Other mistake: The documents to which the Imperial Seal was stamped at both the coronations in Peking (1908) and 'puppet' coronation in Manchuria (1934) carry the same dates. Suggested correction: The movie doesn't specifically say this is a Halloween party. This may simply be a costume party which can and do happen multiple times a year.
As you stated, it doesn't say it's a Halloween party. In fact, there's signs in the room that say "Beaux-Arts Ball."
Other mistake: In the 15th minute, in the scene where the two gangsters first spot Michael Douglas, one is smoking a cigarette and smokes it backwards. The tan filter is visible on the end of the cigarette.
Other mistake: In Tiffany's converted garage, Tiffany says she's thinking of putting in a ballet bar, but there's one there already right next to the big mirror, where it's supposed to be.
Other mistake: In the beginning, Adaline's husband dies. At the funeral, their daughter looks to be about ten. But then when Adaline is driving to her parent's place and the commentary says, "Where her five-year-old daughter is waiting for her." There's no way the child at the funeral was five years old.
Other mistake: When Apollonia is smacked in the face by the Kid after announcing she's joining Morris's group, she falls into a dresser and knocks all the magazines off the top of the dresser on to the floor. When the same scene is replayed during the 'When Doves Cry' sequence, the magazines don't fall to the floor.
Other mistake: The movie concludes with George Peppard crashing a test monoplane. The shot is from James Mason's office, looking out over the airfield. We hear the sound of the diving plane, but do not see it. After the camera has been focused on the field for a few seconds, we see a large explosion, which is meant to represent the crashing plane. Other mistake: Rusty's attorney challenges Dr Kumagai by pointing out that Caroline Polhemus' had had a tubal ligation, but the spermicide nonoxynol-9 was found in her body. Kumagai is caught off balance, totally flustered. In fact as an experienced medical examiner Kumagai would know that at that time nonoxynol-9 was thought to offer protection from HIV and was widely used by people at no risk of an unwanted pregnancy. He would have thrown this right back in the attorney's face.
Other mistake: In the early part of the movie, Rommel is addressing his Officers on the Atlantic Wall. The "mid-shots" and "close-ups" are shot against a back projection. Rommel turns to view the sea/horizon and the view is exactly the same as their "mid-shots". The effect is a horrendous "jump-cut".
Other mistake: At the beginning of the film a bomber is crashing. As this is happening another bomber is stationary in the sky.
Other mistake: When Reinaldo first meets Lezaro Lima after winning "First Honorable Mention" for the National Book contest, Lezaro tells Reinaldo he can read any five books he wants. Other mistake: When Joe (The American Ninja) pushes the girl out of the moving truck, one sees the stuntMAN (playing a girl) mis-time the fall and land on a large clump of rock and dirt, after which, before the scene cuts, we see the stuntman curl over in pain. Obviously a very painful fall for the stuntman and a very very funny scene for the viewers.
Other mistake: In the scene where Willard is in his bedroom closet, he is trying to block the hole that Ben has created. On a closet shelf there is a Christmas Decorations box. The exact same box can be seen on a shelf behind his boss in the office supply room. (01:01:55 - 01:09:30)
Other mistake: In the scene after De Niro's car explodes, they show him being put in the ambulance feet first. Patients are always put in head first.
Other mistake: During one of the recording studio scenes, there's a short segment that shows a bunch of VU (audio level) meters close up. The very first meter in that sequence is not a VU meter. Its from of an old HF (High Frequency) Amateur Radio transceiver; The scale is marked for RF, SWR, and ALC. I'm suspecting that someone involved with the post production editing is a Ham.
Other mistake: In the battle for Fredricksburg you can see streaks in the sky from jets.
