Other mistake: When the Cat is using the periscope to look at Nevins, the range on it reads between forty-nine point two meters, and fifty-two point four meters. These distances translate into just over one hundred sixty-one, and one hundred seventy-one feet respectively. The kids and the Cat were no more than about fifty to sixty feet at best away from Nevins.

Suggested correction: Its more plausible the device isn't calibrated properly, after all it's not like they're going to lob something that requires pin point accuracy such as a bomb for example. That and the fact the cat is keen to make a huge mess at every opportunity suggests he probably made a mess of calibrating the periscope too.

Mary Poppins (1964)

Corrected entry: Some of the rockets in which the captain's assistant puts into the cannon have duct/masking tape around them. Duct/masking tape wasn't invented then.

Correction: While it's true that masking tape didn't exist in 1910 (it coming in the 1920s), an early version of "duck tape" was in use in America in the early 20th century. It's plausible that this was in use in London 1910 but duct tape as we now know it dates from WW2 and is different from early "duck tape".

Johnny English (2003)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Johnny has just been fired and he walks glumly away, rain suddenly starts. When we get a second shot of Lorna in the window, there is no reflection of rain. (00:53:00)

Correction: For rain to be reflected onto the window that Lorna was looking out of (which, by virtue of the fact they entered the party out of the lift says it was first floor or higher), it would have to be blown onto the window by the wind. The rain falls straight down, there is no wind and there is nothing to suggest any rain could get onto the window by splashing (such as off a windowsill or gutter dripping) from the rainfall.

Night Out in London - S2-E4

Corrected entry: When the boys see Neil's car in his driveway, it has a registration plate. However Neil then says that it isn't completely built yet and doesn't have an engine. A car cannot have a registration plate if it hasn't had an engine installed, because the fuel type and emissions of the engine are required data for the registration process.

Correction: What Neil says earlier in the episode is "I got a car... Last weekend" - there is no mention of it not being built, or even working. What Neil also says later in the episode is "I ain't got it [the car] going yet - it don't work... [My mechanic] Dave's trying to find me [an engine]". Based on Neil's intelligence as presented in the show its entirely plausible he's bought a car second hand that doesn't work or has stopped working. The number plate would have been assigned to the vehicle when it was registered new, and doesn't change when the car changes owner.

Correction: The drivers were a surprise for the viewers of Tool Time. Many "we have a surprise" show segments in real life TV are for the viewers with those for the presenter(s) typically unannounced.

Mr. Bean (1989)

Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean - S1-E13

Corrected entry: When Mr. Bean is going to bed and he hears the other people across the hallway cheering "Happy New Year", Mr. Bean looks at the clock he has in his drawer and it reads 12:00 yet the second hand is not moving. Either it failed as soon as he picked it up or they froze the shot. (00:07:00)

Correction: On analogue alarm clocks, the alarm is triggered when the hour hand passes over the alarm hand to complete the circuit to make it beep. In 99% of clocks of this type, the alarm hand is coloured typically red or yellow to distinguish it from the second hand, if one exists. In Bean's case, the shot isn't frozen in post-production (you can see Bean moving it slightly) therefore the yellow hand must be the alarm hand.

Merry Christmas Mr. Bean - S1-E10

Corrected entry: Bean supposedly unplugs the lights on the outside of the Harrods building when he is testing his own set of lights, but if you watch closely, some of the Harrods lights go off moments after the others. (When they're plugged in again, the same sort of thing happens: some of the lights come on moments after the others.)

Correction: This isn't a mistake, this isn't unique to Harrods and I'm willing to bet that the same thing happens with your Christmas lights at home. The effect is a trick of the light and also because it takes slightly longer for the power to reach the bulbs further along the track. The sequence with Harrods building lights is the same thing only on a much larger scale so it's far more noticeable.

Fawlty Towers (1975)

The Hotel Inspectors - S1-E4

Corrected entry: When Mr Hutchinson is complaining that they keep getting his order for a cheese salad wrong, he says "I've had the omelette, then prawn cocktail with a silly name, then the plate of stew then the omelette again." However earlier on he was given a plate of paté NOT prawn cocktail.

Correction: Mr. Hutchinson is not happy about the service at the hotel, and people who are complaining vocally often get themselves onto a soapbox and slightly distort the truth while ranting. This is at best a character mistake.

Mr. Bean (1989)

Correction: At varying points in the sketch Mr Bean is seen having more things in his basket than we see him actually buying. It's quite feasible that the item to which the contributor is referring was put in the basket by Mr Bean before he stepped onto the escalator.

Fawlty Towers (1975)

Correction: No she isn't, it could well be a wry smile of "I told you so", considering the facts of the situation and that it adds authenticity to her claims against Lord Melbury.

The Curse Of Mr. Bean - S1-E4

Corrected entry: In the swimming pool scene, watch out for the shots from the diving board where you can see the pool in the background - sometimes, on the extreme left, behind the railing, there is a small section of kind of platform that perhaps is used to support another camera.

Correction: This is actually the other diving board. If you watch when Bean climbs the stairs, he passes one diving board on the way to the top. Its this that is appearing in the shot.
