Continuity mistake: When Claire is writing in her diary, in the close-up the large decorative bookmark hangs down from the book, yet in the next shot, as Charlie walks over, the bookmark is on the other side and under her fingers. (00:04:50)
Continuity mistake: When Charlie is talking to Claire at the start and he says about there being a doctor at the caves, Claire has her hands on her baby bump. Camera changes and one hand is raised and the other is holding a bottle of water. (00:05:40)
Continuity mistake: Just after Sayid has woken Sawyer up by throwing water in his face, there is a shot of Sayid from behind the tree Sawyer is tied to, and you can see a bit of Sawyer's hair. However, it is hardly wet, if at all, and when the camera cuts back to Sawyer his hair is drenched again. (00:22:20)
Continuity mistake: While Sawyer is tied to a tree in the "jungle of mystery," Sayid throws water on Sawyer's face to wake him. The amount and pattern of water stain on Sawyer's tee shirt differs significantly in the following shots. (00:22:30)
Continuity mistake: When Sawyer is tied to the tree, his hair is constantly changing positions between shots. Most noticeable is the wet hair stuck to his forehead. (00:23:00)
Continuity mistake: After Sawyer admits to Kate that he doesn't have the inhalers, Sayid and he get into a tussle. In the first shot, the back of Sayid's white shirt is fairly clean as he is standing, but in the next wider shot the back is completely filthy - before he and Sawyer ever even hit the ground. Continuity mistake: When Sayid stabs Sawyer, in the close-up there are considerable blood stains on Sayid's white shirt, yet when Jack pushes Sayid off Sawyer all the blood has vanished. This continues to happen in all the following shots, when Jack tells Sayid to get his bag, and the amount and pattern of blood also significantly changes. (00:30:15)
Revealing mistake: After Sayid stabs Sawyer, in the wide shot when Jack pushes Sayid away, as Sawyer lies with his right arm outstretched the knife is nowhere to be seen. In the next close-up, the large, long-handled knife is protruding from Sawyer's upper arm at about a 90ยบ angle. Given the angle and position of the knife, it should have been seen in the previous shot. (00:30:20)
Continuity mistake: When Sawyer is on the floor after being stabbed, his hair is lying to the left side of his head. However in a couple of shots, it's on the right side of his head, then back to his left. This could not be caused by him moving around slightly as the hair is always in the same position otherwise. Continuity mistake: Kate says she looked at the envelope of the letter - the camera shows a closeup of the envelope which on the right hand side of the crest has no creases and just 1 barely visible fold. Continuity mistake: When Claire and Charlie are eating the peanut butter, Claire's hair is either over her left eye or tucked behind her ear depending on the shot. (00:38:25)
Continuity mistake: When Sayid leaves at the end it is sunset. Camera swaps to Charlie and Claire and it's now more like mid afternoon. (00:39:00)
Factual error: In the episode where Shannon is having asthma attacks, Michael get some eucalyptus plants for Sun, but the plants he gives her aren't eucalyptus.
Continuity mistake: At the start of the episode, Sawyer tells Jess he has $140,000. Later, when Sawyer is talking to his boss in the bar while playing pool, his boss says that he had $160,000.
Continuity mistake: In the first minute of the episode when Sayid finds the wire on the beach, his left pant leg is not torn. When he follows the wire into the jungle, just before he trips Danielle's trap, the left leg of his pants is already torn, in exactly the place where the branch will stab him. (00:02:50)
Continuity mistake: When Sayid steps into the trap, in the close-up of his feet he removes his right foot, and the left remains on the ground, inside the closing rope. However, in the next shot as he's lifted in the air, it's his right leg that is caught up in the trap. (00:03:15)
Visible crew/equipment: As Sayid swings upside down in the trap, the black stunt suit is visible at his back where his shirt is pulled up, and the outline of the stunt device is visible under the front of his shirt. (00:03:20)
Continuity mistake: When Sayid is pulled upside down in the trap, he swings toward the tree and is stabbed by the branch. It is an entirely different branch in each of the following shots: first - when he is stabbed, second - when it sticks out of his thigh, third - when he pulls it out. (00:03:20)
