his calculation of how far they are from the house.

Tremors (1990)

Corrected entry: When the doctor's wife is in the station wagon, there's a coffee cup on the dash at first. In later shots it disappears.

Correction: It disappears because as the back of the car is falling into the sankeoid's hole, the front of the car is being tilted up. The cup surely falls off the dashboard.

American Beauty (1999)

Corrected entry: When Lester is in his car on his way to Mr. Smiley's blasting "American Woman" and openly smoking a joint, a motorcycle cop is shown in the rear window right behind him. The motorcycle comes in from directly behind him and sweeps across the screen. I would guess this is a police escort blocking traffic for the scene, or some less than well thought out background film. Either way, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that he would fail to notice the motorcycle sweeping across one of his rear view mirrors. (00:56:08)

Correction: It does make sense that Lester wouldn't notice the cop if he's smoking up and jamming to music. Besides, he could have noticed but not cared. He's feeling very rebellious at the moment, and getting arrested would just take the cake.

Aladdin (1992)

Corrected entry: At the end of 'A Whole New World' sequence in Bejin (Peking), when Jasmine confronts Aladdin with his (more or less) true identity, she forgets to ask him how he can be alive in the first place, since Jafar has reported to her that he had been executed.

Correction: Jasmine already knows that Jafar is no good. She's suspected Aladdin's true identity since the very beginning of the ride, and probably assumes that Jafar lied to her.

Krista

Corrected entry: In the scene when Tristan's wife Isabel is being killed, Tristan screams out his pain and then you see his teeth-filling. I don't think that there were any teeth-fillings at that time. (01:39:40)

Correction: The use of silver teeth fillings was standardized in the 1890's. No problem here.

A Christmas Story (1983)

Corrected entry: When Ralphie is sitting on Santa's lap, he is wearing a different shirt (maybe green?) than when he is sliding down the slide (white striped shirt and tie).

Correction: Ralphie always has the same shirt on. It has very thin green stripes, so in the close-ups on Santa's lap they're more visible than in the wide shots, where they blend in with the white on the shirt.

The Pianist (2002)

Corrected entry: There is a scene where an old man in a wheelchair is thrown out of a window and the rest of his family is forced to run away in the street, only to be gunned down by the German soldiers. In the last shot, the German soldiers are driving away, and you can see one of the people who is suppose do be lying dead on the street slightly move out of the way of the car (to avoid being actually run over).

Correction: Given that the truck runs over one person who is obviously still alive, given that he screams, it's possible that not everyone the Germans shot was killed right away.
