Continuity mistake: At lunch, Jim asks Beth Davenport to find out everything Ann knows about her husband. She is touching her necklace, but at the cut that same hand holds a mug. (00:09:10)
Continuity mistake: At the end, while the Bassetts and Karen Hathaway are at Rockford's trailer, there's still damage to the door's wood trim from the earlier shooting, but when the couple exit the trailer all of that damage disappears, between shots. (00:44:10 - 00:44:55)
Continuity mistake: While Rocky and Jim are at the trailer discussing jury duty, when George and Fran Bassett arrive Jim tells them to come in. In the shot facing them, as they climb up the exterior steps and walk through the doorway, changes occur; there are four holes in the door trim, there's only about three inches space between the shutters and doorway, the toggle switch is down. Next shot, the four holes are gone, space between the shutters and doorway significantly increased, and the toggle switch is now up. (00:12:40)
Continuity mistake: When Rocky pushes Jim to listen to Val's message, Jim stands between his desk and the wall then reaches over with his left hand (wearing the watch) to hit the play button, but in the closeup it's Jim's right hand turning the machine on, and it's from the other side of the desk. Continuity mistake: When Rockford is with Agent Kleinhoff on the tarmac, the airplane Rockford boards has N-number N664CL, but the airplane that takes off has many more windows and a Canadian flag (it's not the 70's Air Canada logo) on its tail; then the plane in midair has N-number N953GA. Mid flight there are more discrepancies in the airplane's configuration. Finally, the airplane that lands has the original tail number N664CL. (00:06:35)
Continuity mistake: When Rockford first sees Christine during her photo session, in the wide shot Christine is brought a glass of wine which she holds in her right hand while the white flower is in her left hand; then the wine glass and flower switch hands in the next closeup. This change continues to occur in following shots. (00:18:50)
Continuity mistake: While Rockford convinces Rocky to temporarily stay at LJ's, Angel fixes himself a sandwich then lifts the plate with his left hand and grabs the beer with his right hand, but next shot the items have switched hands in midair. (00:41:50)
Say Goodbye to Jennifer - S1-E19
Continuity mistake: Early in the morning, before Rockford heads out to the airport for a stand-by flight, when he picks up the phone receiver he holds it in his right hand, then it cuts to a closeup. This closeup presents three issues. One, Rockford is wearing a pinky ring on his right hand that doesn't exist otherwise; two, a rolodex suddenly appears beside the telephone; three, the right hand in the closeup is not holding the receiver. Continuity mistake: At the airport, there's a wheel chock wedged against the airplane's nose wheel when Chris climbs into the cockpit, and as Rockford walks away we hear Chris starting the engine, but in the next shot that wheel chock has vanished to allow Chris to steer the airplane forward, toward the taxiway. Continuity mistake: At the airport, when Chris is in the cockpit of the "blue and yellow single engine" the aircraft's N-number is N8825H, but when Chris is on his way to Oregon the airplane hits the water, and its tail number is now N4372K. (00:27:10)
Continuity mistake: While Beth and Susan are at the restaurant talking about Susan's company, in the shots facing Susan there's an ashtray beside the salt and pepper shakers, but in shots facing Beth that ashtray has vanished and in its stead are cigarettes and a lighter. (00:06:40)
Continuity mistake: When Rockford goes to see Diana a second time it's too late, so he begins to search her dresser. As Rockford closes the third drawer a folded brown cloth (scarf perhaps) gets caught at the top, but after he completes his search of the rest of the drawers, that third drawer is closed properly. The Battle of Canoga Park - S4-E3
Continuity mistake: When Becker and then Rockford get wet from the sprinkler on their way to Lee's front door, in the wide shot there's mail in the mailbox, but in the next semi-closeup the mail has vanished. (00:26:10)
Crack Back - S3-E21
Continuity mistake: When Doreen calls "Mr. Trainer" at Rocky's house, she tells him her address is "4615 Whitley Place, apt 103" yet when Rockford goes to see her to convince her to testify, the address "7352" is beside the home's front door. (00:33:40 - 00:36:10)

Continuity mistake: When Doreen is gunned down beside Rockford's car, in the first shot the passenger door lock button is up in the unlocked position, but next shot it's down in the locked position. (00:36:35)
Dirty Money, Black Light - S3-E22
Continuity mistake: When Rockford finds the money in Rocky's mail, Angel pulls a requisite Angel move and swipes some of the bills. Angel's lowest two polo shirt buttons are open, but in the next closeup as he shoves a bill into his shirt pocket those buttons are closed, then open again. (00:06:10)
A Bad Deal in the Valley - S2-E22
Continuity mistake: When Rockford goes to see his friend the preacher to ask about a new fence in town, the wood box that the preacher opens has the word "donation" on it, with the bottom of the letters facing the hinged side of the box. In the box's closeup some changes include: the wood top is now different and the word "donation" faces the opposite way, with the top of the letters facing the hinged side. (00:38:40)
The Trouble with Warren - S3-E11
Continuity mistake: At the motel, when Rockford and Hudson are walking down the stairs during the citizen's arrest, in the closeup of the scuffle Rockford is wearing a dark belt with a large rectangular gold buckle, but in the following shots he's wearing a tan colored belt with a simple single prong buckle. (00:45:40)
Return to the 38th Parallel - S3-E9
Continuity mistake: While Rockford is staking out Stabila's house, in a closeup he jots down Nejman's license plate number, then Rockford places his notebook aside. In this closeup note the Chevrolet Impala emblem at the steering wheel center (looks like the 1968 Impala version), though Rockford drives a 1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit with a different steering wheel.
