The Equalizer 2

Character mistake: Dave's wife refers to McCall as his "Army buddy" - but the pictures in McCall's house on the shore show him to be a Marine. Not a generalisation a Marine would make.

Suggested correction: The woman didn't know better. McCall didn't correct her, as he was busy addressing her other, more egregious mistake. And anyway, it was a cover story for their service in the Agency. A proud Marine might not take that, but a spy surely does.

Visible crew/equipment: After burning the car, when Dave takes the trash out there is a camera operator at the end of his driveway. (01:11:00)

Robert McCall: Man ain't spelled g-u-n, son. You got a choice. You got talent. You got a chance, and I don't want to hear 'bout your environment, what your momma didn't give you and the white man won't give you, no shot, you got a chance. Use it while you're still alive. You don't know what death is. You have no idea what death is. Make a decision.

Answer: It is never mentioned, but it stands to reason that eventually they did find out. York's crimes most certainly would have been made public, he is solely responsible for several murders including the murder of a police officer at the beach. There would be very little reason for the government to cover up his crimes since he was acting as a rogue agent.
