Death Grip - S2-E4
Plot hole: There is absolutely nothing that would give Horatio any reason to think the severed arm they found was from a previous victim of their suspect. It doesn't make any sense he would pick something as random as the arm that has no connection (other than it being found during the search for the girl) to the case.
All In (2) - S6-E16
Continuity mistake: The body is discovered by two teens fishing with explosives and an arm comes up in the water. When they pull out the body that was inside a car, the victim has both arms tied up to the wheel and at the morgue she is missing one arm. We can even see the doctor cut the tape off the wheel and the victim's wrist to expecting to find prints on the inside of the tape.
Other mistake: When Boa Vista and Wolfe find the blotch of red marker ink under the tape from the bat it's a solid big red blotch, they determine it was transfer from the killer's hand. Then they show Cody holding the bat and he only has a small red smear on his hand, not even close to the amount needed to leave that kind of stain on the tape.
Plot hole: Alex determines the actress is only about 18 because her wisdom teeth haven't erupted yet. The problem is they don't always erupt, I'm 32 yrs old and mine have never erupted.
See no Evil - S9-E3
Continuity mistake: In the beginning the kidnapper has a large build, like a football player, but later when he's in the van with the girl his build is much smaller.
Character mistake: When Calleigh is with the medical examiner, she says that "Togo" is holding down the scene at the hospital, stating the actor's actual last name instead of Wolfe, his character name. (00:08:25)
Other mistake: When the guy towing the boat at the beginning gets cut off by the black car, we see and hear him slam on the brakes, but the image we see shows no smoke from the tires, and the shot changes to when he's actually braking and the smoke appears. Additionally, when the other car T-bones him, we can hear both that car's tires screeching from braking as well as the engine revving from acceleration.
Dude, Where's My Groom? - S8-E6
Visible crew/equipment: Horatio's body doubles face is seen for a split second during the helicopter landing, he has the wrong hair and nose to be Horatio. (00:41:15)
Factual error: There is no way the gun in this episode would work, the bullet world be moving way to fast for the shooter to accurately control the bullet to the target.
Factual error: When Horatio is responding to the prison transfer van flipping over, he calls officer down into his Nextel radio. After he finishes speaking, you hear the distinctive Nextel transmission beep from when you would begin a conversation /transmission. If he had been transmitting his call, it would not have beeped after he was done speaking, it would have beeped before. (00:28:00)
Factual error: As the funeral procession is going to bury Speedle, they pass by Pacific National Bank, which is not in Florida, but in California where the series is filmed. (00:40:00)
Factual error: When the show begins, a man is run down by a Dodge Charger. The man's injured leg apparently cuts a bio-diesel line under the car. The Charger never was a diesel, and probably never will be. Further proof is at the show opening which showcases a very low-tone exhaust rumble which can only be a gasoline V8.
Continuity mistake: After the kid steps on the explosive, he's thrown into the air and lands with all limbs intact, but when the CSIs arrive his legs have been blown off.
Bone Voyage - S8-E7
Continuity mistake: When Horatio notices the Band-Aid on Nathan Cole's finger, and Dr. Ray asks if they can get a warrant, Horatio's position changes between shots from facing Ray directly then has rotated position about 90° and is looking at Ray over his shoulder. (00:29:35)
Factual error: Error takes place in the last few minutes of the episode when Medical Examiner Dr. Alexx Woods responds to the scene of a DUI with two deaths. The Miami-Dade County officer on scene tells her that she may know one of the victims, since the victim had a M.E. pass on the rearview. You can see that his radio, which we assume is department issue, has the logo on the lapel microphone of "SJM Industrial Radio" a radio rental and service shop based out of El Segundo, CA. Why would a police department in Florida rent radios from a radio shop in California? Guess they overlooked the logo when they decided to rent radios locally since the majority of all outdoor scenes are filmed in Long Beach, California, as well as portions of Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
Double Cap - S1-E19
Factual error: During their investigation, the CSIs learn, through a number of phone calls she made to her mother, that their murder victim was in the Witness Protection Program. Contacting family members is one of the cardinal sins of WITSEC; she would have been immediately relocated with another new identity, and not left in a city where people who want her dead know where she is.
Character mistake: While discussing the death penalty with Mac, Horatio observes that New York hasn't executed anyone since 1976. The last time New York executed an inmate was actually thirteen years earlier, in 1963.
Inside Out - S6-E3
Continuity mistake: When Natalia is talking to Wolfe in the lab, Natalia is leaning on a table on her arms, then stands up straight. In the next shot, she's leaning on the table again and stands up a second time. (00:21:20)
Continuity mistake: After Dave Penrod jumps from the rooftop to escape from Horatio and Mac, the pair reach the ledge far too quickly from where they were previously, at least a building away.
Continuity mistake: During the part where Callie and Delko are in the open mausoleum area of the cemetery, Callie snaps a picture at one area of the mausoleum wall. If you look closely, the crypt says someone by the name of 'Thacker' is buried there. Callie then says that the faint woman's voice that had been picked up by the audio surveillance (placed in the cemetery for the storyline with the suspect burying the gold, then getting killed) had occurred about "100 feet" from the spot where she took the picture. However, later in the episode when flashbacks are used, we now see the suspect woman uttering the words that had been picked up on audio, and she is standing right next to the crypt where 'Thacker' is buried, not 100 feet away or somewhere further away in the mausoleum area.
Answer: Earlier in the episode, Horatio tells Mac that Penrod was seen in Tribeca getting his leg set, only to bolt when he learned a nurse wised up the cops. Caine and the NYPD probably got Penrod's address from the hospital.
