Visible crew/equipment: When Rockford returns to his trailer and begins to tell Rocky about his ordeal with the semi in Arizona, just as Rockford says, "It tried to run me off a mountain," watch as the microphone pops up at the bottom, right side of the screen behind the glass bowl. (00:22:55)
Trivia: Noah Beery Jr. Plays "Rocky" Rockford, father of Jim Rockford (James Garner). In real life, Beery Jr. was only 15 years older than Garner.

Trivia: Gilbert Green plays Jason Evers' father in this episode. In real life, Green was only eight years older than Evers.

Trivia: The bio on the back of the book (unsure when it was supposed to be printed, let's assume that copy is from that same year) says that the author was born 58 years ago. The man we see dead at the beginning of the episode looks several years younger. The picture used at the back of the book is from actor Guy Williams, who was almost 50 at the time.
Jim Rockford: Hey, I'm sorry Dad, you just caught me at a bad time. Reading that detective fiction doesn't help. I mean things aren't like that you know? They're not black and white. They're aren't any heroes left, they die young. (pointing to a book cover) His gun is deadly? Mine's in a cookie jar.
Beth Davenport: And Jim, try to be nice.
Jim Rockford: Are you kidding? You don't mouth off to anything that big. He looks like 190 pounds of gristle.
