Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: After Aladdin has been captured, Jasmine storms up to Jafar as he is exiting his secret lair which is hidden behind a sliding wall. When Jafar realizes the Princess is approaching he hastily closes the door on Iago the parrot. When Iago calls out he "can't breathe" the pattern carved into the bottom of the sliding door disappears, but reappears once Jafar kicks Iago back into the secret lair.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: When Jafar is called before the Sultan to answer why he had Aladdin beheaded, the scene opens with a dramatic shot looking down on the throne room. You can see Jafar, Jasmine and Sultan from above. You can also see three large pieces of furniture on the carpet around the throne. Those pieces of furniture disappear entirely after the initial opening shot. It's easy to see when Jafar says "Marry the shrew" and sits on the throne, and the closing shot which is a reverse of the opening, minus the vanished furniture.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: When the King is stacking the little animal toys next to his throne, he is startled by a large door slam which causes him to lose balance and make the toy animals fall. The noise was from Jafar entering the throne room. But when he is walking up towards the throne you can see behind him that the door is opened about three quarters of the way, not shut or fully opened. Where did the loud door slam noise come from?

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: After the "One Jump" chase scene has ended, Aladdin and Abu sit down to eat the bread that they had stolen. When they spot the two street urchins, a boy and a girl, they give each one a half of the loaf. Later, the same little boy runs out into the path of the suitor for the Princess. His arms are outstretched with no bread while his sister is running close behind to save him. She carrying half a loaf in her left hand, which instantly switches to her right hand. When the shot pulls in to see her snatch the boy from the suitor's path, the loaf of bread is now one large complete loaf in her right hand.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: When Aladdin first notices Jasmine enter the marketplace, a side street or wide alley way separates the apple vendor's stand and the melon vendor's stand where Aladdin was sitting on the canopy, (easily seen in the opening long shots). Just after Jasmine is accused of stealing, the two stands are directly next to each other, against the same building, very evident when Aladdin first tries to turn Jasmine around to walk off. Then after Aladdin finally has convinced the apple vendor that Jasmine is crazy, Aladdin says "Come along sis. time to see the doctor", the side street between the two stands has reappeared, and the stands are at least several feet apart.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Just as Aladdin takes the sword from the apple vendors hand and passes it to Jasmine, the entire back and second shelf of the vendors stand disappears for several seconds. A blank canopy against the wall is in its place.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: During the apple vendor scene in the marketplace, the vendor says to Aladdin (while picking Aladdin up by his vest and spinning him around away from Jasmine) "She says she knows the Sultan," and Aladdin responds "She thinks the monkey is the Sultan". At this point the large, branched, canopy support on the left side of the apple stand is missing entirely.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: When Princess Jasmine enters the marketplace, a small street urchin boy is trying to grab an apple off the apple vendor's stand. She walks over and says "you must be hungry". At the point that you only see the boy's face looking up at Jasmine, look to the left of the boy's face - the apples he was reaching for are wrapped in a brilliant blue silk cloth. In every other shot they are in a wicker basket.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: As Princess Jasmine is sneaking out at night to run away from the palace, she is wearing a peasant gown with a small thin scarf around her neck. As she is climbing a tree to go over the palace wall, Raja, her tiger, grabs the scarf to pull her back. The tiny scarf has grown to superhero cape proportions, particularly in the shot looking back at Raja's face with the scarf in his mouth. After Princess Jasmine has stopped to reassure Raja that she will be all right, she turns to climb the tree again and the scarf has returned to its short, tiny and slender form.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Another mistake spotter mentions that Aladdin's patch on his pants changes location throughout the movie. Well it actually disappears completely in too many spots to mention. Notably, the part of the "One Jump" song sequence when Aladdin sings "Let's not be too hasty" and a large woman sings back, "Still I think he's rather tasty". Another obvious spot is when Aladdin states" I don't have fleas" and turns to walk away from the palace gate.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: During the "One Jump" song Aladdin sings "You're my only friend Abu", and the both swing into the harem. From the outside the window is so small Aladdin just makes it through feet first. However once inside the window is very large. A harem girl wraps a scarf around Aladdin and spins him into the matron. She chases him back to the same exact spot where the window was, and now it is a large balcony that the girl pushes him off.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Just before Aladdin jumps off the rooftop through the clotheslines, he glances down at the clotheslines and the street. Where are the three different canopies that he crashes through, 2 canvas and one of sticks?

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: After Aladdin has landed on the ground after he jumped through clotheslines, emptying them all along the way, Aladdin glances up and a guard on the rooftop says "You won't get away so easy". All the clotheslines are still completely covered in clothing.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: After Aladdin jumps of the roof while being pursued by the guards, once he reaches the second clothesline and has picked up a white bra, his pants are lacking the patch and are now painted mustard yellow in error for several seconds.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene when the vendor arrives on his camel, a door and window are directly behind them. The window is a large standard size and close to the door. After the vendor sets up his stand, that window, for the rest of the sequence is very small, very high up and located a ways from the door. This is very evident when the vendor says "This is no ordinary lamp."

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: As Aladdin has jumped off the rooftop and is falling through multiple lines of clothing, he falls to the second set of two side by side clotheslines, which he slides down (he has a white bra on at this point). Aladdin heads straight for a window. A woman hanging clothing out that window drops her clothespins and clothing and quickly shuts the shutters. From Aladdin's view approaching the window there are two clotheslines tied to a peg above the window completely covered in clothing. When the angle switches to the side to show the impact, now there is only one clothesline going to that peg with no clothes hanging on it. Also how does anyone hang clothes out on a clothesline that is tied to a peg on the building with no pulley? Do they go out hand over hand?

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Directly after the "One Jump" sequence, Aladdin rescues the two beggar children from the wrath of the Suitor for the Princess. The Suitor Prince knocks Aladdin into a mud puddle where he stays for several seconds. The streets are crowded with onlookers who laugh. The Suitor says "You were born a Street Rat, you'll die a Street Rat and only your fleas will mourn you". When the scene changes back to Aladdin and he claims not to have fleas, the entire street is deserted except for him. What happened to the crowd in 5 seconds? When he turns to walk away with Abu, Where is all the mud that was all over him seconds before?

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: When Aladdin is in the "One Jump" Song sequence, he sings "You're my only friend, Abu" and they swing into a Harem type room. The wall is covered with a giant rug weaving loom. It is in every shot. Then the matronly woman says "I'd blame parents except he hasn't got 'em". She chases him out of the window, The gigantic rug loom that once commanded the entire wall space behind the entire scene has disappeared.

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Aladdin is on a rooftop, the Head Palace guard states, "I'll have your hands for a trophy, Street Rat". Then Aladdin jumps off the rooftop through the clothes lines. Aladdin lands on the ground and just catches the falling loaf of bread when the same guards are already in the street several houses away coming towards him. How could they have gotten down faster than someone who jumped, then appear some distance away?

Aladdin (1992)

Continuity mistake: Aladdin has just jumped off a rooftop as being chased by palace guards. He has gone through several clothes lines along the way. He speaks to two ladies after he lands. One lady says "Getting into trouble a little early today, aren't we Aladdin?" He gathers a piece of material over his head as a disguise as he remarks, "You only get in trouble if you get caught". Just then a guard seizes him from behind, leaving the disguise fabric behind. As the fabric falls away, he is not wearing his hat. But when the shot changes and Aladdin says" I'm in trouble" the hat is back on.
