Corrected entry: When the 3 girls go inside the Diamond Exchange to the room with the sound alarm, why would they have all three jump past the lasers? Wouldn't it be safer to have just one do it?

Jersey Girl (2004)
Corrected entry: Ollie rushes into the kitchen at the Hard Rock Cafe before his press conference and he's running late. He's carrying baby Gertie in her carrier, and someone points out that she has a dirty diaper and needs to be changed. He begins to change her diaper right in the restaurant's kitchen, and no one tells him this is unsanitary and I presume not allowed under Board of Health codes. Even if his staff members don't mention it, the kitchen staff (visible in the scene) surely should have told him he couldn't do that.
Correction: You would be amazed at how unsanitary a restaurant's kitchen can be. Way back in High School, I worked as a short order cook. The days I didn't work, the wait staff advised people to eat from the buffet. The staff would not have appoached the PR agent for Will Smith. Celebrity status causes people to do stupid things. And, just because it might be against Board of Health codes, doesn't mean it cannot happen. Crime is, by definition, illegal and yet crime still happens.

Total Recall (1990)
Corrected entry: In the scene where Lori is fighting with Douglas Quaid, it shows her wearing a pair of brand new 1990 Ladies Nike Air sneakers, even though the film is supposed to be set quite some time in the future. It is unquestionable that Nike would have updated its product or changed to accommodate a change in fashion.
Correction: There are people today that would spend a few hundred dollars to buy a set of 1900 Levi jeans to wear. Maybe she bought a vintage set of Nike sneakers. Look at Will Smith's character in I, Robot.

Who Watches The Watchers - S3-E4
Corrected entry: The Mintakans are stated to be at Bronze Age level of technology. However, while Riker is escaping with the injured Palmer, the pursuing Mintakan is carrying a 20th-century compound bow (a bow with pulleys). It is simply not possible to make a compound bow with Bronze Age technology.
Correction: Pulleys can be made of wood. The strength\flexibility of the alien wood is unknown. I see no connection between bronze age and a compound bow. Just because no one on Earth had one in the bronze age doesn't mean every single species in the universe is incapable of making one.

Planet of the Apes (1968)
Corrected entry: Amazing that the apes' dwellings are all carved out of rock, but they have a functional brass water hose fitting in the veterinary lab, and metal bars in the outdoor 'jail'.
Correction: Dr Zaius explains at the end "they" (the government) knows the true history of the apes and implies he knows the fate of man. How he used technology\science to kill himself. It is not a major stretch of the imagination to believe that the apes decided what technology to keep and which to discard.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
Inheritance - S7-E10
Corrected entry: It's been established that both Deanna and Geordi can detect someone who is an android, but neither of them detect Juliana's true nature.
Correction: First: Deanna cannot detect androids. There are certain species that she cannot read at all. Data is (suppossed to be) the only sentient android in the Federation. Second: Geordi's visor acts like the sensors. The sensors and medical scans all say she is human. Soon made her that way.

Mars Attacks! (1996)
Corrected entry: Kessler says during the TV interview that the reason the Martians went undetected by the Mars probe is that the probe didn't investigate the very deep Martian canals. There are no canals on Mars - the appearance of lines on the surface was caused by the faults of early telescopes, extensively documented in the 19th century and extensively debunked in the 20th. (00:18:35)
Correction: The movie is a spoof of the 1950s sci-fi B movies, just set in modern times. In the 50s they still believed there were canals. You could add that since there are no Martians on Mars, that is a factual error too.

Double Jeopardy (1999)
Corrected entry: There's another problem with the can't-be-tried-twice-for-the-same-murder aspect: every crime that is prosecuted contains within it a specific description of where and when it occurred - i.e., she killed him at 1234 Anywhere Ave., at 9:30 p.m. or whatever. If she then kills him again somewhere else later on, it's a different crime and can be prosecuted as such. If I shoplift from Wal-Mart tomorrow, get caught and serve jail time for it, that doesn't mean I can go back anytime thereafter and shoplift some more because of the double jeopardy clause.
Correction: This is already kind of covered in the corrections section, but anyway. You cannot be tried for killing the same person twice at different times. I'm convicted of killing John Doe in May 2004, but he isn't actually dead. They can't try me for killing him in May 2005, which I did. The first trial would be voided since the "victim" wasn't dead, then I would be tried. The analogy is all wrong. I shoplift from Wal-Mart today and the store/franchise doesn't disappear from the face of the Earth. Each time I shoplift from Wal-Mart, it is a new crime. Each time I kill a person, it is a new crime.

Alien Vs. Predator (2004)
Corrected entry: When arriving the base in Antarctica there is a heavy snowfall. This is unlikely since Antarctica is one of the driest places on earth and has less than 50 mm of snow per year.
Correction: Depends on how far in they actually are. http://www.antarctica.ac.uk/About_Antarctica/Weather/Snow.html. "The distribution of precipitation over Antarctica is very marked, with several metres falling each year near the coast but the interior only getting an annual snowfall of a few centimetres. After the snow has fallen it will be redistributed by the winds, particularly in the coastal areas where the downslope katabic winds can be in excess of 40 kts for long periods of time."

Hero (2002)
Corrected entry: According to the words at the end of the movie, this story took place about two thousand years ago. Mandarin Chinese has been around for about 700-800 years, and Cantonese has been around for a little over two thousand. So the movie should have been scripted in Cantonese Chinese instead of Mandarin Chinese.
Correction: First: Dialogue is delivered using classical Chinese grammar rather than modern Mandarin, although the words are pronounced in the Mandarin dialect. (According to the trivia listed at imdb.com). Second: This falls under the same "mistake" as "They didn't speak English in ancient Troy!"
Correction: Each girl, as stated in the movie, had a special skill to bring to the diamond thefts. We do not know how the theft should have happened because the fart set off the alarms. This turned the theft into a "smash and grab".
