Corrected entry: The cops who pull George over tell him he should "be careful taking those pain pills with alcohol". Despite that, the way he was mixing the two, he'd be completely unable to walk, much less drive a car. Of course it's a movie, but in reality the cops should have taken George straight to the hospital to get his stomach pumped.

Catwoman (2004)
Corrected entry: I know movies require a certain suspension of disbelief, but not of all credibility. The Hedares are going to market BeauLine KNOWING that is causes facial malformation and scarring. Why? Don't they realise that they will be sued into oblivion? The profits they make from selling an unsafe product cannot possibly be enough to protect them from the billions of dollars of damages they will face.
Correction: How many comapnies have put known dangerous products on the market and still exist today? Ford Pinto is one big example. How many drugs/medications have been rushed to market, only to be pulled within 2 years because they had dire long-term effects? How long did it take for someone to finally win a tobacco lawsuit?

Brother Bear (2003)
Corrected entry: When Kenai is dangling from a tree by the rope, Koda talks about how he used to climb trees. Grizzly bears don't climb trees, only black bears do.
Correction: All grizzly cubs (up to 1 year) can climb trees, and many adult grizzlies can too. http://www.nhptv.org/natureworks/grizzly.htm.

The Odyssey (1997)
Corrected entry: Achilles' corpse is covered in wounds when they unveil it. But when Odysseus sets the torch on him, all of these wounds have disappeared.
Correction: He was the son of a goddess. In the original myth, Zeus prevented any damage to be done to Hector's body after death and left him looking better than when he was alive. Achilles' mom stepped in here.

The Odyssey (1997)
Corrected entry: No coins are put on Achilles' eyes or tongue at his funeral. In Greek times, they always would put coins in either the eyes or tongue of the dead so that they could pay the ferryman in the Underworld.
Correction: Not always and Achilles was the son of a goddess. According to the myths, Hercules climbed atop his pyre still alive with no coins. There are many more references like that in the myths.

Air Force One (1997)
Corrected entry: Air Force One's armory has H&K MP5's which the terrorists hand out. Problem is, the Secret Service only uses UZI's.
Correction: From the official website of the Secret Service: What types of weapons do agents carry? Secret Service agents and officers carry the Sig Sauer P229, 357 caliber pistol. They also are trained on the Remington Model 870 shotgun, the Uzi submachine gun, and the "MP5 automatic weapon". http://www.secretservice.gov/kids_faq.shtml#13.
CAT Agents also carried M4's when this movie was made in 1997 before the switch to SR 16's around 2006.

The China Syndrome (1979)
Corrected entry: A room full of trained nuclear operators would never rely only on a stuck recorder pen to see reactor water level. The control board has several other reactor level indicators, and they're much more accurate.
Correction: Three Mile Island nearly melted down because the Pilot Operated Relief Valve stuck open. The gauge indicating the position of the PORV indicated the valve was closed, when it was actually open. The Davis-Besse reactor in Ohio had a similar situation months earlier. The PORV ended sticking in the open position even though the gauge read closed. They began to treat the problem created by the stuck PORV as if it was something else. After 20 minutes, the operator realsied that the PORV had to be stuck open and remidied the situation. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission never put out any type of warning regarding the incident. The NRC said such an accident was a freak even and unlikely to ever happen again. Of course it did with TMI. Nearly 3 hours into the TMI crisis, they called in another engineer to work early. He decided that every piece of data, except the gauge indicator for the PORV, pointed to the fact that the PORV was stuck open. He manually shut and avoided the total meltdown. True life is scarier than the movies. Never assume what a room full of trained individuals should and shouldn't know.

Pearl Harbor (2001)
Corrected entry: What are Navy nurses doing giving physicals to Army pilots? The Army has its own nurses.
Correction: While I was in the Army stationed on an Air Force Base, I saw Air Force doctors and nurses. A military hospital is a MILITARY hospital.

