Spy Game (2001)

Corrected entry: Look at the buttons on Muir's safe. They're upside down - because the entire lock is upside down. Why? Presumably because it looked cooler. (00:13:11)

Correction: Unusual perhaps, but certainly not a film mistake.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: When Jack and Rose are fleeing along a passage the water causes a gasoline explosion in each light fixture it reaches. The Titanic would have had DC lighting, in which case the bulbs would have simply broken from the temperature differential and the water would have shorted out the entire circuit that the lightbulb was on. (02:17:10)

Correction: The lights would have been wired in parallel so that if one of them failed the rest would still remain lit both for safety and to make identification of the failed bulb easy. If the lights were wired in series then failure of one would lead to darkness and all would have to be checked to determine which one had to be replaced. Note that this behaviour is not linked to whether the current is AC or DC.

Corrected entry: When Westley and Buttercup come out of the quicksand (an aggregate of water and sand, basically mud), they're covered with sand. Within a few seconds, they are clean - the wet sand should be quite sticky.

Correction: It's not quicksand, it's called lightning sand and it's dry from the way it flows. Buttercup disappears far too quickly for it to be regular quicksand. That's why they are cleaned up so fast.

Corrected entry: The stunt where Indy pushes the statue through the wall in the Well of Souls happened too quickly. If you watch the stunt man, he slips and almost falls off the statue, because it fell before he was ready. (01:14:15)

Correction: This is not a movie mistake, since it's entirely possible that the Indiana character could have been surprised and nearly slip.

Correction: No they don't, they are on the pavement in every shot.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: There are various different shots from different angles, it's impossible to tell if the crowd is really changing.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: We never see any of them eat candy with the wrapper on.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: Bart is wearing exactly what he was wearing in the previous shot and Lisa is wearing the bottom half of her costume. The top half came off when Bart pushed her over.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: They presumably kicked it or stood on it which wouldn't necessarily be a loud enough noise for us to hear from inside.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: Not really, Homer opens the door so fast we don't have time to see the knocker and then the place where it should be is blocked by his head. As for the peephole maybe it was one of Homers DIY projects.

Speed (1994)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Jack is talking to Howard Payne on the phone he hangs up and runs for 2 seconds, yet in the previous shot he ran quite a distance to catch up to the bus, this means he's very fast at running or someone moved his jeep further up the street. (00:29:30)

The-Immortal

Correction: He didn't run that far to reach the bus and he had to walk back to answer the ringing telephone.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: Given Bart's powers in this episode he could easily have made a bottle appear. A more mundane explanation is that Lisa or Marge brought it to him, there was more than enough time.

Apollo 13 (1995)

Corrected entry: When Jim Lovell rips off his biomedical sensors, he says "I am sick and tired of the entire Western world knowing how my kidneys are functioning." The biomedical sensors don't measure kidney function, only breathing and heartbeat.

Correction: Lovell is just expressing his anger, this is a character mistake, not a movie mistake.

tw_stuart

It's not even a character mistake. Lovell is simply using hyperbole to express his frustration over feeling micromanaged.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: It does look slightly different but it is a different angle and we see the entrance to the cafeteria, which could easily have a vending machine outside so it makes sense.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: The shot changes to an overhead one where the red chair could easily be still there but just out of shot.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: He could easily have placed it on the ground.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: At the very beginning of the film we see the machine Doc has invented to feed his dog. It takes a can of dog food and positions it under a can opener, and the lid is held by a magnet after it is cut off. The machine then tips the contents of the can into a bowl which holds three or four days worth of dog food, indicating that nobody has been around for a while. So, who has been removing the lids from the magnetic holder?

Correction: The previous lid gets knocked off when a new can is picked up.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: The hand holding the candy bar is out of shot during most of the conversation between Homer and his stockbroker so he had more than enough time to put it down.

Correction: It all looks OK to me on my DVD.
