M*A*S*H (1972)
72 mistakes in season 3
Springtime - S3-E6
New this month Other mistake: While Radar is measuring the camp, he says that last year they had 2,986 square feet, but this year they have 2,863 square feet. The square root of 2,863 is about 53.5, so unless the camp is 53 feet by 53 feet (!) his numbers are WAY off.

New this month Visible crew/equipment: As Radar stands in for MacArthur during practice, the camera and light rig are reflected on his shades.

Movie NutNew this month Factual error: In the beginning, Hawkeye says that the patient was full of shrapnel from a claymore. M*A*S*H was set in the early 50's, and the M18 Claymore was only in the development stages in 1952, and not accepted and battle used until Vietnam in 1961.

Movie NutFactual error: Radar gives the location of the battle as Longitude 70, Latitude 27. This means the Korean war has spread to India.
xx:xx:xx
jleRevealing mistake: When the tent roof caves in and the projector shorts out in a gush of water from above, you can see that actually the projector "shorts out" before the tent roof ruptures. The crew probably didn't want to risk the pyrotechnic devices getting wet.

Audio problem: At the end of the show, when Trapper is playing his instrument, the music does not match the movements of his hand.

White Gold - S3-E23
Continuity mistake: When Perkins is recaptured, Henry leaves his office with his cigar in his mouth. In the next shot, of him coming through the door again from the other side, his cigar is in his hand.
xx:xx:xx
jleRevealing mistake: In the swamp during the movie, Frank comes up and talks to Igor, who is running the projector. Although there is a film running, there is no film on either the supply or take-up reels.

Movie NutFactual error: Henry says that every Wednesday, his wife drives up Route 26 with some friends. US. Route 26 starts out in Nebraska and leads to Oregon. The closest thing that could be described as a "Route 26" would be the road leading from Princeton, IL to Dixon, IL which begins 85 miles from Bloomington. The writer probably meant Route 24, which passes about 20 miles north of Bloomington.

Continuity mistake: After Iron Guts Kelly dies in Margaret's tent, Frank Burns visits Margaret, suspecting something. Frank asks why there is a general's star on her cot. In the ensuing 'back and forth' dialogue, Margaret's hair goes (in close ups) from nicely combed, to frazzled, back to nicely combed again (and in a different light).

jleSpringtime - S3-E6

Continuity mistake: Hawkeye is in the Swamp talking with Trapper. Hawkeye leaves and walks past the tent - Trapper is not inside.

jleMad Dogs and Servicemen - S3-E13
Other mistake: Hawkeye, Henry and Trapper are playing scrabble. The board is in an illegal state - in the lower right corner 'it', 'jot', 'joy' 'yearn' and 'in' are not connected to the rest of the words. Since the others call Hawkeye on his non-existant word, I'm assuming they're playing properly.
xx:xx:xx
jleContinuity mistake: In one of the earlier episodes Henry becomes the father of a baby boy; his other two children have been established as Molly and Janey, both girls. In "Abyssinia Henry," Henry get his discharge papers and wanted to call home with the good news. He tells Radar that he will have to wait a while, as his son, Andrew, will be practising his trombone. As Henry only has one son, Andrew has to be the son who was born while Henry was in Korea. Even if Henry was in Korea from the very first days of the war, by the time he left his son can't be any older than 18 months - hardly likely to be playing a trombone.

Factual error: When reminiscing about Radar's appendectomy, Henry says it took a long time to find because it was behind his secum. The appendix is behind the secum in more than 50% of people, so this shouldn't have fooled a doctor of Henry's caliber.
xx:xx:xx
jleContinuity mistake: First, Radar is seen drumming on his tin cans with bare hands. After cut, when the hula girl appears, without interruption of the drum pattern, he suddenly is holding some sort of drumsticks.

Continuity mistake: When Henry, Trapper, and Hawkeye get into the jeep with Radar notice the style of jeep and its number is 16930382, but when they're driving to the chopper pad the style differs - things such as hood, antenna, etc, and its number is 11172419. Then when the chopper takes off the jeep's style is back to the original jeep they were in.

Doc
Factual error: When Frank sits down on Margaret's bed, he pulls a single metal star out of his butt. Kelly being a Lt. Gen, he should have (and has, as can be seen in other scenes) a single bar of three interconnected stars, not three single ones. Therefore Frank shouldn't be able to find a solitary star in Margaret's bed.
xx:xx:xx
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Hawkeye presents the Spam lamb to Henry, he sets it down, and Henry asks him what it is. Behind Henry, you can see Hawkeye's shadow - and see his lips mouth the word "A Spam lamb". The camera then changes to a close-up of Hawkeye, saying "A Spam lamb".

Doc
Revealing mistake: As Hawkeye calls for quiet in the officers' club, Henry pulls the tonearm off the record player, it comes away trailing a long wire behind it. Why would it even have a long wire to trail? After all, wire costs money too. It's not like the tonearm is designed to come off and be used remotely. My guess is: they lengthened it, so the shot could be taken several times without repairing the record player every time. Now, WHY they would do it that way and not simply use a dud record player is beyond me.
