Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Plot hole: The planes fly in low to avoid being attacked by the SAM installations. Why are the cruise missiles, which are flying above them, not attacked by the missiles from the ground? (01:33:28)

Suggested correction: The Tomahawk cruise missiles are sent to destroy the airfield, which is some distance away from the illegal uranium enrichment site.

Continuity mistake: During the bobsleigh fight, Bond is thrown from the bobsleigh. He is mid-air while the bobsleigh and Blofeld go on. In the next frame, he is hanging on by one hand. (02:14:23)

Continuity mistake: As the jets fly over the sub, we see a shot of the sub and the boats around it. Several boats shift position compared with the shots before and after. For example, the boat with the tall mast and people on the wheelhouse alongside the sub has another boat nudging its stern, not in the flyover shot. (02:02:19 - 02:03:06)

PeterNZ

Continuity mistake: The two jets are shown flying at the same level, one in front of the other. In the next shot, from the pilot's POV, the other jet is above and to the left, not level. Then, as they overfly the boats, they are level again. (02:02:59)

Clambake (1967)

Factual error: The commentator is saying, "The last of the drivers are now in line and ready to go... they are holding position for this two and a half-mile course," when they are all over the place and not lined up in any way. (01:26:41)

Continuity mistake: When Blofeld is giving the girls instructions on how to use the receiver, he tells them to push the mirror back to conceal the receiver. "Push it back now." In fact, they push the antenna, not the mirror. (01:30:53)

Jailhouse Rock (1957)

Trivia: The song "Jailhouse Rock" is introduced by Elvis at about 1:04:40, where he talks about being in jail with "a bunch of men." And again, "these men" had a lot of fun. Then the line "No. 47 said to No. 3, you're the cutest jailbird I ever did see..." etc. So he is really describing same-sex relationships in the prison. Very ahead of his time. (01:04:40)

Time's Arrow (2) - S6-E1

Continuity mistake: Data is driving a pair of brown horses pulling an enclosed carriage. You can see the side of the carriage as it comes around the corner. Next shot, when they climb aboard, it is open-sided. (00:17:40)

Aliens (1986)

Continuity mistake: From Director's Cut. The scene where Al is being quizzed about the ownership of the discovery of the object discovered by the "Mom and Pop" survey team tells us that a call has been put in by that team to the base. But then when they discover the ship, where is the call? They explicitly do not call it in. Now this is not just a general enquiry because they were sent out there two weeks ago to a specific grid reference. "He says he's onto something." (00:16:34 - 00:18:38)

Deep Impact (1998)

Trivia: The actress who plays Lilly Rittenhouse is Hannah Leder. The name of the boat her family are provisioning is Hannah. Strangely, the name of her character on IMDB is Holly, not Lilly. (01:48:09)

Mackenna's Gold (1969)

Plot hole: When McKenna is fighting Colorado at the end, McKenna does not go for Colorado's revolver. He cannot have known the bullets had been tampered with, since that information was only known to Colorado and Hachita. Perhaps he deduced it when Colorado didn't draw his gun. (01:56:00)

Continuity mistake: When Clara is about to leave Doc's workshop, the position of Doc's hand on the telescope alters each time we move from rear to front shot. (01:08:09)

PeterNZ

Factual error: Preparing to run the model train in Doc's workshop, Marty connects the clamp to the positive terminal. But he actually connects to the white ceramic insulator. Doc correctly connects to the negative metal terminal. (01:10:01)

Time Tunnel (1966)

The Kidnappers - S1-E28

Continuity mistake: At the very end of this episode, when they have just arrived in the new time, Doug is fighting a man in a turban. He loses the turban, but then the next shot, it has reappeared on his head. (00:48:54)

Deep Impact (1998)

Other mistake: How can it be named Wolf-Beiderman? Wolf never sent the email, and even if it did go, once the network was restored, he never called it Wolf-B before writing it on the floppy label. The president says both were killed in the crash. So, they invent an astronomer working at the observatory and no one notices? Remember, the floppy was destroyed in the fire. Wolf never called anyone; he was killed while trying to make a call. Maybe the pics were also burned. Mr. Perry never followed up?

Suggested correction: We didn't see him send the email, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. We know he sent it because it's stated that's what happened.

Video

Continuity mistake: The attachment to the minisub is inconsistent. It is an open hook first then as it's being lifted it becomes an enclosed shackle looking quite different. Plus a figure now appears on the roof. Ben Gazzara has just gone below. (00:57:42)

Magellan (2017)

Factual error: The film informs us the gravity on Neptune's moon Triton is less than 8% of Earth's. But the whole physics of the rocks and his movement on the surface do not reflect that. The actual surface is frozen nitrogen. The difficulty he has in moving around is not well correlated by him only weighing 7kg. Https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5361488/.

Top Gun (1986)

Continuity mistake: When Cougar is looking at the picture of his wife and child, it's a girl. When he is interviewed by the Captain, he says "I almost orphaned him..." (00:10:14 - 00:13:03)

PeterNZ

Suggested correction: He actually says "I almost orphaned 'em out there today" ie. Orphaned THEM not him.

stiiggy

Except he follows it up with "I've never even seen him." So he's talking about a boy. And before the orphan line he said "wife and kid", not "wife and kids", implying only one child.

Bishop73

And he couldn't have orphaned them anyway if their mother is still living. Dude was all shook up and couldn't think straight.
