Continuity mistake: As J and O are talking about temporal rifts, after J states Boris was on Lunar-Max, O says "If Boris could figure out how to time jump, he could seriously change the course of history." In this shot, her left hand is raised and her fourth finger is shown to be placed on her thumb. Next shot, her finger and thumb are no longer touching and her finger is now pointing to the right. Continuity mistake: When the huge alien fish throws J through the window of Wu's, J knocks over several rows of frogs hanging in the window as this happens. As he finishes being thrown out of the window, only one row of frogs is left. A few minutes later as K suspends J, K goes to exit Wu's and now there are suddenly two rows. (00:16:35 - 00:19:40)
Continuity mistake: After Z's memorial has ended, J and K are driving. As J says "Because I was too tight", he is looking at K, doing a mime for tight with his right hand as the line ends. Next shot, he's looking straight forward, not doing the mime anymore. (00:10:15)
Continuity mistake: In the car after Z's memorial, K asks J, "You lose something over there, Hondo?" As he finishes this line, J is looking at K, sitting up. In the next shot, J is looking at K with his back resting against the car seat. (00:09:50)
Continuity mistake: When Boris' pet emerges from the cake, it kills the two guards. The Lunar-Max guard that had his hand stuffed in the cake has a spike put in his head and lands on the floor with his head resting against the cell wall. After the pet removes Boris' shackles, Boris goes to leave the cell and the guard with the cake on his hand is now lying on the floor almost entirely turned over. (00:03:15 - 00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: After K remembers to leave a tip, the meteorite that was intended to land on Earth ends up hitting a satellite. The shot returns to Griffin, where he is shown to be looking uncomfortable and turns his head back round. Continuity mistake: When K zip lines down back to the beach, the sand shows light amount of tracks on the sand. In the next shot, the tracks in the sand have become much heavier. (01:31:30)
Continuity mistake: After K has placed the ArcNet on the Apollo rocket, he goes down a zip line and meets up with the Colonel on the beach. The shot from the zip line shows the colonel to be standing on the sand. Next shot, he's suddenly standing on the arrow signs between each zip line. (01:31:30)
Continuity mistake: When Griffin places his arm back around J's shoulder after J steps back, J is shown to be looking at the baseball field. Next shot just as J says "So this is how you see things", J's head is suddenly slightly shifted to the left. (01:07:05)
Continuity mistake: When Boris kills Roman the Fabulist, the spike he shot at his head is located to be just an inch or two above his eyebrows. When J finds the body a few moments later, the spike is suddenly much further up his head than it was a few moments ago. The spike has also shifted an inch to the left. (00:42:15)
Continuity mistake: When the Lunar-Max guards take Boris' girlfriend to visit his cell, one of the guards opens the door. Just as the shot finishes, the cell door can be seen open enough for two people to stand side by side. From the other side, there's only enough room for one person. (00:02:00)
Continuity mistake: At the diner, when J says "World class serial killer out there, and we're having pie", K is looking downwards, then looking over to the right in the next shot. (01:03:40)
Continuity mistake: When Boris is questioning Roman The Fabulist about where the Arcanan is, Roman has a cigarette in the corner of his mouth. When Boris takes off Roman's hat, the cigarette has moved to the center of his mouth. (00:42:05)
Continuity mistake: After the time jump has finished, J is shown lying two feet above the ground. The first shot shows J to be looking very shocked with his eyes wide open. Then in a close-up, his eyes are suddenly almost half closed looking exhausted, and his head is shifted to the side. Then in the next shot, he's suddenly back to having his eyes wide open, looking shocked. (00:37:10)
Chosen answer: He saw J's father murdered by Boris. In the unaltered timeline, J says that his father wasn't around. We see this at the end and it's also why J was recruited into the Men In Black. K was keeping an eye on him the whole time.
