Character mistake: When Morpheus is explaining to Neo the reason the Matrix exists, he states that a human being gives off 25,000 BTUs of body heat to help power it - this is just not true. Even human beings that are running a marathon can't give off that much heat, and the humans in the Matrix are all lying down, not moving.
Character mistake: Near the end of the movie, John's wife calls one of his colleagues and says, "Jad, it's Laura, John needs a favour." Her character's name is Lara. (02:08:30)
Character mistake: When Bower is banging on Payton's hyper sleep chamber from the outside it says Payton, but when it cuts to looking from inside out, it says Bower.
Character mistake: When Nicolas returns from Mexico and goes to the gate of his house, he sees a sign that says his house is being sold at public auction. The word "foreclosure" is spelled incorrectly. It is spelled "forclosure."
Character mistake: In the obituary for Clark Kent, the opening couple of paragraphs are repeated further down the article.
Character mistake: Chapman is wearing a gold oak leaf cluster insignia on his uniform which is the rank of Major. At the initial briefing he is introduced as Major, which is correct. Throughout the movie he is referred to as Captain, which is wrong.
Suggested correction: He is referred to by his name "Chapman"; it sounds close to "Captain."
Character mistake: During Mickey's MI it's stated that his blood pressure is 200/50 (that alone is ridiculous) and the doctor immediately says "OK. Let's start CPR." If Mickey has a BP he has a pulse, and any CPR certified healthcare provider would know that you can't do CPR on a patient with a pulse.
Character mistake: When Cutter is talking with Chief Biggs for the first time, right after the negotiations for fuel, Cutter says he is the former head of security for the airline. Since he has just been hired for that role (after being an independent security consultant), he should have called himself the future head of security, or new, or something of that nature. Former would indicate he has resigned from the position.
Character mistake: At the trial, the witness said that "With the first shot, we lost our gravitational field. I found myself weightless, and unable to function." However, the first shot caused the ship to start listing to port. It was the second shot that caused the gravitational failure.
Suggested correction: People misremember events all the time, especially if the events are unexpected and chaotic. At best a character mistake.
I called it a character mistake.
He could also simply be lying in order to explain why he did not do whatever he should have after the 1st shot, since he was an easy target for the intruders and did not die in battle, which would have been honorable. Klingons are not the most honest of people.
Character mistake: When the little boy is reading his report about Abraham Lincoln, he states that Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Illinois. Lincoln was actually born in a log cabin in Kentucky.
Character mistake: Angel says he went to Canterbury University. It's actually called the University of Kent or the University of Kent at Canterbury, but never Canterbury University. Canterbury Christ Church University, Canterbury's other university, only became a university in 2005, after Angel is likely to have ceased being a student.
Character mistake: When looking at the various items in his safe deposit box, one of the passports has the name Henry Reed. However the serial at the bottom of the passport is mistyped as REED/HENTY. (00:41:25)
Character mistake: In Pitch Black they established the system they crashed in (M-344/G) had 3 stars. Jack stated it when the 2nd sunrise started, and the solar system model also had 3 stars. In this film when Boss Johns starts asking about M-344/G he says it is "a backwater system with 2 suns and 1 habitable planet."
Character mistake: Sandra Bullock's German is very good, but not perfect. She says about her husband, "Gestern hat er seine Schuhe in den Gefrierschrank gestellt," ("Yesterday, he put his shoes in the freezer"). Immediately afterwards, she says "seine Schuhe ins Gefrierschrank," ("He put his shoes in the freezer"). The word Gefrierschrank (freezer) in German is masculine and can never be preceded by the accusative case contraction "ins", the contraction for "in das." She just changed the gender of the word Gefrierschrank (freezer) from masculine in the first sentence (correct) to neuter in the second sentence (incorrect). (01:40:05)
Character mistake: Hellboy's stone hand is on the wrong side when he's fighting the first giant. (00:32:50)
Character mistake: When Curtin shoots Dobbs, the two shots are close together in time. When Curtin explains it he says that he was shot and falls. Then Dobbs shoots him again. This takes time but the shots were fired very quickly.
Character mistake: The word "missile" is misspelled as "missle" on the sign at the research facility where the one passenger served as a scientist.
Character mistake: After Bryce and Amanda arrive, Sam and Amanda are walking out of the immigration and customs office. Amanda says that she loves the Caribbean. The Bahamas is not in the Caribbean. (00:11:36)
Character mistake: When Dutch is at the main gate to report for duty, he addresses an Airman as Sergeant. In the time period of this movie, an airman wearing three stripes would be an Airman 1st class.
Character mistake: Declan tells Ethan that 162 (meters) is "pushing minimum height for a (BASE) jump." This is not the case. It's not uncommon for jumps to be made from sub-100m heights. In fact the lowest BASE jump was debatably made from the hand of the Christ the Redeemer in Rio at 29 meters. However it must be said that jumping between buildings, like in the movie, is extremely dangerous and carries even more risk than just normal BASE jumping. (01:22:20)
