Continuity mistake: When Tom puts his arm around his wife's head he puts his right arm around it. When it cuts he has his left arm around her head. (00:30:05)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Tom is talking to his wife right after he tells her to into the light, she swings her head and all her hair goes away from her face. Then it cuts and there is hair in front of her eyes which she blows away. (00:30:10)
Visible crew/equipment: When we get to the inquest of Brenda watch very carefully on the green car as the camera moves towards the house. You can see the camera man walking reflected in the car. (00:30:45)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Cindy gets an envelope with some pictures in it from Brendas mother, Cindy is holding the envelope and the pictures in her left hand and as she is looking through the pictures she puts the pictures behind the envelope. Continuity mistake: When Brenda's mom almost is fainting you see her falling back in a chair. There is also a black man sitting right beside her. In the next shot she is being held up by a white man, and the black man is no longer sitting in the chair. (00:32:30)

Problem is that the log is connected at the top of the cliff. She would fall directly onto it and we would still see her. In fact we would be able to see the log as well. (00:35:55)
Other mistake: When Cindy is watching the tape for the first time and we look up the cellar stairs there are some coats hanging to the left. Later in the movie when Cindy is in the cellar she recognizes the stairs and realises she is in Tabitha's old family house. The same coats are still hanging there, in exactly the same places. Wouldn't Tom have thrown all the old stuff that belonged to Tabitha's family when he moved in? (00:36:00 - 01:06:25)
