Mistakes in the IMDb top 250 - page 7
139: A Beautiful Mind
Factual error: In a scene that takes place in 1956 or 1957, Alicia Nash places an orange Tupperware container in the refrigerator. Although Tupperware first became very popular in the mid-50s, the particular model of Tupperware used in the film was not introduced until the late 60s or early 70s.

Continuity mistake: In the very last scene in New Zealand when Jordan is giving a motivational speech, he approaches his first target in the audience and says 'Sell me this pen.' As he does so, he holds out a pen in his right hand. When we cut to the shot to the person's face, we see that the pen is in Jordan's left hand; this goes on and on with every person. (02:52:10)
Allister Cooper, 2011141: The Great Escape

Continuity mistake: In the end of the movie, Hilts (Steve McQueen) is returned to the camp - he is dirty and his shirt is torn. When he enters the cooler, after being tossed his baseball glove, he is clean and his shirt is no longer torn. (02:49:50)
142: Pan's Labyrinth
Revealing mistake: Near the end, when the captain is walking out of the labyrinth holding the baby, you can tell it's a dummy. The baby does not move in the slightest, you can't even see it breathe.
143: There Will Be Blood

Continuity mistake: In the ending scene with Daniel and Eli, Daniel starts yelling at Eli as Eli is running down the bowling alley. As Daniel is throwing bowling balls at Eli, the first ball is thrown down the left lane, hits Eli in the foot and ends up in the right lane - no pins have fallen. The second ball is thrown down the left lane and is a gutter ball - again no pins have fallen. The third ball is thrown into the right lane, hits a bucket and presumably hits no pins. However, as Daniel is chasing Eli behind the bowling alley you can see that the left lane now shows only 2 pins still standing.
Factual error: When Esposito revisits the murder scene, he asks Morales whether he would prefer the culprit to receive the death penalty. Morales answers that he would not, claiming that to doze off and fall asleep (hinting at execution by lethal injection) would be too good for the man who raped and brutally murdered his wife. Execution by injection has never been practiced in Argentina - where the last execution was carried out in 1916, by shooting - and was legally enacted only in 1977 and practiced the first time in 1982 (in both cases by the state of Texas). Thus, it seems anachronistic that anyone would equate the method with capital punishment in 1974, when the scene is set. (00:24:00)
Other mistake: During the rigged card game, the angle at which the hidden camera is shown would not have supplied a picture with the view from behind Eddy's shoulder, as is shown on the screen.
147: My Neighbor Totoro
Other mistake: When Satsuki enters the shot when she, Mei, and their father visit their mother in the hospital, Mei seems to be constantly staring up at their mother with her mouth gaping wide open.
148: Raging Bull
Visible crew/equipment: When Jake is in the bedroom with his wife (where he pours ice water on himself to calm down) you can see the top of some crew member's head in the foreground right below the camera lens.
Revealing mistake: When Howard and Curtin chase Dobbs, they pass a dead donkey which is obviously breathing, and the rope used to tie its legs together is visible too.
150: Dial M for Murder
Revealing mistake: Just before Anthony Dawson is going to be stabbed to death by Grace Kelly with a pair of scissors, you can see for a very short moment that the scissors are already attached to his back.
Continuity mistake: When Mildred and her son pull up in the station wagon, there is a drink thrown at the car that hits the windshield. She gets out and confronts them, and then walks back to her car, with no evidence of anything having hit the windshield. It would be running down the glass and was a pretty thick substance. (00:59:00)
ckbyers152: Shutter Island

Continuity mistake: When Teddy's kids are lying dead on the grass, the position of the girl's arms keeps changing between shots.
Sacha
153: The Gold Rush
Revealing mistake: When Chaplin is performing the Oceana Roll, the edge of his white makeup is visible on his right cheek.
Phoenix154: Chinatown

Revealing mistake: When Gittes visits the orange grove and crashes into the tree, you can see that a steel plate has been placed around the tree to protect it.

Factual error: At the very end of the movie, right before Javier Bardem is in the car accident, there is a shot out the driver's side window, past his face. In one of the driveways he is passing, a new Subaru Forester sits parked. The film is set in 1980.
157: V for Vendetta
Continuity mistake: As V attacks all of Creedy's men with his knives, in one shot he cuts one man's neck, and blood sprays onto the man's face, but in the next shot as the man falls, his face is clean.
Hamster
158: Inside Out

Continuity mistake: Whenever young Riley is pulling the wagon around the house, Fear stops her at a white cord in an outlet. In the next shot, it is a black cord.
159: The Elephant Man
Continuity mistake: At a meeting to do with the hospital's dealings, one man, Mr Broadbeck, objects to the Elephant Man being a patient in the hospital - in the beginning he is wearing spectacles, but, a few seconds later, the spectacles are gone.
kh1616160: The Thing

Factual error: When the infected Palmer starts his transformation into the Thing, he has a series of fits and the creature 'falls', or leaps upward onto the ceiling. Watch closely...you can see a piece of paneling also 'fall' upward, when it should have fallen down. (01:23:20)
