The Uninvited picture

Question: If Mildred Kemp is in the mental institution under her real name, then why in the article does it say that she is still at large? Is this just part of the delusion that Anna is playing out?

scaryterri

Chosen answer: The newspaper article saying she was still at large was 20 years old. It can safely be assumed that she was caught and put into the institution during that 20 year time frame.

What? I'm still so confused. Are Rachel and Mildred the same person? Who killed the three children?

Anna has a disorder, which is another reason she was in a psychiatric institution and not jail. Her personality disorder is called dissociative identity disorder, where she takes on alters, aspects of her personality who handle stress, when she cannot. Alex and Mildred were alters of hers, which is why Anna thought Rachel was Mildred. The MIldred alter did the things she couldn't do, killing Rachel because she thought she was evil. And a Mildred alter can be thought of wanting to revenge her capture, so why not make a mini Mildred out of Anna?

So Mildred told Anna to kill Rachel?

No... Mildred was in the mental hospital with Anna and told Anna stories about her murdering the children I'm sure (since she asked when Anna left the hospital who she was going to tell her stories too). Anna wanted to kill Rachel to begin with and when she faked being mentally health enough to escape, her intention was to be home to kill her. She did and then goes back to the hospital, where the real Mildred Kemp is.

Answer: No they're two different people. The woman who spoke to Anna at the asylum is Kemp. Rachel just changed her name to escape an abusive ex boyfriend.

Question: Maybe I missed something, but how was Esther able to fool everyone practically all her life and hide the fact that she's a 33-year old sociopath? When Kate finally learns the truth by getting the phone call, they show a photo of the "real" Esther, so at least those records of her exist somewhere. How could the boarding school not have known her true identity?

Answer: The boarding school was going by the falsified records that Esther had with her. They did not suspect anything, so they had no reason to dig any further at the time.

wizard_of_gore

Answer: High quality makeup was an important part of her disguise as the alternative ending make apparent. Her fake freckles were the master's touch.

When needy was walking and found the knife, the knife was beside one of the balls that the scientists were testing where the water went to. The Twilight Saga: New Moon picture

Question: If Alice can see the future, why did she not protect Bella from Jasper's attack before it happened at Bella's birthday party?

sunfox35

Chosen answer: The way I understand it, Alice's power only works once someone makes a conscious decision to act. Since Bella's paper cut was unanticipated, Jasper's attack was impulsive, not premeditated.

The Lovely Bones picture

Question: If Susie's body had been in a bag in the safe, how did people who went into his house (Lindsey when she broke into his house through the basement window) not smell her dead body?

Answer: The only person who went into the basement while the safe was there was Lindsey. The safe was airtight, so the odor at that point would have been contained inside it.

raywest

Answer: The dog could smell her body even from outside, and he barked and hesitated as he passed near the killer's house. Dogs can smell people from a long distance.

Night of the Demons picture

Question: It was discovered that the only way for the demons to take possession of a living person is either through a kiss or a bite. How could Colin have been turned into a demon when he wasn't bitten or kissed?

Answer: It took Maddie several minutes to climb down to the basement after Colin fell through the floorboards. Those couple of minutes was all the time needed to infect him.

Again, he wasn't bitten or kissed, so he shouldn't have been infected.

That's why he states it took her a good amount of time, as the viewers don't know what may have happened... Plus, technically, he was humped.

A Perfect Getaway picture

Question: There are 2 scenes in the movie that I am confused about. Both of them take place BEFORE we find out that Cliff and Cydney are the real killers. The first takes place towards the begining when Cliff and Cydney are pretending to be going to the bathroom behind a tree watching the killers (themselves) on the security camera. The second is when they are in their tent (with Gina in the background gutting the goat). In both scenes, Cliff and Cydney appear to be afraid and very concerned about Gina and Nick being the real killers. In the tent scene, they talk about leaving Nick and Gina behind because they think they're the killers. Why are Cliff and Cydney even talking about this if THEY are the real killers?

Answer: They're not afraid the other couple are the killers, they're afraid they may be recognized on the video and that the other couple might figure out who they really are.

Drag Me To Hell picture

Question: Christine needs $10,000 for a dangerous seance, so she goes to the shed to gather up some items to pawn, whereupon she again encounters Lamia (as Mrs. Ganush). Christine uses her ice skate to slash a rope that conveniently drops a 100-lb blacksmith's anvil on the demon's head. After the demon vanishes, the anvil, rope and chain are seen on the floor where they fell, so it wasn't just a fantasy sequence. Why does petite little Christine Brown (or anybody, for that matter) have a 100-lb blacksmith's anvil suspended 8 feet in the air with rope and chain out in the shed?

Charles Austin Miller

Answer: Because it's a film and Sam Raimi obviously thought it was funny. But I did also wonder.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans picture

Question: In "Underworld Evolution" Tanis said (to Kate and Michael) that Viktor killed Selen's family in Winter when Lucian escaped with the key from the castle. But in this movie, Viktor at the end goes into the hibernation chamber. How possible? Is this a continuity error?

Miltonfine

Chosen answer: He's badly injured, so he goes into the hibernation chamber to heal. Doesn't mean that he's staying in there for hundreds of years; he could easily emerge as soon as he's healed up and kill Selene's family off.

Daybreakers picture

Question: Why didn't Chris want the cure to spread in the end?

Answer: Just like the humans, he had a fear of becoming extinct.

Answer: The vampires were now everywhere, with very few humans left in their blood farms. Their food supply was dwindling and it was getting to the point that they were facing extinction by starvation. The only way to keep life going was for the vampire disease to be cured and everybody to turn back human.

Quantom X

Then why didn't he want it to happen?

He successfully created a substitute.

Question: If the character's nicknames (Columbus, Tallahassee, etc) come from their destinations, how come Witchita & Little Rock have different names, when they're sisters and are coming from - and heading to - the same place?

Answer: The names come from their hometowns, not their destinations. Witchita is much older than Little Rock; she could have spent the majority of her childhood in Witchita before her family moved to Little Rock where her sister was born. She still considers Witchita to be her "hometown".

Halloween 2 picture

Question: At the ending of the director's cut, it shows that Laurie, Michael, and Loomis are all dead. But, the following scene is the ending of the theatrical cut with Laure in the insane asylum. Could somebody clarify this?

Answer: When the movie was made there were two possible endings filmed with one being selected for the theatrical release. Filmmakers often pre-screen a film to a test audience to gauge their reaction. This can decide whether or not changes will be made to the finished film, including an alternate ending. The director's cut here is simply showing audiences both scenes that were filmed as an "extra" feature. Other movies have included this, as well as showing deleted scenes.

Question: Why did William cover the healthy people but did not cover the sick people?

Answer: People that are in need of frequent medical attention usually end up costing their insurance providers more money than they pay them in premiums, so it's simply a matter of the person's coverage becoming a liability for the insurance company.

Question: What caused Tom to start killing everyone?

Answer: It was many factors. First, he was blamed for letting the methane gas leak, which caused the explosion and deaths. Then, having one of the miners attack him and his friends. All that would cause anyone to go over the edge.
