Question: Why is Charles okay with Mystique joining Magneto's side? They're supposed to be brother and sister but he doesn't even attempt to talk her out of it.

THGhost

Chosen answer: He's not okay with it, but he knows that Erik's views appeal strongly to her. To all intents and purposes, she's already made her decision - to try to stop her would likely only lead to an argument, which is not how he'd want them to part. Plus there is the somewhat major side issue that Charles has just been shot, so it's not really the right time for a discussion on conflicting mutant philosophies.

The Fifth Element (1997)

Question: What happened to the Mondoshawan trapped inside the temple at the beginning of the film? When we see the temple again towards the end of the film it isn't there anymore. Did it get out? If so, how?

THGhost

Chosen answer: The Mondoshawan died. It was moved out of the temple room by David while he was preparing for the arrival of the heroes.

Answer: The opening scene happens 300 years before our heroes and story line kicks in, as it tells us on screen when we switch the 'present'. So, it stands to reason that the large metal bodies were removed or collected by the Priesthood of that time, and maybe a few after - did you see the size of those things? Plus there were a lot of them. It does seem to imply their death, the heroic sacrifice for life. But I've never fully bought that. The big metal beastie gives the priest the key, which the 'present' priest 300 yrs later has. I'm sure the first priest and his buddies (or a posse of Egyptian child labor candidates) pried that door open and got them out. Dead or alive. There's no way that skinny, awkward, priest kid in training would have been able to clean all that up on his own. Nor do I think they would have just left the big mess of dead aliens for 300yrs.

The Fifth Element (1997)

Trivia: When Leeloo is fleeing from the cops and is startled by the elevator that goes down past her, on the roof of a grey bus passing along side it, you can see "KG62" written on it. "KG" are Karen Goulekas' initials, the film's digital effects supervisor, and "62" is her birth year. This is confirmed on the DVD's visual effects commentary.

Alien (1979)

Trivia: When Kane encounters the alien eggs, some droplets of the dark liquid that covers them can be seen falling upwards instead of downwards. This is because the egg was in fact upside down when it was filmed and the shot was inverted to show the otherworldly nature of the eggs.

The Fifth Element (1997)

Character mistake: Right before the door of the tomb closes and traps one of the Mondoshawans inside at the beginning of the film, the Priest says "hurry, you still have time". But there is not enough room left for the Mondoshawan to squeeze through.

Suggested correction: It is not said for what there is time. Maybe not to get out but to do something else - we don't know what these aliens can do, but the priest could. The Mondoshivan manages to get the key out; maybe that was meant.

Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you're trying to say. Maybe my entry wasn't clear enough. Even if the Mondoshawan did have enough time to escape, it still wouldn't have been able to fit through. It would be literally impossible. So what the Priest said was still incorrect, in my opinion.

Nosferatu (1922)

Plot hole: When Nosferatu is caught in the sunlight towards the end, his reflection can be seen in the tall standing mirror in the corner of the room. This makes no sense because vampires do not cast reflections. Deliberate or not, in the original Bram Stoker novel, there is a scene in which the character Harker is shaving, and is disturbed to see that the Count casts no reflection. There is also a passage that states, "He throws no shadow, he make in the mirror no reflect." Some would argue that the rising of the sun robs him of his powers, giving him the reflection. But his reflection is visible before the rooster starts crowing, before the sun even rises.

Suggested correction: That's all from the book, none of that is established in the film.

Nosferatu (1922)

Revealing mistake: When Count Orlok has loaded the crates onto the cart, he climbs into the last one and the lid "levitates" into place. This trick is achieved by stop-motion animation, but the cart horses do not hold their position and shatter the illusion - their heads unnaturally jerk about while the lid is in motion.
