The Yoko Factor (1) - S4-E20

Question: At the last moment before leaving for good, Angel pauses to tell Buffy "I don't like him" [Riley], to which she replies with a large smile "Thank you." Why does she take this comment surprisingly well? From an ex boyfriend to her new boyfriend? It's not like it sounds like a friendly warning of any sort, nor a joke given the tense situation between the two guys in the episode. And the smile on Buffy's face does not make her response look ironic either, more like loving/caring. Is that a cross over reference to another dialogue in the Angel series?

AnthonyA

Chosen answer: Angel is saying that he is still jealous and Buffy recognizes that this is his way of saying he wishes that they could be together. That is why they both smile.

The End (2) - S6-E18

Question: I recently submitted a question about whether everyone died on the plane or on the island. The answer I got was unsatisfactory. The answer was they did not all die in the plane crash but on the island where the events in the show really did happen. If this is the case, everyone in purgatory at the end makes no sense. If they all died on the island, then where were other characters like Michael, Ecko, etc. Also how did Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Ben, etc end up dead and in purgatory at the end of the series? Last we saw them they were still alive on the island. Are we to assume that everyone died at the end of last season when the bomb went off? I need more info here.

SAZOO1975

Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.

Battlestar Galactica picture

Question: In the first main movie, Baltaar the traitor (as a human) is executed before the Cylon's supreme ruler; yet in the later movies (and probably the TV series, which I did not get to watch) he reappears. How can this be possible?

Chosen answer: The original BSG has something of a complex version history. Several versions exist, but the rationale behind what you're referring to is as follows. BSG, before anything else, was a TV series - the 'pilot episode' was a three-part tale called "Saga of a Star World". In that three-parter, a last-minute alteration to the script meant that Baltar was ultimately spared execution, because Glen A. Larson, the series producer, decided that he liked the Baltar character enough to keep him around for the rest of the series. The theatrical version, which was edited down from the three-parter and was shown in some countries before the US TV broadcast, lost quite a number of scenes, including the one where Baltar is spared. The real continuity of the series can only be found in the TV version - the movies, all of which were created by editing together existing episodes, miss out scenes leading to such apparent continuity errors.

Answer: Baltar wasn't executed... the supreme leader decided to spare him to send him on a peace mission with the humans. I have every episode... just watched it again.

Answer: Strange... given I saw Battlestar Galactica at the movies when I was a kid. Aka the 'pilot' you refer to (which WAS a movie shown at the cinema).

Reaping Havoc - S1-E5

Question: What is the song playing over the end of "Reaping Havoc", after Betty has thrown herself into the void? It plays at several other times this season, but this is the first and longest playing of it.

Shay

Chosen answer: The Song is Callled "Boom Boom Ba" and is by the band Metisse. it plays at certain points during the series. Mainly when George is looking over Reggie or in Reaping Havoc where it plays whilst shes showing her scrapbook "Mysterious and Reassuring" which is what she thought Betty was.

Christmas Who? - S2-E5

Question: Santa doesn't come to Bikini Bottom, but then Squidward receives a thank you letter from him and sees him and his reindeer in the ocean's sky. Why didn't Santa come before? The one voiced by John Goodman appeared in "It's a SpongeBob Christmas" stop-motion special at the bottom of the sea talking to the characters. Can somebody clarify this for me?

Chosen answer: In the "Christmas Who?" episode's intro, Patchy the Pirate is reading a letter where a fan ask if Spongebob loves Christmas as much as he does. Patchy explains they didn't always celebrate Christmas and this episode is a flashback to the first time Bikini Bottom had heard of Christmas. Santa had never visited before because nobody had believed in him before. Santa finally does visit because of Squidward's Christmas spirit. The "It's a Spongebob Christmas" episode aired 12 years later. So by this time, Bikini Bottom had been celebrating Christmas for quite sometime. Santa comes for a special visit because of how everyone in town, except Plankton, is on his naughty list.

