Best action movie mistakes of 1999
Continuity mistake: When the Mystery Men smash their "Magnetic" Herkimer bus through Casanova's Castle's main gate you can see a number of the lights mounted to the front of the bus are smashed, however, in the next couple of front on shots, you can see that all lights are working and intact.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Jonathan picks up the scarab, it breaks open and the beetle inside starts to crawl under his skin. We see Brendan Fraser tear Jonathan's shirt and cut the beetle out of him. However, in the very next scene, we see Jonathan walking into the temple, his shirt is intact and there is no blood to be seen.

Visible crew/equipment: In a scene in a cave that is the lair of the "eaters of the dead," the camera takes an overhead wide angle shot of the "eaters" walking down into the cave. It is possible to see a young man wearing a burgundy t-shirt and beige shorts (a crew member), sitting against the wall of the cave cross-legged.
Continuity mistake: Close to the end when Edward Norton runs up to the front of the empty building and Brad Pitt appears, he tries to break the glass door by pushing a bench into the door, but it doesn't work. He doesn't move the bench and he then shoots at the glass and breaks it. When it shows him walking through the broken door, the bench has disappeared.
Factual error: The priest says that St. John saw the number 666 in his vision, but it was actually 999 inverted. I'm not sure, but I don't believe St. John read modern Arabic numerals like we do. Didn't he read Roman numerals? I think if St. John saw the number 666, it would actually be DCLXVI.
Continuity mistake: In one scene, Liv Tyler's character informs another character that they suffer from halitosis. The film is set in the 1700's, and the condition of halitosis was invented in the 1930's as a method of selling fragrances and deoderants. Therefore, the condition she refers to doesn't even exist at that time.
Revealing mistake: When the Interceptor team flies in their cargo plane to Mexico to investigate the UFO crash, several shots filmed from the front show the six of them all in the cockpit (not in the body of the plane.) They're seated as they might be in a car, three across, front and back. The window of the cockpit looks remarkably similar to a station wagon windshield, down to the large rectangular front windshield, and even the rear view mirror is in place.
Continuity mistake: Just as the final fight between Luc and Seth is about to begin, three computer panels are shown to display Seth's different approaches to crack the code he requires to survive. While the two LCDs to the left and right have the output of a brute-force algorithm simply guessing all possible combinations for the code, the CRT-monitor in the middle shows Luc's severely injured daughter which Seth offered to heal in exchange for Luc telling him the code. However, if you have a closer look at the screen it states "HEALING COMPLETE" (even with a blinking frame around it), although close-ups of the "Rejuvo-booth program" before (e.g. at 1:08:00) and after (e.g. at 1:09:24) this shot claim it to be "INCOMPLETE".
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Nick Chen (Chow Yun-Fat) talks to Jack (Jon Kit Lee) at the NYC Correction, the shot facing Nick shows him grabing Jack's face by the chin. The next shot, facing Jack, shows Nick's hand around Jack's neck. The final shot facing Nick again shows his hand back on the chin.
