Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me

Question: So did Frau convert to lesbianism through the time after being straight with Dr. Evil?

Answer: It appears so since she was with Dr. Evil in 1969 and was with Unibrow (the female golfer) in the present time. She does say (after the time with Dr. Evil), that she would never love another man again - to which he replies - "That's right", referring, of course, to her future sexual preferences.

Zwn Annwn

Question: Once Austin has introduced himself to the two models, and they start photographing, what is the music that is in the background?

Answer: The music is the theme song to the TV show "Charlie's Angels".

Question: When Dr. Evil demands $100 billion in 1969, the President laughs it off and says that amount of money doesn't even exist. However, the U.S. budget in 1969 was $186 billion. Does the President just mean that much physical money doesn't exist? If so, how did the government pay for things back then? Did they just reallocate funds?

Phaneron

Answer: I think it was just exaggerated as a gag. But he was asking for a huge amount of money that probably couldn't get pooled together. He was asking for almost 10% of the U.S. GDP and more than 50% of the budget. So it would have been like asking for $1 trillion in 1999 (or over $2 trillion today).

Question: I'm confused, was Vanessa a fembot all along, from the start of the first film, or was she replaced?

Trainman

Answer: I don't believe there is a definitive answer, primarily because Vanessa being a fembot is more-or-less just a purposely absurd joke that by very design doesn't really make any sense. (It was a way for them to do a riff on action heroes like James Bond that have a new love interest in every film.) The closest explanation you get is Basil saying "We knew all along, sadly," which might suggest she was a fembot the entire time. But I wouldn't really think too deeply about it, since it's a very tongue-in-cheek revelation.

TedStixon

Question: It is revealed at the start of the film that Vanessa was a Fembot the entire time. When Austin tells Basil Exposition this, he replies that they knew all along. If they knew all along, why didn't they tell him? Am I missing something here, or is it just a very poor excuse for Austin to become single again and act the way he does?

Dra9onBorn117

Chosen answer: It's just a random joke and an easy way for them to write out Elizabeth Hurley and bring in Heather Graham.

Question: In the first film, the scene where Dr. Evil shushes Scott was improvised by the two actors. Was the "zip it" scene in this film also improvised?

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: Yes.

Question: Whats the music playing when Austin is running around the hotel because he has realised he is single again?

Answer: It's called "Soul Bossa Nova", by Quincy Jones.

Grumpy Scot

Continuity mistake: When Fat Bastard falls down at the end, he disappears once the dancers come in.
