Other mistake: As Plisken escapes in the hijacked chopper, Quervo Jones picks up a bazooka and prepares to fire on it. As Fast Eddy shoots him through the chest, watch the bazooka. You can see right through the barrel. In other words, there is no ammo in the weapon. (01:25:05)

Other mistake: When Snake starts up the sub, the turbine is referred to as being at 75% power. The display shows "0.75" which is 75%, but there is also a "%" symbol above the numbers. Either the display is bizarrely constructed or the power output is stated incorrectly. (00:21:20)

Continuity mistake: When Cuervo takes out Snake with the bolo on the racing cars, Snake falls to the ground; he is wearing his leather coat. When the camera shows him hitting the ground, the coat is completely off one arm, allowing it to be slipped off by the bad guy. (00:33:25)

Factual error: When Snake crashes the chopper in the final scene, it is going down nose-first, and just the nose hits the ground. The explosion area would be (approximately) 10 sq. feet and expanding outward from that spot. But the initial explosion is down the whole length of the chopper with the grass exploding into fireballs. (01:27:20)

Continuity mistake: When Hiram, Juan and Kelly first see Old Fred's wagon in the distance, the white tarp on it is draped across it and down one side. When they arrive at it, it's draped differently. Continuity mistake: In the scene where Ethan Hawke is talking through the safety glass in the barricade to the polite leader of the gang outside, the leader shoots the loud-mouth guy standing to the right of him, using the pistol in his left hand across his chest. Continuity mistake: After Quinn bumps his head, he touches the wound with his left hand and his watch is turned around so the face looking inward. In the very next shot, from a different angle, he resumes touching his head but the watch has turned around to the standard position.

Revealing mistake: When Tony is telling Gibbs & Ducky that Abby got a hit on the dead sailor's fingerprints, Gibbs takes the file from Tony; the camera shows the file, which appears to be a legitimate profile sheet, but in the comments section, is the script that Tony just read aloud. (00:07:36)
