The Simpsons (1989)

Answer: Probably as something ironic to play with the title of the episode. The title refers to the Jack Lemmon movie "The Days of Wine and Roses" which is a tragic movie about alcoholism and the devastating effects it has on the addict(s) and the people around them. Since Barney is drunk or drinking booze in every episode he's in it added a sense of irony that he was sober in this one.

Tobin OReilly

Chosen answer: The cartoon is called "Heckle and Jeckle" about two magpies and their misadventures.

Question: I have thought what B.B. stood for in the second movie. I have come to the conclusion that it is possibly for Bill and Beatrix. This would make B.B., but has someone disproved or stated whether its true or not?

Answer: You are correct, B.B. does stand for Beatrix and Bill. You may take a bow.

Question: Why did Professor Hobby, at the beginning of the movie, tell the Mecha to undress?

Matty Blast

Answer: The Mecha was in a room full of strangers, and yet, because it had no feelings of shame (no feelings at all was the point), it undressed without any concern of onlookers.

Chosen answer: To show how completely obedient the mecha are and that there is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to them.

She Used to Be My Girl - S16-E4

Question: At the end of this episode when Marge was imagining what life would have been like if she was a reporter, what did she mean by the "miracle on ice that never happened" and why did she scream afterwards?

Answer: The Miracle on Ice is when the 1980 USA Ice Hockey team defeated the USSR in the semifinal round and was deemed a huge upset worldwide. The reason it was a miracle is the Russian team was highly favored, having defeated the U.S. in a preliminary game by a huge margin, and this game with them was just a precursor for the Russians to get to the championship game. She screamed because now the US hasn't won.

Hair (1979)

Question: Did the actors do their own singing?

Answer: Yes.

Tobin OReilly

Answer: Yes.

Answer: Bill Murray played the character of Bosley and it was no secret in terms of the gossip from the entertainment shows like Extra, Access Hollywood and so on that Bill and Lucy Liu did not get along. From what I heard this was the reason that Bill did not reprise his role in the second film and Bernie Mac took over as Bosley.

Question: I think it's just a joke, but is the "token black guy"'s hair changing everytime he's on camera, i.e. afro, buzzcut, cornrows, etc.

Answer: He's supposed to represent the "token black guy" from a lot of teen type movies including the various hairstyles that were worn in those films.

Question: When Beatrix punches out of the coffin and goes up to the surface, how was she able to get out so quickly?

Answer: As she punched out of the coffin the dirt on top of the coffin was not completely settled and there were pockets of air that allowed the ground to stay loose. When she completely broke free of the coffin the dirt around her caved in on the coffin which allowed her a faster escape to the surface since most of the dirt was moving in the opposite direction.

Question: Could someone explain the joke behind ESPN 8 always being called 'The Ocho'?

Answer: There are many ESPN channels today. ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic. ESPN2 is sometimes referred to as 'The Deuce' so that is where they most likely get 'The Ocho' from (8 in Spanish).

Friends (1994)

Show generally

Question: I know that some shows/films changed their cityscape shots between scenes after September the 11th but did Friends? I noticed in an old episode from series 6 the Trade Center Towers are still standing. I thought they might have changed it for the later episodes, but are there any plans to go back and edit episodes featuring shots of the Twin Towers?

Answer: No I don't think so. Earlier episodes show the Trade Center Towers in some of their shots but after 9/11 Friends started using new cityscape shots, which makes sense.

Bruce Almighty (2003)

Answer: It's a time where Networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) have their ratings for a season tabulated. This is a time both in the late fall and again in the late spring where shows usually have a cliffhanger or a wedding in order to attract more viewers and get better ratings.

Question: Is there a reason why Uma Thurman's handwriting is so clumsy? I was thinking it would have something to do with her getting shot in the head.

Answer: Maybe it does or maybe she just has bad penmanship.

Question: How did Steve and Janet end up with the Walsh house? I know that Steve was living there with Brandon once the Walshes moved to Japan, but once Brandon left, did they sell the house to Steve?

Ral0618

Chosen answer: I'm sure something like that happened. Brandon (always being the good and concientious friend) probably passed on the title so Steve could live in the house legally and if anything happened like a fire, would be there to take charge.

Question: The Bride leaves Elle Driver in Budd's truck, completely blind but alive. What would have happened to her? Would the Black Mamba snake finished her off?

Answer: She could have died either from bleeding out from losing her eye, the black mamba could have got her or most likely Elle could have died from the exposure to the elements of being out in the middle of nowhere without the possibility of calling for help and not knowing how much food and water Budd had in his trailer. Since there was no way for her to drive off and being out in the desert, she most likely would have died a slow agonizing death through the process of dehydration.

Tobin OReilly

Answer: Tarantino has said that if he gets the chance to make Kill Bill Vol. 3, it will be about a blind Elle Driver training Vernita Green's daughter to kill Beatrice.

LorgSkyegon

Answer: During the end credits for Kill Bill Vol. 2, the characters names were crossed out, but Elle's name had a question mark. It's unknown what happened to her. It's been rumored for years that there would be a third movie with Elle returning for revenge. Blind, but with heightened senses.

The Simpsons (1989)

Answer: The frogs are saying Budweiser. One frog says "bud," the next one says "weis," and the final one says "er". This is a satire of a popular Budweiser television promotion that was going through America at the time.

Tobin OReilly

Answer: Then the 3 frogs were eaten by a big crocodile that says "Coors", Budweiser's biggest competitor.

Question: Near the end, when Erin saves that nerdy guy (forgot his name) after they are chased into that little cottage and they are hiding, Erin gets attacked and the nerdy guy runs into Leatherface which causes him to drop his Chainsaw. Erin who was previously pinned-down by him gets up and starts trying to punch him. Did she never think to use the Chainsaw which was on the ground?

Azureth

Chosen answer: Seeing that they were fighting a psycho mass murderer, if she had had a clearer head her first inclination probably would be to pick up the chainsaw and kill Leatherface. As it was she was most likely trying to get him off their backs and do their best to get away alive.