Training Day (2001)
Corrected entry: At the end of the film, after the fight with Ethan Hawke, Denzel Washington is sitting calmly in his car at a stop light late at night. But why would a bad cop with no regard for the law bother to stop at a red light late at night? Especially when he knows mobsters are after him? Is he more concerned about traffic laws than criminal law?
Correction: Why does a drug runner obey the speed limits? Why doesn't a serial killer murder someone with a full room of witnesses? Just because you are a criminal, doesn't mean you are stupid. You don't break any laws when someone might be watching. You do not draw attention to yourself.

Jurassic Park (1993)
Corrected entry: There's a problem with the "faulty lysine gene" idea. If the idea is to insert a faulty gene to prevent the dinosaurs metabalizing lysine, then feeding them dietary supplements won't help. They won't be able to metabolize the extra lysine, so what's the point of them eating it? If the idea is to stop them manufacturing lysine then they are on a hiding to nothing anyway, as lysine is not "manufactured" in the body and is obtained exclusively from dietary sources. Either way, those dinosaurs are in trouble from the getgo.
Correction: The faulty lysine gene wasn't inserted to prevent the dinosaurs from metabolising lysine: It makes them lysine dependent. Word for word from the book (since it explains it better): "we don't want them to survive in the wild. So I've made them lysine dependent. I inserted a gene that makes a single faulty enzyme in protein metabolism. As a result, the animals cannot manufacture the amino acid lysine. They must ingest it from the outside. Unless they get an extraneous source of lysine - supplied by us, in tablet form - they'll go into a coma within 12 hours and expire."

Total Recall (1990)
Corrected entry: Funny how the bad guys (Richter, et al) can pinpoint Quade with their scanner, but they run right past him on the way to his apartment.
Correction: They didn't turn the scanner on yet. They expected that his wife would have killed, or at least restrained, him on their way up. No need to scan when the know exactly where he is.

The Cannonball Run (1981)
Corrected entry: As the contestants are starting the race, Mr. Foyt and Pamela are in a car nearby. Foyt is calling out their license plate numbers for Pamela to write down. He calls out "Whiskey, Zebra, Alpha, Niner, Fiver, Zero." However, only the number 9 should be stated with an "R" at the end so that it can be distinguished from the number 5.
Correction: The phonetic alphabet is not set in stone. If he wishes to say FIVER, he may. He uses ZEBRA which is not part of the official military phonetic alphabet. It doesn't mean it is wrong.

Navy SEALS (1990)
Corrected entry: For disobeying a direct order to stay put, and consequently causing Chief's death, Hawkins should be court-martialed. While being investigated, he would be barred from going on missions.
Correction: The key word here is "should". But what should happen and what actually happens are 2 different things in real life.

Man on Fire (2004)
Corrected entry: Creasy reveals that Pita's father played a part in her kidnapping, and participated in a plot along with his lawyer to keep half of the ransom money, and still get Pita back. What I'm wondering is how was he planning on this plan working? If the ransom drop hadn't been hijacked, the kidnappers surely would have counted the money before returning Pita to her family, and realized half of it was missing. Wouldn't they have killed her upon realizing that Pita's father had tried to pull one on them, thus foiling his plot to get her back and keep half the money? It seems his master plan was dead before it even got started.
Correction: For example: The father and lawyer contact the kidnappers. They ask the kidnappers to abduct the child and ask for $50,000. The father and lawyer state that they will get $25,00 for their effort. We have no idea what the deal between the 2 groups was.

Tremors 2 (1996)
Corrected entry: When Grady leaves the radio playing on the ground, a graboid eats it. The next day, when foolish Grady steps on the ground, he hears the radio playing in the graboid's mouth. Don't you think that from running non-stop for that period of time, the batteries would've died?
Correction: A radio doesn't use that much power. Not as much as a tape player or portable CD player. A battery operated radio should easily run 24hours non-stop, quite probably more.

The Lion King 1½ (2004)
Corrected entry: While Timon and Pumbaa are creeping through the ranks of animals assembled for Simba's birth ceremony, most of the animals aren't moving a muscle. They should at least be shifting their weight slightly, or switching their tailsnot standing like rocks. This is particularly obvious in the row of elephants when seen from the rear. The end result looks extremely fake.
Correction: Having participated in many military formations and parades, standing completely still and not twitching a muscle is part of the discipline. These are sentient animals. Having them stand in a semi-military posture could be seen as a sign of respect, escpecially considering the hierarch present in the film (the lion KING).

