When a Bowling Pin Talks, Listen - S2-E32

Continuity mistake: Buddy poked the punching bag with Mel's face on it. Then later Mel comes in when the delivery service guy comes. Mel's face is aiming towards the wall. His face on the punching bag keeps appearing and disappearing every time we jump cut from the writers and the delivery guy.

The Great Petrie Fortune - S5-E6

Plot hole: If Rob was just 12 or 13 when he last saw his grandfather (that's what they said in this episode, also he never called his grandfather ever from what it looks like) then his grandfather wouldn't know that he has been working on a TV program. (He started working on the Alan Brady show when he was 20, not before).

Suggested correction: First of all, it is Rob's great-uncle, not his grandfather. And what makes you think he wouldn't know? Off the top of my head, I can think of a dozen ways he could have known. He was watching the show and saw Rob's name in the credits. His brother called him to brag about his grandson. He read a magazine article about television comedy writers. Etc. Etc.

The Plots Thicken - S3-E24

Continuity mistake: When Richie asks Laura and Rob "Is dinner ready?" the door behind him is closed. Laura tells Richie "Yes, it's ready." We get back to Richie as he yells and the door is cracked open. Then when we see the wide shot of Richie, Laura and Rob the door is closed again.

Fifty-Two, Forty-Five or Work - S5-E13

Other mistake: Right at the beginning of this episode Rob says "9 years ago right in this office... I just came on as head writer 2 months was all... Buddy, Sally and I were sitting at this desk, writing a sketch, and you (Mel) came in with some special news." (so on and so forth with that line.) Rob, Sally and Buddy weren't in "this office" building... Didn't even have the same desk or furniture.

Fifty-Two, Forty-Five or Work - S5-E13

Continuity mistake: Rob tells Sally, Buddy and Mel "It was rough... Out of work, new house, no furniture, a baby on the way, 1 single dime in the bank!" In several other episodes Rob said they either already had a kid, or they were on their way to the hospital in the cab, on their way to the hospital in the back of a laundry truck, or were already at the hospital. They already had furniture in the other episodes when they brought Richie home from the hospital.

No Rice at My Wedding - S5-E4

Other mistake: Sam tells Rob "Laura could be late because of the rain". Yet neither Sam, Laura, Millie or Clark had any wet clothes, jackets, hats etc. Rob was the only one that had gotten soaking wet. Also when looking into the window he taps on the glass with a white glove (which he didn't have on when he got into her house).

Season 4 generally

Trivia: During the fourth season, actress Rose Marie suffered the tragic loss of her husband to whom she had been married for 20 years. Amidst her mourning, Marie felt that the grief and pain of loss was too much to bear and wanted to leave the show entirely, just before the fifth and final season. John Rich, one of the show's directors, was there to console her and convince her to come back and finish out the remainder of the show.

Show generally

Factual error: Rob mentions several times "I broke my cheek" if he actually broke his cheek we could see a spot there, either a divot in his face where the accident happened and was not fixed, or we would see a indent line from where they put stitches on his face. We see neither of these.

The Gunslinger - S5-E31

Revealing mistake: Millie (in Rob's dream) tells Jerry (Doc) that "Big Bad Brady is already dead" yet we see that Brady is up there trying to not move, laugh or breathe. He's still alive if his stomach is still going and moving the whole time. Also when he aims his pistol at Rob, he's aiming it at Rob's hat. Not at Rob's arm. Which is where Rob said he got "shot".

Love Thy Other Neighbor - S5-E29

Other mistake: Laura tells Rob that Jerry is fixing the fence. Then all of a sudden this banging that sounds like an iron hammer and chisel on cement starts up. If Jerry was actually fixing the fence it would have been the whole time, right when Rib got into the kitchen, not right after Laura told Rob that Jerry was working on the fence.

Long Night's Journey into Day - S5-E23

Stupidity: Rob tells Jerry "I haven't stopped sneezing long enough to take allergy pills" yet right after he says that, he doesn't sneeze anymore till he gives out his home address. He could have just taken his pills then. Someone behind the camera probably reminded him to continue sneezing. (00:16:52 - 00:18:00)

Suggested correction: He's exaggerating, but a character not taking a pill in this situation doesn't constitute a stupidly mistake (minor plot hole). I've been in situations where I needed to take an allergy or pain pill and didn't, even though I had a chance, because my mind or focus was somewhere else.
