Continuity mistake: In the previous episode, Monica's Christmas tree is up in her apartment. After the party, Joey kisses Janine. In the next episode, he walks into Monica's apartment and says he just kissed her. However, Monica's tree is down and they have all changed their clothes. Surely if he just kissed her then it is still the same night of the party, therefore the tree should be up and Monica, Ross and Joey should be wearing the same clothes from the party. (00:00:05)

As she says this, she is pointing her right forefinger at Janine and her right shoulder is leaned in closer to her. When Janine says "I was just coming over here to apologize for my behavior," the camera cuts to Monica, who is now standing with her left shoulder leaning in toward her. The camera cuts back to Janine as she says "I'd really like it if we could be friends" and then back to Monica for her next line, where she again has switched to her right shoulder leaning toward Janine. Continuity mistake: While Monica and Chandler confront Janine in Joey's apartment, we can see the drawing of the fire breathing dragon and the ape on the Empire State building on the Magna Doodle, then when Joey tells Chandler and Monica to leave because he needs to talk to Janine, the drawing differs - note the dragon's scales, its position, the building, etc.

As she continues talking just a few moments later, the same exact men walk past again.

Continuity mistake: When Jill drops her shopping bags on the coffee shop table, the small blue Tiffany's bag is visible on the end of the 'line'. But it is not visible in any shots after Rachel comes in. Additionally, when Rachel grabs the bags and leaves, Ross seems to pick the little blue bag up off the floor, though it is not shown how the bag got there. (00:05:35)

Continuity mistake: In the previous episode Monica had a very bad cold. This episode carries on immediately after the end of the last one (Monica's still in her dressing gown from earlier), but Monica isn't coughing or sneezing at all anymore. (00:00:05)

Continuity mistake: Jill goes to Ross' place, intending to make Rachel mad. When Ross goes to Rachel's to talk to her afterward, she rolls up her sleeves saying, "I'll give you something to think about." When Rachel is next shown, her sleeves are rolled down. Her arms also go from by her sides to crossed in front of her. (00:19:10)

Continuity mistake: When they're watching the vampire video, Monica, Chandler, and Rachel are sitting on the sofa, but in the closeups of the TV we can see the sofa in the reflection and it's empty.
Answer: Usually by the seventh night of Hanukkah you don't know what to get the other person, and you will probably resort to getting the other person something insignificant. Chandler is basically saying that the pen is a stupid gift.
