Jurassic Park picture

Factual error: In the early scene where Dennis Nedry meets a man to plan the embryo theft, the subtitle says that they are in San José, Costa Rica. However, the sleepy coastal town in the movie within sight of the ocean bears no resemblance to the real San José (a cosmopolitan capital of almost 1 million people, situated 50 miles from either coast). Even the book makes this error. (00:13:10 - 00:14:45)

This Boy's Life picture

Gettysburg picture

Factual error: During the engagement of the 20th Maine in defense of Little Round Top there is a tremendous amount of firing going on as they repel charge after charge of Confederates. Yet, there is not a single leaf, or tree branch, that falls to the ground. With that amount of lead flying around there would have been debris everywhere. There are actual Civil War accounts where whole trees were cut in half by bullet fire.

The Assassin picture

Factual error: When Nina was given the assignment in the restaurant in the guise of a dinner outing, she was handed a a box with a pistol in it. That pistol was an Olympic-grade target pistol used in international competition. That type of firearms does NOT hold 8 rounds, and she fired 8 rounds before re-loading.

Dave picture

Factual error: In the beginning, when the President and First Lady disembark Marine One and walk toward the White House, you see the White House. The problem is that it's a set and only the center of it appears. The East and West portion of the main mansion are just sunny blue skies. (00:01:50)

Robocop 3 picture

Factual error: When Robocop first flies into the the battle at the end of the movie, the whine from his jetpack causes the glass in some windows to blow outwards. Considering the sound waves are hitting the glass from the outside of the windows, they should be blown inwards not outwards.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday picture

Factual error: When the FBI agents are shooting Jason, 2 things happen that shouldn't, 1. His machete is shot but doesn't move, the force from the bullet would cause the knife to move. 2. When the bullets hit the knife, they cause sparks, bullets never cause sparks when they hit metal.

The Sandlot picture

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story picture

Factual error: During the scene where Bruce leaves his girlfriend's parents home, it's raining. He leaves in a huff on his motorcycle and you can clearly hear the sound of screeching rubber on the pavement. Peeling out and making this sound would not have been possible in a rainstorm.

In the Line of Fire picture

Factual error: When Frank talks to Booth the first time on the phone and realizes he's at the phone outside, he runs to find him, only to find the handset swinging and the phone emitting the periodic screech that is heard after 1 minute of leaving a phone off hook. Seeing as how the apartment is three stories max, there's no way that sound would be playing by time he got there even if Booth somehow hung up first. Furthermore, even if it did take that long, the handset wouldn't still be swinging. (00:14:45)

Sniper picture

Factual error: In the opening sequence, the range for the shot is confirmed as 650 yards. Moments before the shot, AFTER he had his target centered in his scope, Berenger swings the muzzle of the rifle at least 10 degrees. At 650 yards a change of only a single degree in the angle of the muzzle to the target would mean that the target would have to move 11.34 yards laterally in order for the shot to hit. If Berenger actually had to swing his rifle ten degrees in the span of a second in order to keep his target in view, that would mean the target was sprinting at a speed of 340.32 feet per second, or about 232 miles per hour, and had covered 113.44 yards during that time. Absolutely impossible.

Amos and Andrew picture

Factual error: At the end of the film, Amos is shown turning onto I-95 south. However, he does so from an intersection, not an on-ramp. Since interstates are limited-access highways, in reality he would have needed to use an on-ramp to enter I-95.

Body of Evidence picture

Factual error: The DA says that Madonna is a suspect because the dead millionaire left her a huge amount of money in his will. He calls this 'Probable Cause'. For a DA and supposed expert at law, he should know that this would be a 'Motive' to murder the guy, not 'Probable Cause'.

Sleepless in Seattle picture

Factual error: While Meg Ryan is typing her letter to "Sleepless and Son," Rosie O'Donnell is sitting on the couch watching "An Affair to Remember." Any true AAtR fan can easily notice that the film's editing has obviously been altered by the Sleepless director - the scene with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant leaning on the boat railing actually takes place towards the beginning of the movie, while the scene of them looking up at the Statue of Liberty takes place about four days later. However, in Sleepless, the order of the AAtR scenes shown on Meg's TV are incorrect - Kerr and Grant are leaning on the railing as the sequence starts, then jumps WAY ahead to them staring up at the Statue of Liberty (which then would have been about four days later), and ends with them standing next to the boat's railing again (four days before).

In the Name of the Father picture

Factual error: When the convictions are overturned, the defendants' solicitor, Gareth Pearce (played by Emma Thompson) is shown arguing their case in court. In England solicitors cannot appear in the higher courts, and in fact a barrister presented the case. However, the film is 'dramatically correct' because it was Gareth Pearce who got them freed, and the barrister in question is far too full of herself without having the honour of being portrayed by Emma T.
