Continuity mistake: The cars change shape frequently during the movie. That depends on the fact that many scenes were filmed at real races, with real F-1 cars. The cars that the actors drove were, for the most part, disguised F-3 racers. There are at least three fake Ferraris, and they all look different. One of them seems to have been built to resemble a 1965 F-1, but altered to look like a 1966 model. The non-existent Yamura (built to resemble a Maclaren), that James Garner drives is actually two cars with different chassis, one of them seems to be used very little, except when it catches fire in a scene.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Randy is playing table tennis on the stage at the restaurant, just after he has finished hitting the ball blindfolded and says, "Thank you", you can see a man in the background getting up. The shot then switches to the boy with the man in the background still sitting. The shot then switches back to Randy and the man is getting up again.
Continuity mistake: When Spencer Tracy takes Katharine Hepburn to the baseball game (about 20 minutes into the film), several plays supposedly from that game are shown. Some of the plays take place on a diamond that has a well manicured dirt path from the pitchers mound to home plate, while others take place on a diamond with an all grass infield and no path.
Continuity mistake: In the eighth game of the season, a scoreboard shows the score with about 3:08 to go in the game as 43-12, but next the announcer says they lost 35 to 12. It occurs right before Chapter 7 4:31 minutes.
Continuity mistake: When Sato goes to see Miyagi, but he isn't there, Chozen destroys the dojo then tells his two friends to let Daniel go, and they throw him forward. His hands are not in the fighting stance, yet in the following shot he is now in his fighting stance with his hands at the ready. (01:15:25)The-Immortal
Continuity mistake: When Lex goes back to Queens, he meets up with an old friend who is driving his car. The camera angles from the front show him standing with his hands at his sides, but the camera angles from the back show his left hand on the car. Happens about 3 times during the entire scene.MCKD
Continuity mistake: In the opening sequence, Felix (Jack Lemmon) goes into the Metropole Cafe. One of the people he passes as he enters is a young woman with a thin face and very distinctive nose and eyes. He goes in, has a drink, hurts his neck, and leaves. As he is leaving, the camera pans the band and go-go dancers. One of the dancers is the young woman who had just left as he was entering.
Continuity mistake: When Katelyn puts on her hockey skates, her leggings are not on. When Ronnie returns the skate it is white. Her skates suddenly appear as neutral and her leggings suddenly appear.
Continuity mistake: When Eric is battling the wigger kid on the halfpipe, the wigger's skateboard changes. When he's just standing on the top of the ramp, it's a World Industries board, but when he's doing tricks it's an almost all black skateboard.
Continuity mistake: When Boris Amphibiensky fails his high jump attempt during track and field, one of the bar's ends sticks to the post while the other reaches down to the ground. But the bar's length is only about an eighth of the posts' height, which is more than 77 feet, so the one end shouldn't reach the ground while the other still hangs on to the post's top.
