Continuity mistake: While Hank, Peggy, and Bobby are asking for help picking up the papers with the dangerous ammonia and bleach recipe, a person in back of the group they are talking to that was originally wearing a dark red hat, red shirt, and blond hair switches to a pink, light blue shirt, and brown hair. Plot hole: Bobby teaches Peggy to ride a bike, but previous episodes show Peggy riding a bicycle, and once she rode across the entire town.

Continuity mistake: As Ace hands back the giant cheque at the end, take a look at the 'pay to the order of'. It reads "The Winners" but in the next shot it reads "The Winner's".

Continuity mistake: Peggy is looking out the kitchen window into the Gribble household, which is wrong. Khan lives on the kitchen side of the Hill household. The Gribbles live on the garage side.

Continuity mistake: The scene where Minh and Kahn are sitting together, they look into each other's eyes. When she is not looking right into his eyes, she has no earrings, when she looks into his eyes, she has earrings, then it zooms out and shows her with no earrings. (00:04:30)

Continuity mistake: At the end, when the guys are standing poolside holding their beers, none are wearing watches and all are barefoot, but after Kahn tells Hank his dream of an Olympic size pool, Hank and Dale are wearing watches and Kahn is wearing flip-flops. (00:20:30)

Continuity mistake: While Ted and other Laotians are at Kahn's party, Kahn makes an offensive remark, and when Nguc begins to chastise Kahn the buttons on Nguc's shirt switch sides. (00:07:35)

Continuity mistake: While Bobby's on the sign-up line, Dale complains it's not fair that only kids get paper routes, and Dale's watch vanishes from his left wrist, then reappears. The watch style also changes in the shots facing Dale. (00:03:20)
Answer: Couple things, first only Peggy knew the truth about Hoyt (Luanne's father) being in prison and Peggy is the one who said he's on an oil rig. But, Hoyt is Peggy's brother, so she could have been trying to hide the fact her brother is in jail. Lucky (Luanne's husband) deduced Hoyt had been in prison, but seems to be the only other person to know the truth, so when Hoyt went back to prison, he kept Peggy's lie up to spare Luanne. Additionally, Luanne was there when her mother stabbed Hoyt and was arrested, so it's not like someone had to break the news to her and they couldn't hide the fact. With Hoyt, even if Peggy wasn't trying to protect her brother's reputation, she didn't want Luanne, who is a sensitive and emotional young woman, to have to deal with knowing both parents are in jail.
