Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: When Aladdin is talking to the ladies after his fall through the clotheslines, he has a beige fabric over himself as a disguise. The guard grabs a big handful of the beige fabric with the back of Aladdin's vest underneath. One sixtieth of a second later, the guard has managed to grab Aladdin, get rid of the beige fabric between his hand and the vest, turn Aladdin completely around and have Aladdin held in the air by clutching both halves of his open vest in the front with one fist.

Continuity mistake: Genie transforms Jafar into the Evil Genie. Jafar rises and grows larger to fill the giant onion dome of the Throne Room. The view switches to the outside looking down and Jafar as Evil Genie explodes through the onion dome, completely removing the top half of the entire dome. When Aladdin holds the Black Genie Lamp and Jafar comes swirling back down, the hole has transformed to a squarish opening 75 percent smaller than the original opening Jafar had made seconds earlier.

Continuity mistake: In the Arctic Wasteland, the tower rests very close to a cliff with the window high up on the side. During the scene, the window keeps changing locations, especially relative to how much the tower has rolled.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Prince Ali is lying back, face up on carpet, has just landed in the garden after dropping off Jasmine following the "Magic Carpet Ride." The guards seize Aladdin and turn him onto his belly to shackle him. A guard ties a gag around Ali's mouth that goes around to the back of his head on the outside of the fabric that hangs down around his turban. Instantly, it is underneath that fabric that hangs down. Also of note is the fact that the cape is secured under his hands, but as he travels down to, and then through the water, it is fluttering above his head. However, one of the guards could have pulled it out when he is moved to the water's edge.

Continuity mistake: Aladdin, Magic Carpet and Abu have returned to the evil throne room. Aladdin tries to grab the lamp, but is unsuccessful. Abu runs for it and is turned into a toy cymbal clanging monkey. Magic Carpet swoops down to grab the lamp a split second after Abu is transformed, yet Abu is nowhere in sight on the floor even though he was directly next to the lamp clanging his cymbals. Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Every long shot looking at the Palace shows a single column between the Palace ground walls and the Palace itself, just to the right of the main gate. When the Prince Ali parade is inside the Palace grounds and have started to ascend the staircase, several men carrying plates of gold on their heads walk past that point for an ideal view of this large column. It isn't there.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie, whether Aladdin is in Street Rat clothing or in Prince Ali attire, he wears the same exact waistband. It has two distinct styles that constantly change throughout the movie, with either outfit. One style is flat on the bottom; the other has a dramatic point downward in the front. The detail lines across it change constantly as well in many scenes.

Continuity mistake: Aladdin and Jasmine climb a ladder onto the first roof on their way to his secret home. They climb over the edge onto the first roof. Behind them is a towering, dark, reddish orange building. The shot changes to a shot looking down on the scene, and the building behind them changes to bright yellow. Once Jasmine jumps to the second rooftop and throws the vaulting stick to Aladdin, the large building in the background behind Aladdin and Abu has disappeared entirely and has been replaced by sunset skies.

Aladdin mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the sword swallower in the marketplace has the sword resting fully in his mouth. The handle is at least as thick as a broom handle. When Abu seizes it from the sword swallower's mouth and he is shown with it in later shots confronting the pursuing guards, the handle is now the thickness of a pencil. It was obviously reduced to fit Abu's tiny hands. The change in handle thickness is very evident when Abu places the sword swallower's sword on the ground.

Continuity mistake: One half of the Scarab is female (missing a half circle) and one is male (extends a half circle). Gazeem pulls the female from his shirt and shows Jafar. Iago snatches the female Scarab from him and drops the male into Jafar's hand. Jafar takes the female half out of his pocket. They aren't identical: the male has a head and the female does not.
