Almost Famous (2000)

Corrected entry: In the scene where they are singing "Tiny Dancer" on the bus, the next line is "Count the headlights on the highway", however, when William turns to Penny and says "I have to go home" it looks like she is about to sing "Hold me closer tiny dancer" when in fact she should have been singing "Count the headlights on the highway."

Correction: Perhaps Penny did not know the song very well and got confused on the chorus. Character mistake not film mistake.

Corrected entry: On the DVD version, in the scene where Doc gets shot and then later reveals to Marty that he was wearing a bullet proof vest. A vest does not work in the way shown in the movie. It doesn't repel bullets (as shown in the "impact points" in the vest he displays), it absorbs them. Read how a vest works from howstuffworks dot com and you'll see what I mean. In addition, it looks like he is wearing only a Threat Level 2a class vest. An AK47 or similar weapon with a 7.62mm round would go clean through the vest, through Doc, and out the other side thus killing him and ending the story. The only style of vest that can withstand that sort of impact is a Threat Level 3 class vest (the style that specialized units in the military wear). This style is very bulky and is extremely difficult to conceal like Doc did. In addition, it has a ceramic plate in it which would have shattered upon the first impact and failed to protect against multiple impacts from that kind of weapon, and definitely not show "impact points" of twisted metal.

Correction: Doc is a brilliant scientist as well as an inventor. He had the time and the ability to invent his own special material that works like no other material known to man. If he can invent a time machine, I'm sure a bulletproof material would be easy for him.

Damian Torres

As he stated in 1955, none of his inventions had ever worked. When he heard about and was shown the Delorean, he was amazed because it worked. I don't think that he would have been able to invent a jacket that repels bullets that great.

He is still a brilliant inventor/engineer that eventually makes the DeLorean run on bio-fuel and makes a train fly. Surely he can invent himself a vest.

lionhead

Unless he is super paranoid I don't think he thought he would be shot.

Correction: After 30 years it's possible for him to invent the vest. Also, from what I see, the vest hasn't repelled the rounds, as we can see where they've hit as the rounds have impacted the vest.

Corrected entry: When the aliens are coming in to New York, there is a shot of people starting to run in the other direction, from where the ship is coming in. The cop on horseback turns the horse around to flee, and in the next shot from the side of the street, the cop turns his horse around again.

TiggBoy

Correction: Not uncommon in film to show the same scene from 2 different angles.

Corrected entry: In Jabba's dungeon, Han says to Chewbacca, "Chew... Chewie.", but his lips don't move. (00:20:40)

Correction: You can say the words "Chew. . . Chewie" without moving your lips. Try it.

Major League II (1994)

Corrected entry: In the last inning of the ALCS game, when Vaughn comes in, he intentionally walks the batter to get to Parkman. In Major League Baseball, you can only intentionally walk a batter if first base is unoccupied. There were runners on first and second, thus making it impossible to intentionally walk the batter.

ManOnStilts

Correction: This is just not true. You can intentionally walk ANY batter regardless of which bases are occupied. I have seen games where a batter is walked with the bases loaded just so the pitcher can get to a weaker batter. The theory being that it's better to only give up one run than a potential four if you pitch to the stronger batter.

Big Red One (1980)

Corrected entry: The German, Schroeder, appears to wear no rank insignia. Yet he is seen giving orders to other German soldiers, including those who are NCOs.

Correction: This could be a military tactic by the Germans. Given the close fighting situation, perhaps the Germans had a plan to have their highest ranking officer with no visible rank or insignia. This would protect the high officer from the enemy. This is also along the lines of why you're never supposed to salute a superior officer in close combat.

Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

Corrected entry: When Pedro is riding his bike while going off the ramp, there are six bricks under the ramp, but to make Napoleon fall there are only four bricks.

Correction: Don't see the mistake. Maybe Napoleon didn't want to jump the ramp at that steep of an angle and removed two of the bricks before he jumped.

Corrected entry: When Jimmy is having batting practice and he's talking to himself about coaching a girl's team, his lips don't move when he says anything during the entire scene.

