Corrected entry: On the show, "soda" is usually offered when asking if someone wants a drink. In Michigan we always refer to any carbonated drink as "pop". Maybe transplants might say soda, but if Tim and family have been there their whole lives, they would drink "pop".
Corrected entry: Before the reveal of Randy's new room in the basement, Tim, Al and Randy are on the stairs. Randy is anxious to see his new "lad pad." When it's time to go in, Tim calls Randy Mark by mistake.
Correction: Tim says Marv who is the camera guy, not Mark. A hint that he says Marv is that earlier in the episode when Tim is fastening the wood beam to the floor with the 44 magnum, Tim says 'Marv if you want to come in and get a closer look...' then right after Tim fastens it, Tim hits his head on the camera and says 'Not that close Marv!'
Agreed. I've heard him do this before and thought it was odd to have two characters with the same name. It is Marv and Mark.
Nothing More Than Feelings - S1-E7
Corrected entry: Jill points out the drooling song to Tim to show that she was embarrassed. But she had turned off the television before that part actually came on, so how did she know about it?
Correction: The show continued to play, while the camera was focused on the children. It played long enough to get to the song.
Wild Kingdom - S1-E5
Corrected entry: When Tim is ordering the pizza and the snake comes out of the light for the first time you can see a finger push the snake out.
Correction: I watched this episode today, and I never saw a finger.
Corrected entry: In the first season of the show, the phone changes 3 times. One time it is just a white phone, then it is a blue phone, then it is a white phone again with the numbers on the side.
Correction: It is possible that they got new phones. We went through a 6 month period in my house where we kept breaking phones and went through about 9 of them.
The Karate Kid Returns - S6-E14
Corrected entry: The episode's plot hinges on Randy retaliating against a fellow student for refusing to write a retraction concerning a defamatory article he wrote about him for the school newspaper, after which Randy writes an article explaining the error of his vengeful ways. Both aforementioned articles are full of biased commentary, with the former also being an example of yellow journalism. The first rule of journalism outside of gossip publications such as TMZ is to never publish biased or defamatory articles, and as such the editor of the school newspaper wouldn't run either article, nor would the school administration tolerate them being printed.
Correction: You think that a high school newspaper follows the exact same standards of the New York Times? These are just teenagers writing for a high school paper. There is plenty possibility for high school politics and teenage cattiness to play a part. As well, both students could simply be writing commentary pages as opposed to news articles. Commentary writers are not bound by the ethics against biased writing - that's what they are there for.
Wild Kingdom - S1-E5
Corrected entry: When Randy has to tell Tim his fortune a second time by pulling the fourth card again, he is showing Tim the third card he took.
Correction: This is a character mistake at best, Randy is trying to torment Tim and since the trick involves searching for that particular ace any mistake in shuffling would mean having to improvise to grab the right card.
Corrected entry: If the race driver guests were a surprise for Tim, why did Michael Andretti say that he followed Tim's instructions?
Correction: The drivers were a surprise for the viewers of Tool Time. Many "we have a surprise" show segments in real life TV are for the viewers with those for the presenter(s) typically unannounced.
Whose Car Is It Anyway? - S6-E6
Corrected entry: Tim hot wires Jill's car after she takes the keys. The car starts right up after a few wires are crossed. It's a manual shift car so the clutch would of had to been pressed down for the engine to crank over or else the car doesn't do anything.
Correction: Many cars with a manual transmission allow you to start the car without pressing on the clutch, as long as the transmission is in neutral.
Corrected entry: In the episode with the rope swinging at the beginning when Tim has finished rope swinging he lifts is head a little, on the overhead shot you see the stunt mans face instead of Tim Allen's.
Shooting Three To Make Tutu - S2-E20
Corrected entry: While trying to explain to Jill about how he went to the ballet and the basketball game, Tim says "basketball way" or something that sounds similar to that instead of "basketball game".
Correction: He deliberately made his speech unintelligible, so that Jill would think that he said 'Ballet'.
The Colonel - S3-E16
Corrected entry: When Tim shows Al's Mom's "shoes" they are both for the left foot.
Correction: That was intentional. He is always making fun of Al's mom being, well, odd.
Corrected entry: When Tim is explaining the stereo system to Jill, Jill is reading a book with the title "The Great Divide". The camera goes back and forth to Jill and Tim and on the 3rd come back to Jill, the cover is gone.
Correction: Meaning Jill removed it and we didn't see her do it. There is no cut, just a jerky camera pan, and thus no time between takes and no continuity error.
Corrected entry: When Tim gets on the steam roller, he is wearing the arm sling. Next shot, and for the remainder of the scene, it is gone.
Correction: While Tim was on the steam roller, he took off the sling.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Brad and Randy are screaming and trying to get away from the "aliens," look closely at their faces as they're running and pounding on the back door. They are totally laughing the whole time. (00:21:27)
Correction: Brad and Randy are not laughing at all when running around and pounding on the back door.
Something Old, Something Blue - S6-E18
Corrected entry: In the scene where Jill went to talk with Irene who was really worried and almost crying in the bride's room Jill made a joke. When the camera showed the mirror behind Jill, you could see that Irene was madly laughing. When the camera showed Irene again, she was almost crying. (00:18:00)
Correction: The description embellishes what is going on. Ilene is anxious and doubtful, but she isn't almost crying. Also, Ilene made the joke, not Jill, which was a remark about Ilene being bothered by Al's snort that she hints he does while making love too. This TMI remark causes a funny, disgusted reaction from Jill, and Ilene can be seen smiling. But this isn't a mistake because a smile is a natural response after making someone laugh with a joke.
The Route Of All Evil - S4-E13
Corrected entry: At the end of the episode Brad and Tim are having a conversation at the dinner table and a camera crew member is reflected in the kitchen window. (00:22:57)
Correction: There is no visible crew member reflected in the glass door window behind Tim and Brad.
Corrected entry: As Jill is describing how, when she stops at an intersection, the "car guys" rev their engines, a crew member can be seen reflected in the window behind her, moving across the stage from left to right. (00:21:38)
Correction: There is no crew member visible in the glass door window behind Jill when she talks about revving the car's engine.
Correction: Adding on to what Lummie wrote, people are also influenced by family members, teachers, etc. I live in the Southeast USA, and my family has always said soda, even though a few surveys claim that it's common for people around here to say "Coke" (as a term for multiple brands).
