Best comedy movie character mistakes of all time
Character mistake: In the scene where Steve and Josie prepare to leave to fight the giant robot at the beginning of the movie, Steve tells Will "Oh, Will, a reminder: a lot of the kids at Sky High will only have one super hero parent, not two." When he says "one super hero parent", he holds up two fingers. When he says "not two", he holds up only one finger.
Character mistake: On the day Rebecca arrives home, Junior Douglas says that he was "Valedictorian, Class of '95." Earlier, Drago talked of almost killing Running Buffalo "during that trouble back in the '40's," which would have been about 50 years earlier. That would mean Drago and McLintock were fighting Indians when they were babies, or possibly before they were born!
Character mistake: When Guy and his girlfriend are discussing why he loves the movies and how they help him remember important times in his life, Guy makes a reference to the obscure 1979 basketball movie The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh, and says how he loved Gabe Kaplan in it. Gabe Kaplan was never in The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh, but did star in a different obscure basketball movie from 1979 called Fast Break.
Character mistake: In the scene where James Leer (Tobey Maguire) is getting dressed in Crabtree's room, we at first see James wearing just a pair of white underwear. The scene cuts away from him for a couple of seconds, and then cuts to him again, only this time he is wearing black pants. He couldn't possibly have gotten dressed that quickly.
Character mistake: In the film, five items are stolen: the Magna Carta, the Turin Shroud, the Imperial Sword of Japan, the Pope's ring and the Pink Panther diamond. When Alfred Molina's character is challenged that they had found everything but the Pink Panther, he protests that 3 out of 4 is not bad, that's 75%. In fact, they had found 4 out of 5 or 80%.
Character mistake: When Casey is using her knowledge of physics to advise a figure skater, she states, "Pull your arms in real tight. That increases your moment of inertia". In fact, this is the exact opposite of how it really works. Reducing her overall radius makes her rotational inertia smaller.
Character mistake: When Frenchie is the only person remaining in the soda shop a guardian comes on and starts singing a song. While he is singing the song (toward the end of his singing) all the girls scatteringly head back toward the stairs. While they are walking up, one of the girls trips over her high heels. It is clearly shown, she's toward the front going around the back of the seat Frenchie is sitting in, around the round thing.
Character mistake: In the football scene, when the kid boots the ball to George who is upfield, he then hits it at the other kid, who is also on his team. There are two problems here: 1) The original pass would have been offside, as you see the all of the other players are still charging up the pitch. 2) When George kicks the ball at the other boy's face, that would have been offside as well, for reasons that are stated above.
