The American (2010)

Corrected entry: When Mathilde fires at George Clooney in the final scene, the rifle blows up in her face causing a wound like she's been shot through the right eye. However, as she was using a telescopic sight, the explosion from the gun would have hit her face from below, near the jaw.

Correction: The chamber explosion blows the telescopic sight off, turning in into a projectile which shoots inte her right eye.

Bravo Two Zero (1999)

Correction: "Ray", "Tony" and "Baz" are Bob, Vince and Legs, the three patrol members who got killed. They changed the names in the movie. Look at the published pictures of the three, they kept the physical appearance and you can easily compare the roles with those in the book.

Airborne60

Corrected entry: Kovic mentions on the beach that he is into his second tour in Vietnam, yet he does not wear the Combat Infantryman's Badge at any time on his uniform.

Airborne60

Correction: The CIB is awarded to Army and Special Forces personell, not to the Marines.

Airborne60

Corrected entry: Fowler has not been informed how and when Pyle would be killed, in fact he was only able to guess from Hinh's hints that a murder is planned. But when he arrives at the Vieux Moulin where he was asked to meet Pyle he only requests a table for one, something that's held against him later when inspector Vigot interrogates him. (01:18:35)

Correction: Reading the book by Graham Greene, Fowler knows that Pyle is never going to join him in the restaurant, that is part of the subtility of the story. The single table reservation is a mistake by Fowler, implicating him, but it is not a movie mistake.

Airborne60

Corrected entry: As a signal to the assassins, Pyle was asked to show himself on the balcony with a book in his hand. This is supposed to indicate that he would be having dinner with Pyle at the Vieux Moulin. However, he gives the signal before he has asked Pyle to meet, therefore not yet sure if the dinner would work out as planned. (01:17:35)

Correction: Mistake, yes but not a movie mistake. Fowler does exactly that in the book written by Graham Greene.

Airborne60

Corrected entry: After Fowler twists his ankle, there is a scene in which he's in an office-like place with a walking stick, yelling and limping. While he's yelling, watch his 'hurt' leg. He walks using it without the cane at least 3 times.

Correction: Even with a severely twisted ankle it is possible to walk a few steps without support. The obvious absence of pain indicates that his injury was less severe. More of a character issue with Fowler than a movie mistake.

The Hurt Locker (2008)

Corrected entry: When Sanford takes over the Barret sniper rifle from the killed (presumably) Blackwater guy, he takes position exactly where he got killed. Sanford appears to have sniper skills, as well as James as he immediately takes the spotter position. Given that they otherwise do not appear overly stressed, it would be highly unlikely to appear at the very same position. They should have changed position after the first kill.

Correction: Correcting my own entry here; The bomb squad members are trained in using the Barrett sniper rifle, to destroy bombs at long range. But as they are not actually fully sniper trained, they make all the mistakes already mentioned; taking the same position as a previous hostile, not realising that they could have used the .50 cal bullets to devaste or disturb the enemy position much easier and fumbling with the ammunition whilst being exposed.

Airborne60

Corrected entry: In the scenes where the Ghost Writer is driving to Professor Emmett's house, the BMW's navigation system immediately begins providing the Ghost with audible directions. If the Ghost's predecessor travelled to Professor Emmett's and was killed at some point on his return, the BMW navigation system would not still be trying to guide a driver to that destination again. First off, the BMW navigation system resets once the destination is reached - it stops providing audible guidance. Second, even if it did not reset, there is no way that any driver would have put up with listening to the GPS guidance system trying to redirect him to Professor Emmett's during his entire return trip. Every 30 seconds the system would have been barking orders such as "Take the next exit" or "When possible, make a legal U-turn."

Correction: We never know if the first Ghost actually arrived to Prof Emmet. This was a repeated assumption from McGregor but never really confirmed. The fact that the navigation system was still set on this target destination inplies that he never reached target. Exactly as you say, it resets after the target is reached. If he was abducted from the ferry on his way out, the car was left empty and the abductors did not get any indication, since the engine was off, that the sat nav had a set target. The person driving the car from the ferry and back to the garage would have noticed, but if he was a novice as McGregor himself in the handling of sat navs ( he would of course not need to actualy follow the direction to be able to check the set target), he would not understand or care about the ongoing audial directions.
