Mad Max 2 (1981)

Corrected entry: It would be impossible for the Gyro Captain to completely cover himself with dirt and to leave no markings in the sand, no footprints to his location and leaving the sand flat around his hiding place as if the ground is undisturbed.

Correction: While technically correct, it has to be kept in mind that Max wasn't interested in broad clues or details. He was focused on getting gas for his car.

Doctor Who (2005)

New Earth - S2-E4

Corrected entry: The Doctor cures The Flesh by disinfecting them with a cocktail of the various cures created by the Cat Nuns. However, surely these cures would have no effect on The Flesh, as they were being used to test those very things? The diseases that The Flesh had would be the ones the nuns were yet to find the cure for, so even if the cocktail did remove some of the diseases it couldn't remove all of them.

Correction: The Flesh would respond to certain cures, depending on the particular infection. The Nuns were testing in very small, controlled batches. However, the strength of the cures in combination would have a positive effect.

Inspector Gadget (1999)

Corrected entry: Why does Inspector G tell no one that Scolex is the one who blew up his car (and, therefore, probably killed Brenda's father?) He clearly saw him throw the exploding cigar and seems to remember everything else perfectly fine.

Correction: As Brenda told him after he came out of recovery, he wouldn't remember everything, so it's possible that this was one point that he didn't remember.

Star Trek (1966)

Assignment: Earth - S2-E26

Corrected entry: Gary Seven transported down to earth using the enterprise transporter system. Because of this he should re materialise in the same fashion as normal, yet for some unexplained reason he comes from his safe in a cloud of blue gasses. (00:10:30)

olohzika

Correction: True, he used the Enterprise transporter, and people usually can't move when re materialization occurs. However, Gary Seven, with his advanced knowledge, would know how to work the transporter, target his safe/transporter (with vastly superior alien technology), and be able to walk out before the normal cycle was finished. This is due to the alien transporter being superior. In later incarnations, people can move while being transported.

Star Trek (1966)

Correction: The indicators for the bio bed would naturally be in different positions, indicating the different levels of Joe's vitals as they fluctuate. Granted, they were dropping, indicating he was dying, but until the body stopped, the instruments of that time would read out every beat until there was nothing to read.

Patterns of Force - S2-E21

Corrected entry: Kirk and Spock pretend to be filming Daras so they can enter the building where John Gill will give his speech. Look at the lamp Spock is holding. In the beginning it works, than a couple of scenes later it doesn't, and when they are outside the chamber where John Gill is, his lamp is on again.

Correction: Spock turns the lamp off and on as needed, so it isn't a mistake.

Movie Nut

Corrected entry: Leaving aside the many inaccuracies which have come to light since the discovery of the wreck, there are many details about the Titanic that should have been known to the film-makers. Including that the words "Titanic" and "Liverpool" on the stern were painted on, and not done in raised lettering as shown in the film.

David Mercier

Correction: In the historic picture of the stern of Titanic as she steamed out to her fate, the names Titanic and Liverpool weren't on the stern. They were inserted by the photographer after the photo was taken for identification, and to distinguish it from it's sister ships Britannic and Olympic.

Movie Nut

Corrected entry: Taylor got shot in the neck. Before his neck is bandaged, his neck is shown to have blood on it, but no bullet hole from where the ape shot him. (00:34:15)

Casual Person

Correction: No bullet hole because the shot severely grazed his neck. If he had been shot through the neck, there's an almost certainty he could have bled out, or paralyzed.

A Piece of the Action - S2-E17

Corrected entry: Not only do the billiard balls on the pool table keep changing positions between shots, but Bela seems to forget what the cue ball is for, and starts hitting the colored balls directly into the pockets instead. (00:08:00)

Jean G

Correction: Bela didn't "forget" the cue ball. He simply tired of playing around during introductions, and used the shooting of the regular balls as a signal that he was turning his attention to the matter at hand, i.e., Kirk and company, and what he could get out of them.

The Lights of Zetar - S3-E18

Corrected entry: Mira is supposedly weightless in the pressure chamber. But her tunic skirt remains perfectly flat and her long hair also "forgets" to float - it's hanging straight down below her head. Selective anti-gravity? (00:44:50)

Jean G

Correction: If she were lying flat on a surface, with her hair hanging down, when the anti gravity was activated, the cloth and hair would remain in this original position due to the absence of any gravity to affect their position. There are many videos of objects in weightlessness where astronauts placing an object in a spot in front of them, and it staying put, unless it were given motion from the touch of the astronaut.

Movie Nut

Corrected entry: The comet entity can make weaponry operate/shoot like the machine gun and electric knife. The arsenal of guns in the basement and rocket launcher doesn't work, however.

