Revealing mistake: When Truman is first discovered escaping on the boat, they go to a camera shot of his face. If you look at the water, the boat is not moving at all. Revealing mistake: During the scene where the two teenage stars are outrunning the tidal wave through the hills, the girl is supposedly carrying her baby sibling strapped to her chest. However, the legs that can be seen dangling out of the baby-carrier belong to a dummy.
Revealing mistake: When they are climbing up from the subway tunnel into Madison Square Garden, there are lots of half-dead fish scattered around from when Godzilla was feeding. Right before they enter the arena, in the overhead shot looking down on the actors, there is a wiggling fish in the lower left portion of the screen. If you look closely, you can see a string attached to the fish. A crew member is obviously tugging on it from below, to make the fish move.
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Murdoch falls off the building, you can see the rope that is holding him up, twice. (00:59:00)
Revealing mistake: As Ted is being burnt by the fire, you can see his body trapped underneath the debris. In a side shot of Ted it is very obviously a stunt dummy as the left arm and head stay completely still and the arm remains completely stiff despite hearing screams and shouts from the pain.
Revealing mistake: When one of the bad guys is being dragged around by the monsters and thrown against pipes and walls and such, in wide shots you can see there is no monster really pulling him, and from the stiffness and position of his body, he is likely on some sort of device to swing him around.
Revealing mistake: When Jackie falls from the helicopter, in the close-up of him falling towards the trees, you can see a wire coming from Jackie's' left; using slo-mo helps. (The use of slow motion is permitted if things such as crew or equipment are visible.)