Question: Does Salem ever become human again?

strikeand

Chosen answer: No. In the show he was sentenced to 100 years as a cat and only served 25 years at the time of the pilot (all episodes of him being human are flashbacks). The comics did several retcons to change Salem's backstory to fit the show's, and as of 2015, he was still a cat.

Question: I've only seen a few episodes so some info would be helpful. After running very fast and for a long period of time, why does the Flash suddenly become very weak?

Answer: The Flash burns energy the same way a normal human does, just at an extremely high tolerance. His metabolism is incredibly high and he must constantly eat to maintain his energy levels. If he runs at high speed for a long period of time he will burn his stored energy and become very weak.

Epiphany - S2-E16

Question: If Angel didn't experience a "Moment of Perfect Happiness" from his night with Darla, why does he go through the same motions he went through from losing his soul before?

Chosen answer: Due to his epiphany, Angel basically had the 'true darkness' he worked so hard to reattain ripped away from him, like his soul was after sleeping with Buffy.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers picture

Show generally

Question: How many different Power Ranger TV shows/movies have there been? To my knowledge, I know of at least 7 different series, but I think there is more. How do they all connect?

Chosen answer: According to the IMDB, there are currently 10 different series (with an 11th premiering in 2006). And, as far as I can tell, there have been only two theatrically released movies. All of the series, with the exception of the first one (that premiered back in '93) are spin-offs of the original, and they all share similar plot lines, characters, etc.

The Lonely - S1-E7

Question: Why did they kill Alicia instead of just coming back in a few months, when they could bring Alicia and Corry back together?

Chosen answer: I believe it was just to add dramatic effect. Shooting her could have driven Corry over the edge and I doubt an officer would have really done that. I'm sure that they have done this before (leaving an android to keep someone company) and they never expected a man to fall in love with the droid? Separating the two seems like cruel and unusual punishment. And another thing, being that she was an android I'm sure she has a memory module which they could have easily brought back to earth aboard the ship. It couldn't have weighed more then a few pounds .They could have reconstructed her likeness and installed her memories.

The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker - S3-E8

Question: Which year does Timmy visit in the 80's?

Chosen answer: 1986.

More The Fairly OddParents questions

Chosen answer: Her date of birth is unrevealed. What little is known is that she was found as a child (precise age unknown) by a Jedi who crashlanded on her homeworld of Rattatak somewhere around 40BBY (precise year unknown). Realising her Force potential, he took her as his Padawan and trained her for some years, only to be cut down by a local warlord before he could finish, leaving her to seek vengeance on the warlords who had conspired against him, precipitating her fall to the Dark Side. It's difficult to determine her precise age from all this, but if we assume that she was ten when she was found, and that was in 40BBY, then Asajj would be 28 at the outbreak of the Clone Wars. So figure on anywhere in a range a few years either side of that.

While possessing humans, he commits horrible acts to elicit pain, fear, and suffering from those who are around him, using that as nourishment. The Scorn of the Star Sapphire! - S3-E5

Question: It was said in another answer that the ring Star Sapphire has uses the power of love, which makes sense in this episode as her human from, Carrol, is in love with Hal Jordan. However, when Star Sapphire takes over and replaces Carrol's mind, she demonstrates nothing but hate and anger towards Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. So how can she use her powers with the opposite emotions?

Quantom X Premium member

Chosen answer: The Star Sapphires are agents of the Zamarons, the female species of the Guardians of the Universe, they are enemies of the Green Lanterns, which is why Carol has anger toward Hal. It should also be mentioned that the further a ring is from the center of the "The Emotional Spectrum", the more control the ring has over the user.

Question: At the end of the episode, where Melinda helps that lady (who meets the guy who got her dead fiance's heart), what was the man at the end of the episode (who was laughing and seemed to be a spirit) supposed to be about?

Chosen answer: This "spirit" appears in several episodes throughout the rest of the season including the season finale. He's a "bad spirit" that is intent on keeping souls trapped on Earth. With the death of Andrea (her business partner) he wanted to make a deal with Melinda, to give him HER soul to release everyone else including Andrea to cross over.
