Horse Sense (1999)
Question: Why can't Michael take Tommy with him at the racetrack with Gina and her dad instead of taking him to the Kiddie Zone?
Answer: Because Michael's family hates Gina's. They see her as a spoiled brat and not a good influence on Michael. He knew if he took Tommy with him, he would tell the family about not going to Disneyland but to the racetrack.

Ruthless People (1986)
Question: If Barbara had a dog named Muffy then how come she didn't speak about it the whole film? Didn't she even think about wanting her dog back if she decides to stay with the kidnappers?
Answer: So she's more concerned about her own life than the life of the dog. Or since she believes that her husband "worships the ground I walk on," she probably takes for granted that her husband will take care of the dog. Or she does talk about it but it's not important to the plot.

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
Question: I'm confused, was Vanessa a fembot all along, from the start of the first film, or was she replaced?
Answer: I don't believe there is a definitive answer, primarily because Vanessa being a fembot is more-or-less just a purposely absurd joke that by very design doesn't really make any sense. (It was a way for them to do a riff on action heroes like James Bond that have a new love interest in every film.) The closest explanation you get is Basil saying "We knew all along, sadly," which might suggest she was a fembot the entire time. But I wouldn't really think too deeply about it, since it's a very tongue-in-cheek revelation.

The Goonies (1985)
Question: How did Brand knows where to find Mikey and The Goonies at the abandoned restaurant?
Answer: Brand didn't know specifically where the Goonies went, but he got on the bike and went searching. Viewers didn't get to see how many places Brand looked before he found them at the restaurant or how much time it took him, but he probably biked down the one road in town until he spotted their bikes and then looked nearby. The fact that Brand apparently found the Goonies within a short amount of time suggests that there were relatively few places that they could have gone, probably because they lived in a small town that was at least semi-rural. Other than old houses, there were only a few landmarks (including the restaurant and lighthouse). There may have been spots that kids tended to gravitate toward and Brand might have had a good idea as to where they most likely went.

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995)
Question: Does anybody know who threw the darts at Ace? It couldn't have been Gahjii or Katie because they're both wearing shoes and the thrower was barefooted.
Answer: Since we don't see the attackers except for their feet, it could easily have been Katie or Gahjii. In fact, given the speed at which the final four darts were shot into Ace, it was likely both of them. They could easily have not been wearing shoes at that point.

Toy Story (1995)
Question: If the Toys always freeze around when humans present, then why they didn't freeze around animals like Scud or even Buster in the sequel?
Answer: The reason the toys stay still in the presence of humans is because they need to keep their existence a secret from them. Animals cannot speak to humans, so the toys don't have anything to worry about when it comes to keeping their existence a secret.
Answer: The film was made for children and to make them think that their toys are real and care about them, I don't think the animals really factor in.

Question: Why does General Leland use the gun to shoot a fly instead of a flyswatter? Why was he shooting at a guard?
Answer: In universe, it's likely because he's drunk and reckless, as you see him continuing to drink while doing it. Out of universe, it's a reference to the Confucius quote "Don't use a cannon to kill a mosquito."

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995)
Question: Why did Ace punch out the Monopoly guy? Is there a reason why he did such a thing?
Answer: The woman told him to try and "enjoy the fruits of nature", meaning wearing an animal as a piece of clothing. So he punches the monopoly guy out cold and puts him over his shoulder to try out wearing an animal.

Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
Question: What does Buster mean that he'll be put in a foster home with people who don't love him? What's gonna happen to him if he lives with them?
Answer: He was just saying it pessimistically. Although, depending on which reports you read, 1 in 3 children are abused by their foster parents. In addition, many children in the system also get placed into several different homes during their childhood (since fostering children is not the same as adopting them), leaving the children to feel unloved by their foster parents.

Question: Does the guy in the closet at Manny's house work with Dr Murkin?
Answer: He probably does. In the book, it is explained (after Larry is a dog again) that everyone in the town works for Dr. Murkin. He could be a realtor who lives in another town/city, however, I doubt that Dr. Murkin wants many "outsiders" around.

My Hairiest Adventure - S1-E11
Question: Why do Manny and Lily's parents move out after they've turned into dogs?
Answer: The book says that some couples would move away because they were upset when the children turned back into dogs permanently. Not necessarily because they didn't want dogs. It was too difficult for them to own the dogs that had served as their children for years.
Why can't they tell their friends that they're moving? Without telling them it made them confused.
The "parents" probably want to leave in a hurry and be done with the town. Even if the "children's" friends are confused. And they know that the other children could turn back into dogs soon, anyway.
Answer: They were couples who couldn't have children and were part of an experiment where dogs were turned into humans. Once Lily and Manny turned back into dogs they left the project because they didn't want dogs.
According to the book, they didn't necessarily leave because they didn't want dogs. They were too upset when the children turned back into dogs.

Up, Up, And Away! (2000)
Question: Why does Adam need to erase Amy's memories of everything that happened? Shouldn't Scott's parents should have a chance to agree with Amy to keep their identity a secret so Scott can have her cause she likes him?
Answer: I haven't seen this movie in a very long time. However, if I remember correctly, Adam was originally going to erase both Amy and Randy's memory to keep their identity a secret. The risk of them being exposed as superheroes would have been too great. It was only after Randy protested, upon seeing Amy getting her memory erased, where Scott's parents agreed it would be nice for him to have a friend to talk about his secret life with. Scott was more disappointed Amy's mind was erased because they had shared feelings for one another. He was afraid she would not remember her liking him. However, the parents accurately state, "if she liked you before, then she will still like you afterwards." This was evident when they chose one another to be co-captains. If they allowed Amy to keep her memory, it would have also prevented Scott from having any normal type of relationship with her.
