King of the Greenie Board (1) - S5-E1
Continuity mistake: When Harm deals with the Lear Jet, his F-14's registration number keep changing with each different shot of it.
Adrift (1) - S6-E24
Continuity mistake: The USS Patrick Henry in "JAG" has always used the hull number "74" on the sailors' ballcaps, as well as the scenes of the ship. (CVN-74 in real-life is the USS John C. Stennis). However, in the scene just before the pilots' briefing, the stock footage of the carrier was of a different vessel, hull number 59. In real-life, "59" was the USS Forrestal (CVA-59), the ship that had one of the deadliest shipboard fire on July 29, 1967. The fire killed 132 crewmen, injured 62, with 2 missing & presumed dead. The fire raged for several hours & would have destroyed the carrier, if not for the actions of the heroic crewmen to save her.
Revealing mistake: When Harm talks to the young sailor about the lighter and how high the flame really was...he says "dial that up as high as it'll go"...keep your eye on his collar, and you'll see the tag on his shirt says "DAVID"...
Continuity mistake: The aircraft carrier used in this episode, the USS Coral Sea, had the correct hull number on the ballcaps worn by the crew - CV-43, but the hull number displayed on the ship was "65". CVN-65 is in reality, the USS Enterprise.
Continuity mistake: In season 1, episode 10, Harm is a Lt. Commander. In episode 11, he is back to Lieutenant.
Visible crew/equipment: When Harm and Webb walk into Harm's apartment talking about Harm's brother, a crew member can be seen.
Visible crew/equipment: When Rabb and Bud meet Elaine on the beach a boom Mic is visible.
Continuity mistake: Just before Kate asks Rabb if he was a pilot she starts to take a drink from her cup. The shot changes she starts to take a drink again. (00:38:30)
Adrift (1) - S6-E24
Character mistake: When asking Skates if she saw Rabb eject, she is referred to as Commander when her rank is Lieutenant. (00:40:10)
Factual error: In the opening scene the caption states "Antwerp, Belgium Diamond District", however, the street show is actually located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The building at the end of the street is the "Rijksmuseum" (famous for Rembrandt's "Nachtwacht"). Furthermore, the 2 diamond experts speak German. If it was in Antwerp, they should have been speaking Dutch or Flemish.
Continuity mistake: When Lt. Roberts is held hostage in Admiral Chegwidden's office with the Admiral and the Major, he mentions a sister named Winifred. She is never mentioned again throughout the series. In later seasons it is implied that Lt. Roberts only has one sibling, a brother named Mikey.
Continuity mistake: When Ducky is performing the autopsy on Lt. Singer, Vivian dabs a vapor neutralizer under her nose, screws the top back on, and puts it in her pocket. In the following wide shot, she screws the lid on again and puts it in her pocket a second time. (00:15:35)
Continuity mistake: When Mac talks to Webb at the end of the episode, she remains still on the couch, but then her hands suddenly appear up in front of her face. (00:41:35)
Continuity mistake: After Big Bud punches Dobie, younger Bud is visible having run around a corner to help break up the fight. In the next shot, Bud is nowhere to be seen and he runs around the corner again. (00:12:30)
Continuity mistake: When the armored car with the money arrives, the scene starts with the time 10:32 typed on the screen. It is full daylight and shadows are short, so this is consistent with the printed time. When the next armored car arrives empty, it is supposed to be one hour later, but it is pitch dark. The characters say that the first truck came at 17:00 hours (which would be 5:00 p.m.) and the truck before them was scheduled for 18:00 hours.
Other mistake: After the first meeting with the JAG team and Secretary Blair to negotiate The Return of the F-14, Captain Fuente refers to Meg as "lieutenant commander". Harm is the LCDR; Meg is a lieutenant, junior grade. It's not just a character mistake: Meg's shoulder insignias indicate her rank. (00:24:30)
High Ground - S1-E16
Audio problem: When Meg is preparing to join the Marines to search for Harm and Gunny Crockett, Col. Gordon warns her to cover her back. His mouth is very obviously saying "cover [your] ass."
Fair Winds and Following Seas - S10-E22
Character mistake: Characters occasionally refer to Rabb as "Commander", even though they know he was promoted to Captain.
