Revealing mistake: Gracie hugs the Russian waitress in order to have a better view of the disc hand-off appear on the monitor. As she raises her left hand that holds the book/camera lens, we see that the digital feed that appears on the monitor stays steady and level, even though she is raising the book/camera lens higher and closer to her face. Obviously the feed that we see on the monitor is not taken from the book/camera lens. (00:04:10)

Miss Congeniality (2000)
Directed by: Donald Petrie
Starring: Michael Caine, Sandra Bullock, William Shatner, Benjamin Bratt, Ernie Hudson, Candice Bergen

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film when Miss Rhode Island is crowned Gracie tries to take the crown from her. Miss Rhode Island beats her with her bouquet of roses. All of the blossoms are knocked off of the stems. A few seconds later when Gracie is fighting Miss Texas the blossoms are back on the roses that Cheryl, Miss Rhode Island is holding. (01:35:00)
Continuity mistake: After Gracie is given the title of Miss Congeniality, Miss Texas (with her broken nose) and some others go up to hug her. As Miss Texas is hugging Gracie up at the podium in the first shot, the very next shot is a close-up of Victor and Matthews in the 'audience', and seen right in front of them in the audience is Miss Texas. (01:45:10)
Trivia: Gracie's and Vic's hotel room in the movie are both marked 103 for some reason. The crew did it on purpose, for reasons unknown.
Trivia: At the preliminaries, Stan asks of Miss Rhode Island, "Describe your perfect date" and Cheryl answers oddly, "April 25th." Marc Lawrence the screenwriter says in the DVD commentary that it's an actual answer given by a contestant in a pageant, that he found in research for the film. (01:05:40)
Trivia: Ken Thomas and John DiResta who play FBI Agents Harris and Clonsky, are both ex-cops turned actors.
Eric Matthews: Don't look at me like I betrayed you.
Gracie Hart: No, betrayal implies an action, you just stood there.
Miss Hawaii: Oh I know and it's an honor to have made it this far, I mean especially when you come from such a small state,.
Cheryl "Rhode Island": Oh that's so true. Us Rhode Islanders.
Miss Hawaii: Umm I wasn't finished. Did it sound like I was finished?
Cheryl "Rhode Island": I'm sorry. I,.
Karen "New York": Ay Dios, what are you apologizing to her for? She's obviously been drinking too much Coppertone.
Gracie Hart: My teeth - What are you going to do with my teeth?
Victor Melling: Hopefully, remove the beer stains and steak residue.
Question: I heard in the DVD commentary that what the Russian gangsters are saying in the beginning is total bull, because they ran out of time to translate the actual dialogue. Is there anyone from Russia, or who speaks Russian, that can understand what they are saying?
Question: What does Congeniality mean?
Answer: Congenial-1. Kindred, sympathetic 2. suited to one's taste or nature: Agreeable. (New Merriam-Webster dictionary)
Question: In the scene where Hart finds out about the Citizen being caught, when she and Matthews are arguing, Matthews says ,"You're not the only one who lives his life for the job..." Clearly he says HIS, as though both him and Hart would fall under that category. Is this a mistake, or is it supposed to be there?
Answer: It is supposed to be there. There are numerous references to Matthews (and the other agents) simply referring to Hart as one of the guys or even just as a guy.

Answer: Yes, I can speak Russian, and what they said in the movie did make sense but they spoke so horribly it was almost impossible to understand them. But it wasn't bull.