ACertainShadeofGreen

Correction: Jimmy is clearly upset/uncomfortable with his situation. He's speaking through his clenched teeth which is why his lips don't appear to move.

Damian Torres

Corrected entry: In this scene a penalty is called on a run that followed a timeout. The announcer says the clock will start as soon as the ball is set. This is factually incorrect as the clock would not start until the ball is snapped. (01:43:45)

Correction: The penalty referred to was holding on the offense. The clock is only stopped for defensive penalties. The clock is restarted as soon as it is spotted for offensive penalties. This is to prevent teams on offense from intentionally committing penalties in order to stop the clock.

The Terminator (1984)

Corrected entry: When Sarah is hiding under the desk at the police station she has NO idea that its not Reese doing all the shooting with the police. As far as she knows he is crazy and out to get her like Dr. Soberman and the police just described. When he smashes the glass and calls out to her she runs into his arms. Talk about a trusting lady/foolish lady.

Spaceboy_007

Correction: Reese has told Sarah that the Terminator is after her and that he's there to protect her. When the police station comes under attack, Sarah is probably pretty sure it's not Reese since he was in restraints the last she saw. Plus she knows the abuse the Terminator can take and dish out. When Reese escapes the handcuffs and finds Sarah, it is at this point that Sarah realizes that he is not crazy and that what he's told her it true.

Corrected entry: Andy's escape is made by tunneling, yet his cell is on the second story of the prison and there are others cells to the right of his. Therefore, by tunneling into the wall, the only thing that would happen is that he would end up in the next guy's cell.

Correction: Andy's cell is the last on the row. There are only cells to one side (left as you're facing it from outside). Andy tunnels through the solid wall opposite the row of cells (right as you're facing it from outside).

Stand By Me (1986)

Corrected entry: During the campfire, the boys all ask each other random questions. Vern says, "If I could only have one food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be cherry flavored Pez." In 1959, Cherry flavored Pez did not exist. The only flavors that existed were the originals: strawberry, grape, orange and lemon.

Correction: Not really a mistake. Perhaps Vern is wishing there WAS a cherry flavored Pez and if there were, he'd eat it for the rest of his life.

Corrected entry: When the Zeppelin takes off, you see the German officer has fallen into a pile of bags. These bags obviously belonged to the passengers on the Zeppelin, so why weren't they on the Zeppelin when it took off? (01:12:55)

Correction: Perhaps the bags belonged to passengers on the incoming flight rather than the outgoing flight?

Zeppelins didn't turn around that quickly.

Bad Santa (2003)

Corrected entry: Willie has a criminal record and has been in prison. We know this from his intro commentary. But throughout the movie he leaves his fingerprints everywhere, most notably early on when he steals a car and leaves car keys all over the parking lot and then proceeds to crack the safe in the hose without gloves. It would seem very unlikely that he has remained at liberty for his seven years of safe cracking.

Correction: Willie is a small time thief that travels from town to town. His Santa gig is perfect in that hardly any background checks are done for applicants. Not to mention that he only does it once a year. So despite his leaving fingerprints, police would probably not have a current address and would not be very concerned with trying to catch him (as opposed to say an armed bank robber.) However unlikely it may seem, it is not impossible to go under the radar from the police for seven years.

My Cousin Vinny (1992)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Vinny and Lisa are in the hotel room and Vinny is revealing that he is scared about the trial, Lisa kisses Vinny goodnight and crawls in the bed. As she reaches over to turn off the lamp on the night stand, it shows an ash tray with cigarette butts in it. Neither Lisa or Vinny smoke in the entire movie. (00:47:40)

Correction: Just because they are never SHOWN smoking doesn't mean that neither of the characters do not smoke. Not a mistake.

Superman II (1980)

Corrected entry: I always find it comical that Ursa reacts with pain when the snake bites her at the lake. The snake should've broken its teeth on Ursa, who would've felt nothing.

Correction: Ursa is still getting used to her powers. She reacts like that because she still expects it to hurt. How many times do we say "Ouch!" when it doesn't really hurt at all? Not to mention her possible surprise at the sudden attack by the snake.
