Best crime movie mistakes of 2006
Continuity mistake: As Dalton stands inside the bank vault staring at the cash, the scene jumps from a wide, distant shot, to medium, to close-in, just outside the cage. Another robber stands just outside and between jumps his gun position shifts from relaxed to raised to relaxed again.
Deliberate mistake: In the parking lot at the horse track, the old cars are so huge, they don't fit properly in the tiny modern spaces. They are hanging over the backs of the spaces so badly that the drivers would only have about two feet to try and get their enormous cars out of the spaces.
Factual error: Louis Simo gives his son an Etch-A-Sketch while taking him to school, and later when Louis stops by to see his son at his ex-wife's house, his son is playing with the Etch-A-Sketch in his bedroom. Both incidents take place in the summer of 1959. George Reeves died June 16, 1959, hence the investigation. The first Etch-A-Sketch toys were produced on July 12, 1960 and Ohio Art launched the toy in the United States in time for the 1960 holiday season.
Factual error: As the two fast boats start heading up river towards the finale shootout, one boat has its navigation lights reversed. It has a red light on the starboard/right side, and a green light on the port/left side. It should be the other way around. (The lights on the other boat are correct.)
Continuity mistake: When Ryan Reynolds is between the two hospital beds, preparing to pull the plugs, there are three wires he grabs to our left (two white and one black). He yanks all of them out (along with another white one to our right) and no plugs remain in the red outlet cover on the wall. But in close ups, as the other agents are banging on the door, we see the lone black wire is still plugged in.
Continuity mistake: When all of the dancers are preparing for the showcase dance, Nora walks in with hair that has her usual bounce. When she and Lucy are talking in front of the mirror, her hair is almost completely straight, sporting just a few slight waves. When Tyler approaches her backstage, her hair is extra curly. It has only been a few minutes, and there was not enough time for her to have curled it. This is confirmed in the commentary.
Continuity mistake: When Felicia and Brenda run into Lorraine behind the Armstrong homes, Lorraine pushes between them and walks a few steps. In the next shot, when she turns to say, "You stay away from my child," she is suddenly in Brenda's face, but in the following shot she is about ten feet away when she resumes walking.
Continuity mistake: The crescent-shaped scar which bisects the protagonist's right eyebrow in many scenes appears instead on the left eyebrow in many others. Same size and shape, but looking as if photo-reversed; for instance, when his face appears from the darkness to sniff over the shoulder of the red-haired girl, the scar is in the right eye-brow. But during the scene in the plaza before a huge crowd (the hanging scene) the scar is over his left eye.
Continuity mistake: In the garage scene, 02 pulls a pistol from the guy he beat to the floor and stuffs it into his pants quickly as his girl starts trying to kick the guy on the floor. when he stuffed the pistol into his pants the grip was pointing to his right pocket. With the quick struggle the shot changes back to the pistol in his pants and now the grip is pointing towards his left pocket, and no one touched it.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the guy and the girl are making out on the bed, they trigger a bell to ring in Kane's lair. The bell shown ringing is a large bell on the far left top row of two rows of bells. When he walks into the room to see which bell is ringing, the bell ringing is a small bell in the middle of the bottom row and the large bell isn't moving at all. Later in the movie, that same large bell is triggered when the kids are walking down the hall and hit a trip wire, and it makes a completely different sound than the first time.

Continuity mistake: When the guys in the Impalas are chasing Chevy and his girlfriend from the sweatshop, the last car hits the fence. Right before the car hits the fence a guy is hanging out of the window (meaning it's open). After Chevy walks up and finishes the guys off and turns around the angle changes with the car behind him and the window is up. Chevy would have shot it out EVEN IF the guy rolled it up.
Revealing mistake: After John and Nelson are led to their prison cell, Nelson walks to the toilet and starts complaining about how disgusting it is. When Nelson steps away from the toilet, he breaks down in tears and let's himself fall backwards against the 'stone' prison wall. The wall is seen moving, which reveals it's not a real stone wall, but made from a softer material, like wood or plastic.
