Continuity mistake: Dylan is reading Merritt's file and says to Merritt "Says here you are a mentalist. So what exactly is mentalism?" When Dylan finishes saying "Says here you are a mentalist", the shot cuts to Merritt. Between this shot and a shot of Merritt two shots afterward, the chains on Merritt's handcuffs that are laid across the desk change position without him moving. (00:28:25)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Merritt is explaining to Dylan what mentalism is, he raises his hands and places them on his head, raising both the handcuffs and the handcuff chains with him. From the first angle, the chain has been raised so it is not touching the table, but when he goes to put his hands on his head in the following shot, a piece of the chain, from both handcuffs, is suddenly resting on the table. (00:28:35)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: The shot before Daniel throws the cuffs onto Dylan's wrists, he lifts his arms beginning to throw the cuffs on his hand. In the next shot, his arms are back on the table ready to throw the cuffs a second time. This is only visible at the very start of shot so you have to be quick to see it. (00:31:25)

Continuity mistake: When Thaddeus shows his wine changing color trick, Alma goes to drink from the glass. In one shot, the glass is right next to her mouth, but in the following shot, the glass is now on her lap. Extended version. (00:33:20)

Casual Person

Audio problem: When Dylan and Alma are talking with Thaddeus in his dressing room, Thaddeus asks Alma if she is referring to Lionel Shrike and Dylan replies "I'm sorry, who?", but his mouth doesn't move with the line. This mistake is on the extended edition as the scene where they meet is different on the theatrical version. (00:34:00)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Thaddeus explains to Dylan and Alma the Horsemen's first trick, he asks his assistant to get the teleportation helmet for Dylan. As Thaddeus' assistant reaches down for the helmet, Dylan is looking at Thaddeus, not smiling. In the next shot, Dylan is suddenly looking at Thaddeus' assistant with his head turned 90 degrees, now smiling. (00:35:30)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Thaddeus shows to Dylan and Alma the first Four Horsemen's trick, when Dylan is in the teleport device, as the cloth is being lowered down, he is seen looking straight forward at a 12 o'clock direction. Shot cuts and he is instantly looking downwards. (00:35:45)

Casual Person

Other mistake: When Dylan is transported from the stage to "the vault", Alma, Thaddeus and Thaddeus' assistant manage to get down the stairs to "the vault" just a few seconds after he lands as if they took a simple walk there. How would they get there that fast anyway? Dylan got to "the vault" by going through a "teleportation device" that went straight to the fake vault under the stage, but the other three had to walk down a flight of stairs to get there. Even with the fake vault being close to the stage it still would take longer to get down to the fake vault. To begin with, when the vault opened, the stairs they walked down were visible several meters in the background. There were about 13 steps on the staircase which would have made the width of the staircase about 3 meters and the height about 4 meters. With the staircase at this length and position, the staircase leading to the fake vault would have had to have been located around the sitting area. Alma, Thaddeus and Thaddeus' assistant managed to get to the fake vault in about 6 seconds, too quickly. (00:36:05)

Continuity mistake: When Dylan lands in the fake vault, he lands right next to the stand where all the money was placed on. When Alma, Thaddeus and Thaddeus' assistant enter the vault, he is suddenly standing almost a few meters away from the stand where all the money was placed. This has nothing to do with the camera angles because his hand landed on the stand as he landed in the vault. (00:36:05)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: After Dylan is transported under the stage to the Horsemen's fake vault, Alma, Thaddeus and Thaddeus' assistant open the vault door after walking down the stairs. Thaddeus walks in and Dylan asks "What was with the helmet?" Thaddeus then exits the shot after Dylan finishes the line, but within a split second, Thaddeus has suddenly moved half way across the room with no time to do so. (00:36:15)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: In the flashback of the Horsemen programming the banker's mind, the banker is shown walking down a flight of steps and Daniel is shown throwing and catching some poker chips. He is first shown throwing two poker chips in the air, then in a close-up, it is only one poker chip being thrown into the air. (00:37:00)

Question: How did Dylan's team not see their reflections in the mirror in the apparently empty vault, and why don't said reflections show in the recording for that matter?

Answer: The mirror was inserted at an angle, so that the reflection was the ceiling and not what was in front of them. It's the same principle for how periscopes work.

Bishop73

Answer: Two way mirror.
