Character mistake: When Gordon describes Leonardo Da Vinci's idea for a flying machine, he mentions Da Vinci designed it in 1540. However, designs for Da Vinci's flying machines were dated as early as 1488 and Leonardo Da Vinci died in 1519.
Character mistake: Dr Stoppidge's first name is Ernest, but when Dr Nookey sees him at the hospital party, he calls him "Charlie".
Character mistake: When Bob Balaban is talking about how his ancestor founded the Mayflower Dog Show in 1875, he points to a painting which is meant to depict that time. However, the clothing in that painting is demonstrably from the 1860s - styles had changed radically by the 1870s.
Character mistake: When Audrey Hepburn confronts Carrie Grant by saying "Carson Dyle had no brother.", he would have definitely wondered how she came to know about this, and who is her hidden source of information. (01:16:00)

Character mistake: At the security guard graduation, the instructor opens a pouch of quarters and says to use that to call the cops when things get nasty. You don't need to put money in a pay phone to dial 911. (00:21:05)
Character mistake: In the scene when they do the weigh in, the camera man recording Ben does not even have the tape door pressed into the camera, so nothing is being recorded.
Character mistake: One of the latin chefs says in Spanish "Tengo un novia", when the correct way of saying it is "Tengo UNA novia". The way he said it sounds completely absurd.
Character mistake: When the coach is eating a sandwich in the locker room, there is a headline in the paper he's reading that says, "Diamond Backs rattle Timber Wolfs..." Diamondback is one word and the plural of wolf is wolves. (00:45:00)
Character mistake: After Maverick gives the "actors" their hundred dollars, he says "News travels fast in the Old West." Why would he refer to the west as "old" when, for him, it's the present? This is an expression that didn't come about till later on, when the west BECAME old.
Suggested correction: This was a joke, since it's a comedy movie.
Character mistake: Will Ferrell is talked into shooting his gun at the ceiling. Keaton comes from his office and takes his gun and gives him a wooden one. When he takes the real gun, he unloads the magazine from the gun but fails to remove the round in the chamber. He's a cop, he should know how to safely handle a gun.
Character mistake: When they are preparing to film the "Albanian Girl" fleeing the war the girl with the clip board refers to the actress playing the "Albanian Girl" (Kirsten Dunst) by her real name, Kirsten rather than her character name Tracy.
Character mistake: When Pinocchio goes outside and sees the sun for the first time, Geppetto explains, "The sun goes around the earth once a day." That is wrong. The earth revolves around the sun.
Character mistake: When Frank's wife comes to his office she talks about a 4 week cruise. When the ladies come in together after their fun night one of them says his wife is going on a 2 month vacation.
Character mistake: When Barry and Rob are in the record store discussing Evil Dead 2, Barry makes a comment about someone offscreen making shotgun ammo in the 14th century. That plot point refers to "Army of Darkness" (the third installment the Evil Dead series), rather than Evil Dead 2.
Character mistake: When looking at the newspaper about Chester Copperpot, the caption under his picture reads, "Reclusive scavenger claims, 'I have they key.'" It should read "I have the key."