The Godfather (1972)
Corrected entry: Clemenza has Paulie pull over so that he can go urinate in the bushes. The man in the back seat shoots Paulie in the head. Clemenza and the shooter then leave the car there, with Paulie's body inside. How do Clemenza and the shooter get home? Hitchhike?
Correction: Many different ways that were not shown in the film. Hitchhike. They could have hidden bikes along the route. They could have hidden a car. They could have planned to be picked up on that spot at a certain time. Not everything needs to be shown.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
Corrected entry: Anytime the crew is faced with a person that claims to be a time traveller or a crew member acts different and claims it's from time displacement the rest of the crew's first response is skepticism. Why? On average, the Enterprise gang deals with time travel once or twice a month. One would think the logical response would be to say "OK, someone grab a tricorder and lets scan for time travel events." This is especially evident in the series finale.
Correction: Let's start with the time travellers and time displacements that happen on the ship, excluding the final episode. I can't think of a single example were the individual wasn't believed (with a little proof), outside of the episode dealing with Worf and quantum realities. But there, he wasn't traveling through time, but through different realities and he thought he was going crazy. Travellers and displacments off the ship: It isn't a simple tricoder scan that tells them about the time displacments. They need deep medical scans, something the tricoder is unable to provide. The series finale: Picard didn't reveal to the past Enterprise about his time shifts: He didn't want to pollute the time line. He informed the present Enterprise and they began to look for proof that it happened. He informed the future crew and they disbelieved because of his degenerative disease. His *** syndrome had effects on the brain including psycosis. The future believed that it was his disease taking full effect.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
Inheritance - S7-E10
Corrected entry: In Juliana's memory chip, Soong talks about how he felt about her leaving. So how did he record his reaction to her leaving into her chip after she left him?
Correction: In the episode were Dr Soong created the emotions chip for Data, he contacted Data and Lore via a subspace signal. The signal activated their hidden programs that caused them to do anything to head for that planet. He could have sent a similar signal out to Juliana to add programming to that chip. Or, he could have done the same to her. Brought her back, added the information and sent her back.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
When The Bough Breaks - S1-E17
Corrected entry: The Aldeans offer to provide the Federation with extensive scientific knowledge in exchange for children, because the Aldeans are barren. Troi, Crusher, and Riker reject this offer immediately, and the Aldenas kidnap seven children from the Enterprise. It's totally understandable that the crew of the Enterprise would be unwilling to part with their children. But are there not any human or humanoid children living as underpriveliged orphans, either in the Federation or under the awareness thereof? Surely there are many children who would benefit greatly from being raised on Aldea, even though no such children were on the Enterprise. The Dominion war and the Cardassian occupation of Bajor orphaned thousands. And surely, if given a choice, at least some of these children would choose to live in a place with new parents who would love and pamper them, thus avoiding any moral dilemmas.
Correction: That would be selling children: slavery. Giving children in exchange for scientific knowledge is the selling a person. The Federation cannot interfere in the societies of non-federation planets: The prime directive. They cannot simply take Bajoran war orphans and take them to Aldea. And even if they could, no society would exchange their orphans for the knowledge, see above reason. The Aldeans are unable to have children because their planetary cloaking device has rendered it impossible for them to have children. It sterilized them. They will no longer use the cloaking device for this reason. It would doom any child brought to their planet to the same fate. That is why they gave the kids back instead of fighting. The cloak will no longer be used: therefore, the planet's location will no longer be secret. Since it will no longer be secret, families will be able to immigrate to the planet and the Aldeans can teach them.
Correction: The key word there is SHOULD. There was a woman in Indiana last month who was arrested for DUI with 3 kids in the car. Her buddy, the high-ranking cop, intervened and released her. My cousin was in a single car DUI accident. The first cop to show up took him home, told him to sober up and come back out and report the accident then.
