Corrected entry: Rory's age throughout season 1 is slightly strange. In "Pilot", Lorelai tells the guys at Luke's that Rory is 16 and five episodes later ("Rory's Birthday Parties"), Rory celebrates her birthday. This would therefore make her now 17. However, in the episode "Christopher Returns" Rory tells Straub that she is 16 years old, which would either make Rory 15 in "Pilot" or not turn a year older in "Rory's Birthday Parties"

Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers - S1-E16
Visible crew/equipment: When Rory asks Lorelai to call Emily to get her out of Friday night dinner so she can celebrate her and Dean's 3-month anniversary, a boom mic drops into the shot as Lorelai stands to get the phone. (00:07:05)
Emily: Well, uh, Rory, I don't think I wore the right shoes for the grand tour. Why don't we just drive?
Rory: You can borrow some of my mom's shoes.
Emily: Oh, no, I don't think so. Rory hold on a minute.
Rory: Grandma, you will be missing the true Stars Hollow experience if you don't walk. Trust me.
Emily: All right, but I won't wear anything with rhinestones or zebra stripes or anything that has batteries or that sings or make animal noises or moves on its own.
Trivia: In some episodes, Rory speaks Spanish (e.g when she is talking to her grandmother's maid). She speaks very poorly, typical "school-Spanish". This is just acting; Spanish is actually Alexis Bledel's first language. Her mother is from Mexico and her father is from Argentina.
Question: At the bachelorette party, Lorelai gives Emily a box of pasta. I didn't really get the joke here?
Answer: The pasta was was made into naughty shapes.

Correction: Now, I'm not sure if this is a correction, but maybe more of a theory as to why this is? I know that when it is like a week before my birthday, I go ahead and tell strangers, if they ask, that I am already however old I am turning. So then I don't one day say, "Oh yeah I'm 15" when the next week I have to tell them "I am 16 now". And maybe Loralai just wanted to give a rounded answer, or make the point to the man more dramatic.
When Rory gets hit by the deer she is driving Lorelai's Jeep, however she still hadn't celebrated her 16th birthday. In most states you need to be 16 to have a license not 15.
