Continuity mistake: When Wayne and Garth are on their way to the Alice Cooper concert they show the car from behind you can clearly see that Garth is driving and Wayne is in the passenger seat but when they cut back to the car from inside Wayne is driving and Garth is in the passenger seat. Factual error: When Wayne and Garth are driving to the Alice Cooper concert in Wisconsin, they pass palm trees while driving the expressway from Chicago. There are no palm trees on any expressway in Illinois or Wisconsin. (00:57:00)
Continuity mistake: When Benjamin introduces himself to Wayne and Garth, Benjamin lowers his arm. When it cuts to Russel introducing himself, Benjamin suddenly has his arm up looking at the watch. (00:22:30)
Trivia: Dana Carvey is actually an accomplished drummer, and did his own drumming in the film.
Trivia: The police officer in Stan Makita's Donut Shop is named Koharski, in reference to NHL Referee Don Koharksi. After poorly officiating game 3 of the 1988 playoff series between the Devils and Bruins, Devils coach Jim Shoenfeld and Koharsky argued on the way to the dressing rooms. Koharsky fell and told Shoenfeld he'd be suspended for pushing him, and that it was all on film. Shoenfeld said, "Good, cause you tripped and fell you fat pig, have another donut.". All this was shown on ESPN.
Trivia: When Wayne plays "Stairway To Heaven" in the music shop, he is then stopped and says "No stairway". The filmmakers actually tried to get the song played in the movie but were denied, so this is just a little nudge at them in this scene. I think Mike Myers mentions this on the commentary on the DVD.
Garth Algar: Uhm, Wayne? What do you do if every time you see this one incredible woman, you think you're gonna hurl?
Wayne Campbell: I say hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, then it was never meant to be.
Garth Algar: If she were a president, she would be Baberaham Lincoln.
Wayne Campbell: No way!

Question: Can anyone explain to me the scene in which Wayne is pulled over by a cop and shown a picture? I know it's supposed to be funny, but I don't get the joke.
Answer: You presumably haven't seen Terminator 2. The actor playing the cop is Robert Patrick, who played the shape-shifting T-1000 in that movie, who masqueraded as a policeman for most of the film. The T-1000's mission was to track down and terminate a boy - hence the "have you seen this boy" line that he says to Wayne.
Question: It seems like there's some stuff cut out of the scene where Wayne and Garth meet the cop outside the donut shop. He stops them for some unsaid reason, then flips a coin at the end. What does any of this mean? Does he just get charmed and distracted by them?
Answer: It was just establishing that Wayne and his crew were friendly with Officer Koharski. They cut their conversation short because they were afraid Phil was about to throw up and needed to get him a cup of coffee.
Before Phil gets sick, they're just having a conversation. After it cuts from Phil, Koharski is suddenly holding a quarter in between his fingers. There seems to be a scene cut before they see Phil get sick to explain where the quarter came from. (Like if I had to guess, does Koharski pull out the quarter to show what he found in the cavity search?) That's what the question is asking, not is there a scene cut after Phil gets sick to explain why Koharski just walks away.

Answer: There was a series of commercials for a mustard called Grey Poupon in the late 80s and early 90s. It usually involved someone driving up next to a limo in a cheaper car, rolling their window down and asking them "pardon me sir, do you have any Grey Poupon?". Then the richer man in the limo would say "certainly" and pass it to the guy in the other car. They were incredibly stupid commercials and wayne's world makes fun of them.