William Bergquist

Correction: The machine gun was mounted on a mobile platform, and the knife was the first sign that electric appliances were affected at the truck stop. The cache of weapons did work, as evidenced by Bill and company using them to get to the sailboat.

Mad Max 2 (1981)

Corrected entry: When Max gets out of the Interceptor at the end of the opening chase and runs back to the truck, look at his belt - he has a small axe attached to it, directly in the middle with the handle hanging straight down, which would make it impossible for him to sit in the car.

Correction: True, but how do you know he didn't put it there just after his boots are shown hitting the road?

Movie Nut

Correction: Continuous scene of his boots hitting the ground and running back at no point does he stop to put it there.

Correction: While it is true that the computer said right rather than left, Riker turned around in the intersection facing the way he came, so the hatch was on his right. It seems thought the computer gave directions a beat before he turned, but the result is the same.

Movie Nut

The result may be the same, but the original entry is (I should use another word maybe) right. As the correction itself says, the computer says the word "Right", and does it while Riker is walking down the corridor. There is no way it would predict that Riker then would stop after the instruction has been issued and face another direction, and at the point where he stops, the hatchway is not directly to his right, but rather behind him so he has to turn, walk a few steps, still to his left. Sure turning 270° right can produce the same result as turning 90° left, but I wouldn't say is correct.

The Truman Show (1998)

The Truman Show mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the lamp falls, an aerial angle shows that the street is in the shadows. In the following angle the street is sunny. (00:03:15)

Sacha

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: As the lamp hits the road, the shadows of the houses and posts are regular. When the angle changes to look at Truman from between the posts, the shadows haven't changed. Only the angle we're looking at him, and so the angle we see the shadows.

Miri - S1-E9

Corrected entry: When Spock goes outside to scan the area he looks at the building directly in front of him, but when the child rubs away the dirt on the window Spock is seen looking at the ground to his right. But in the next shot Spock is looking directly at the building again.

jbrbbt

Correction: When Spock comes out, and sends the guards off, he begins to look at, and scan with, his tricorder, and routinely glancing at the buildings, keeping mindful of possible attack in a possibly hostile situation. When seen through to cleaned spot, he is still performing the actions.

The Apple - S2-E5

Corrected entry: Kirk orders Marple to cut around a rock to the right and make a noise to distract their observer. But the actor appears to slightly screw up his cue: Marple promptly traverses the rock to the left instead of the right. (00:16:45)

Jean G

Correction: Kirk indicated to Marple and Chekhov that someone or something was behind the rock that Spock nodded towards to show Kirk where their "friend" was. Kirk told Marple to "cut around the rock to your right", meaning the the man go around the indicated rock (behind Spock) so that his movements would be to his right, thereby keeping the rock to his right.

Men in Black 3 (2012)

Corrected entry: When J arrives in Coney Island in 1969, the Wonder Wheel has a big American flag right below the ferris wheel's name. The Wonder Wheel didn't have the flag until some time in 2011, marking the 10th anniversary of 9/11. (00:41:50)

BrooklynBarracuda

Correction: If looked at closely, the flag pole and flag are not below the Wonder Wheel name. Rather, it is some distance in front of it, between the wheel, and Deno's Snack Bar. So it's not the memorial flag, but a randomly-displayed one.

Men in Black 3 (2012)

Corrected entry: While J is fighting the fish, and it has him pinned against the wall outside, there is an ATM-like machine beside them. When J rips out the creature's heart, it falls over towards the machine. The fish's shadow is cast on the wall, but as it passes over the ATM, no shadow falls on the machine. (00:16:55)

Quantom X

Correction: The fish does have a shadow as it falls, but it falls about ten feet from the ATM, and the shadow trails accordingly. If you follow the arc of the shadow as it falls, it's on a flat surface, and the ATM sticks out about three feet. Therefore, the shadow would have gone along the side away from the camera's view, and not in front of the machine.

Movie Nut

Corrected entry: Near the end of the movie when Max and the gang are in underworld, the guy with the mask hanging above his head gets knocked into the pig poop, gets completely covered and also loses his mask. Later in the next scene, he is not only cleaner but has his mask back and completely clean with no traces of ever being covered in poop. In the film he should not have had enough time or water to clean up.

Correction: Look closely. Even though it looks like he lost the mask, it was mounted on a rod, and the rod strapped or affixed to his clothing. However, it was not tight against his back, and could seen flopping somewhat. So therefore, it was under the surface in the vat of poop, and he had sat up enough to get his head up to breathe, but not enough to see the mask.
