Wayne's World

Deliberate mistake: When Wayne begins playing the "Excalibur" guitar, the clerk stops him and directs him to a "No Stairway to Heaven" sign. The problem is that the guitar riff Wayne started playing sounded nothing like "Stairway to Heaven" so the clerk had no reason to interrupt him. Evidently the intro to "Stairway" was actually played in the theatrical version of the film, but its exclusion in the home video release makes the scene rather dubious.

Continuity mistake: When Wayne and Garth are on their way to the Alice Cooper concert they show the car from behind you can clearly see that Garth is driving and Wayne is in the passenger seat but when they cut back to the car from inside Wayne is driving and Garth is in the passenger seat. Trivia: When Wayne plays "Stairway To Heaven" in the music shop, he is then stopped and says "No stairway". The filmmakers actually tried to get the song played in the movie but were denied, so this is just a little nudge at them in this scene. I think Mike Myers mentions this on the commentary on the DVD.

Question: During one scene in the Mirthmobile, Wayne pulls up alongside another driver, winds down the window and says "Pardon me, do you have any gray poopah?" and then begins to laugh. What's he talking about?

Answer: There was a series of commercials for a mustard called Grey Poupon in the late 80s and early 90s. It usually involved someone driving up next to a limo in a cheaper car, rolling their window down and asking them "pardon me sir, do you have any Grey Poupon?". Then the richer man in the limo would say "certainly" and pass it to the guy in the other car. They were incredibly stupid commercials and wayne's world makes fun of them.
