Revealing mistake: When the fireworks explode in the basement, there is a shot of Melville running up to and jumping over a counter to take cover. In the shot, we can see that he has been replaced with a stunt double. (01:38:30)

Revealing mistake: When Finch pokes Hawthorne in the eyes with his fingers during their fight, Finch's fingers miss Hawthorne's eyes and instead touch the corner of his face. (01:25:43)

Revealing mistake: In the garage fight scene, the two mechanics are shown attempting to flee by rolling underneath the garage door and Pike following them the same way. The camera then holds on the garage door before the two mechanics are thrown through it. Just before the mechanics go through the door, there is a visible shift in the appearance of the door revealing that this supposed one single shot is actually two separate shots spliced together. (00:55:34)

Revealing mistake: The two mechanics hide in two toilet stalls to hide from Pike. When Pike punches through the door and the two stalls collapse, we can see that there is nothing inside, revealing that they are fake props and not real toilet stalls. (00:54:05)

Revealing mistake: At the garage, just after Pike breaks free from his restraints, he crashes through a wall. Right before the wall breaks, a faint line in the shape of a human body can be seen around the area Pike crashes through, revealing it was pre-cut before filming. (00:53:09)

Revealing mistake: In the opening credits, just after the credits for Director of Photography, Production Design and Art Director are shown, the globe in the centre of the frame shifts downwards and to the left by an inch when the credits for Film Editors, Assistant to the Director, Assistant to the Producer, Production Manager (and many others) appear on screen. Perfect Blue (1997)

Revealing mistake: Whilst Rei and Yukiko are talking about Mima's photoshoot, there is a mirror shown next to them, as well as many objects shown on a counter beside the mirror. In the shot where Yukiko says Mima can't wait to strip in front of the photographer, the objects shown on the counter don't align with the reflection in the mirror. A box of tissues can be seen in the mirror reflection, but no box of tissues can be seen on the counter. There is a makeup box and a blue bottle with a white top shown on the counter that are both reflected in the mirror, but the box of tissues reflected in the mirror cannot be seen on the counter. Revealing mistake: Whilst Mima is crying in her apartment after filming the rape scene, she throws her duvet cover across the room. When the duvet lands on the ground, the part of the duvet positioned in the bottom right corner of the bed can be seen unnaturally sticking upwards and not lying against the bed or the floor like the rest of the duvet. Hubie Halloween (2020)

Revealing mistake: When Maya Rudolph and Tim Meadows are in their car at the drive-in theatre, whilst Maya Rudolph says "We got Hubie Dubois spying on everybody", there is a close-up shot of the wing mirror with Hubie's car reflected in it, along with several other cars and a building in the background also reflected. Despite being a reflection, any text or numbers reflected in the mirror are not reversed. The number plate on Hubie's car is spelled out forwards, and the sign "Salem Drive In" on the building in the background is spelled forwards also, and not reversed as they normally would be in a reflection. Revealing mistake: When Mima sees the train passing by outside the window, a white shirt can be seen hanging onto a wardrobe door in the reflection of the window. We are then shown a shot in front of Mima walking away from the window and the shirt hanging onto the wardrobe is now black. (01:09:42)

Suggested correction: This isn't an error, just a common stylistic choice in a lot of animated films.

Perfect Blue (1997)

Revealing mistake: When the screenwriter hears the music playing, there is a wide shot of the parking lot he is in. In the shot, many of the number plates on the cars do not have any numbers or letters drawn onto them. There is a white car beside the elevator that has a very faint M and the start of another letter beside it, but is incomplete. And the number plates on the cars facing opposite the screenwriter do not have any numbers or letters at all. (00:41:47)

Revealing mistake: Whilst they are filming the rape scene, after the director yells cut, he tells the actor playing the rapist to do it faster. The actor who plays the rapist then lifts his head and apologises, and we can see that he has been drawn without a face. (00:33:34)

Revealing mistake: When Mima begins performing her final song at the CHAM concert, there is a shot of three audience members at the front talking with one another. In the shot, the stalker character walks into frame. In the first few frames when he first appears, there are two drops of blood on the right hand side of his face. But these drops of blood were not drawn into every single frame of the shot, as they pop off his face mid-way through the shot. (00:08:07)

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When the warden has finished shoving the inmate's arm into the meat grinder, there is a shot of the warden pulling the inmate away from the grinder and showing him the tray of meat made from his arm. In the shot, we can see that the inmate's face has been covered in white powder to make him appear as if his face has gone pale due to the blood loss, but it makes his face look completely unnatural, and not at all how a human face would ever appear in a situation like that. Revealing mistake: Whilst the cell is filling with cement, Ricky runs over to the steel door and bursts through it to escape. In the shot of him bursting through the door, we can see that the interior of the door is extremely thin and is barely a millimeter deep, revealing that it is a fake prop door and not steel. Revealing mistake: In the shot where Ricky punches the prison wall, a split-second before Ricky punches it, a faint outline can be seen to the right of him that gets blasted out of the wall a second later, revealing where the wall was filled in with fake debris and later plastered over. (01:29:59)

Revealing mistake: Whilst Rumi is speaking with the producer about Mima, a man comes into the room to talk about how the new CHAM is coming along.
