Visible crew/equipment: When Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore are taking their seats after the guy yells peanuts and crackerjacks, if you look carefully you can see some of the seats behind are actually filled with mannequins dressed with clothing. Continuity mistake: Nick's shirt he gave to Carly is way too big on her when she first puts it on. In the next scene it fits like it's her own shirt.
Revealing mistake: Whenever June is supposed to be playing the harmonica, the viewer can tell she is actually not playing it but just putting it up to her mouth. Her cheeks never are pushed out or sucked in by the air she is supposedly using to play the instrument. Also at the very end when she is playing the guitar it doesn't seem that her hand movements match the music that is heard.

Continuity mistake: When Charlie looks across the street and notices Viola and Ruby sitting for lunch and that Dr. Chamberlain is in fact a waiter, in the first shot Chamberlain hands Viola and Ruby a menu each. In the next shot he's holding them again. (01:02:35)
Factual error: One of Angel's lyrics (in "Today For You, Tomorrow For Me) refers to the movie "Thelma and Louise." Rent (the movie) is set in 1989-90. "Thelma and Louise" was released in 1991. This was caused when they did the move from Broadway to the screen. The stage show did not specify the year. So when they adapted the stage show to the movie, they didn't check the references. Factual error: In the sequence where the animals get on the first subway, it says they are on the 59th St subway. But, there is no 59th St subway in NY. The only subway station close to 59 is the 57th St subway.

Plot hole: In the end, when Charlie is advancing on Emily while turning his light on and off, the final time he turns it on, Kathrine is in front of Emily. How could she get there so fast without being heard? There's at least 4-5 inches of water that would make sneaking very hard.
Factual error: Halfway into the film, a scene shows Capote talking on a beige telephone. The receiver is a modular (plug in) type. Modular phones were not introduced until after 1966. The time frame for this movie is 1959 through 1963. All other scenes in this movie show the correct type of receiver (wired, not plug-in).
Continuity mistake: In the scene after the French General attempts to burn down the forest, Jacob throws the magical axe at the King's servant, who is attempting to kill him. The magical axe comes back and kills the servant. In the next scene, you see Jacob climbing the Tower, and on the ground you can see the axe, with no blood on it, and the body is nowhere to be seen.

Audio problem: In the scene where Phil starts to cry when he's kissing his wife, you can hear him say "I'm in way over my head" but his lips don't move at all. (00:34:20)

Continuity mistake: When Jack is asking Isabel out on a date as they're standing by their trailers, he's very excited and walking backwards towards his trailer. His bicycle is behind him and it looks like he's just about to trip over it. When the camera cuts back to him, he's closer his trailer door and hasn't fallen over the bicycle, but it's not visible behind him anymore either.
